Since I had to look it up... Suaveolent: fragrant, sweet smelling (botanical Latin)

It was brutally hot at the show yesterday, but Molly brought it home. I'm sure it didn't hurt that I have known one of the judges for 28 years. But no one can deny Molly's quality.

I am hoping to be done by noon today. If Molly wins either of the Terrier Groups, then we will not be going home early. But since it is Sunday and going to be another 100 degree day, I'd be plenty happy with a second place award in either group.

Yesterday's food intake was probably a little lean on protein. I'm guessing right around 60, which for me is not enough. I think I mentioned I forgot to pack my premade meals. A friend was kind enough to drive me to the supermarket so I didn't have to walk in the heat. I grabbed two TV dinners and let it go at that.

Bug is doing great here. She is quite good at RV life and is now leash broken. It's cute to see the 10 week old puppy just chugging away on her leash to keep up with her big sister. I always love to leash train pups with a mature adult. It makes it so much easier when they have a role model. Also, Molly is so stable and unconcerned about barking dogs. The puppy picked up on that immediately and decided that barking dogs were nothing over which to be alarmed or fearful.

Must get Miss Molly ready for showing. Have a super duper Sunday, ladies! I'm going to try and stay COOL!

We got a lot done at the house yesterday and we made it out for date night - early evening though. We were home by 8. The insulation is replaced in the older basement storage room. The screen porch and the furniture for it have been power-washed. 75% of the garage has been cleared. Not much major left to do though we need to bring donations to where they are going and make the rooms look nice which largely involves DS decluttering.

And I slept really well most of the night. I feel much better today. The aches and pains are mostly gone. I have skipped 2 days of shoulder exercises though so need to get back to them today. However I have certainly been using my arm so I think it was getting some work without me thinking about it.

Not much else on the agenda today. It is a gray day with thunderstorms predicted most of the day so all work will be inside.

Have a suaveolent Sunday!

Yes, Bay Area, quite near Peps but pretty far from Diane who's much farther north. I think you are in San Diego? My husband's uncle and aunt live in La Jolla and our DD went to UCSD, so we have spent a fair amount of time there--it's beautiful!

Yes, Lizanne lives only about 30 minutes from me. Diane S on the other hand, about 4.5-5 hours north along the Pacific coast. The area in which Diane S lives is really breathtaking! Very much like coastal Maine, but with different trees!

I love visiting California, because I can be a morning person! After breakfast we went to the pool. Suddenly I heard a voice yelling, Uncle Pat! It was a stunning moment of nostalgia, I looked st DH and said, when was the last time you heard a niece's voice, calling for you across the pool? DH was having the same reaction. BIL has 5 daughters, and 4 of them are here right now. Feeling blessed to have this time with them.

The weather is beautiful, and the sun felt incredible after this rainy spring/summer in Minnesota. In a little while we will head over to our oldest niece's house for her baby shower. Its a big family party with a hog roast executed by her husband. Apparently the pig went into the pit he prepared before dawn, and will be pulled out later this afternoon.

I'm still a long ways away from Northern California, but it's fun to know I'm on the same coast as Peps and Diane S. (And Lizanne, also in Northern California?)

I was trying to remember where else I had heard the name Bug. Our neighbor here in Michigan is from Birmingham, Alabama and she invites her Book Club ladies up every year. One year they had a local author come and speak to the group and invited me. We had all read the book (terrible if you ask me), and after we had dinner with all sorts of wonderful southern recipes. Where has cheesy grits been all my life? Anyway, one of the women goes by the name Bug. she's in her 60s and doesn't quite remember where it came from, but if you use her real name, nobody knows who you're talking about!

greetings all

The sun is out early today! It's going to be fairly warm. Like 70. LOL

Liz I feel your pain. Please just don't overdo it. I wish I had a magic bullet for sleep. Lots of people here use CBD oil which does not work for me. And yeah one slice of pizza is nothing. We have a new pizza place in town that DB ordered from and they can make any pizza with a cauliflower crust and they deliver fast! A new entry in my "how to not cook" log book. Also delivered a salad.

I will do some studio time today. Need to make new stuff. Also catch up on gossip.

CC congratulations on sleeping to a reasonable hour. Thank you Kirby. Your comments are wise. And glad you told parents about your med. No big deal which secrets can become at times.

Tomorrow we go to an early July 4 event. These are the people that start cleaning up about an hour after you get there and sho you out the door. Fine with me. I have been asked to bring baked beans. Kind of annoys me but I will do it. After a search of local delis with no results I bought canned beans and some local bbq sauce and will do the totally lazy cheat method.

Peps when you said Podunk I guessed it was Gridley. Never been to those shows but heard they are nice. But hot - geez. Glad puppy ladybug is traveling well.

Last night we had fish that DH brought home from Marina. Yikes, it was fried fish with garlic in it! Not good. Whose idea was that? Even the dogs would not eat it. They also would not eat the boutique hand made dog food that my brother brought for his dog. Not a bite.

Cheers. Diane S
