Winter always seems to want to make a comeback after the "official" first day of spring. At least the snow doesn't last long.

Greetings all
It is sunny here and even warm. I can see t shirts in the near future. Got a late start because DH wanted to watch an episode of Dexter since he could not find ancient aliens. Oh well. Skipped the gym (and feel guilty). Went to the studio and finished some things. Kilns unloaded today and there were loads of things to see. Always fun to look at the array of new items.
Yep Liz customs is no joke anymore. No fun allowed. My brother had steel bars around his ribs for awhile. He kept a picture of the X-ray and doctors report on his phone so he could show the TSA what they were. But yeah metal body parts could create issues. Guess our sleeve staples are titanium. Anyway glad your DD is moving forward and that you can go help even though it's a travel overload. No jet lag for you!
Peps I think you should stay put unless you travel to somewhere and fall in love with it. Good medical matters. And I bet you land in Eurppe under 200. Bet you are looking forward to the trip.
Stay warm Paula. There will be spring...
DD if you want a mac book then I say get it. DH has one but he has one of every apple thing. We both use our iPads extensively. DH reads constantly. Kind of depends if you want to read, write or both. I do any typing on a desk top mac but not all that much.
Eye doctor tomorrow. Probably will schedule the other eye. Hope so. I really need new glasses. So I may miss Scrabble or part of it. The Shark will have to torture someone else.
MOre tastee sandwhiches tonight. Love it when I don't have to think up a dinner.

I had an old Mac Airbook and had to retire it. I didn't feel there was anything I couldn't do on my iPad. I do have a Bluetooth keyboard but rarely use it. I also have MS Word and Excel on it.
Much cheaper than buying a new airbook.

Won't be too long and you will be out of the 200s! Good for you! Your house/yard sounds ideal Peps and you already have the nice weather. I have a cousin that just recently from Palm Springs to Phoenix. His siblings all live in AZ, so I think that was one of the deciding factors for him!
We just bought a new laptop. Got an HP off of Amazon with a $200 off coupon! It is a 17 inch I think, so bigger than your specs! Our high today was supposed to be 35, but was 20 with windchill.
Another lovely view Liz! It's 47 degrees here, your photo looks especially inviting today. As everyone else said, so glad you can be in Massachusetts for your daughter's surgery. It will be a great comfort to her, and to her husband.
Paula that soup recipe looks good. I must give it a try.
I need a laptop. I have a Mac Air book at work, and I REALLY like it, but I don't actually need all the features in my retirement life. But I want it. What I know I don't want: an iPad, a touch screen with a detachable keyboard, or anything bigger than 13 inch screen. I don't even know for sure why I want a Mac Air book so much. I don't have an iPhone, and I don't think I even want one, so it's not for the syncing capability. I use Google suit mostly, calendar, docs, Google meet etc. Probably because my Air Mac at work is so reliable, and easy to use.
I came home to DH cleaning the house. I like it!!!
It seems to me you have a good set up too. And your yard is tailored to the needs of your dogs. So here we are Peps, on the brink of retirement deciding to stay with our current home base. Everything works for you in California, except for the high cost of living. Everything works for me in Minnesota, except for the weather. Maybe there is no perfect place, only places that are awfully good, depending on our needs.
I had a nice long dog show weekend. Was close enough to drive back and forth each day, but it made for LOOOOONG days. Saturday was brutal - out of the house before 6 am and not home until after 8:30 pm. Sunday was much better! Didn't leave until just after 7 am and got home by 6 pm.
208.8 - a new low for me. My concerted effort to not piggy it up over the last week is paying off. I need to keep up this attitude. It is not always easy. Yesterday I actively was reminding myself that I wasn't really hungry or that my thought of having an ice cream while waiting for groups was not going to positively impact my weight loss goals. My hope is to go to Europe weighing less than 200 pounds. I have 11 weeks to make that goal, so it may be a bit of a stretch, but it's doable.
I posted of Buster and me on FB Saturday that really showed to me how my body has changed over the past 13 months. I was sort of shocked. It was the first photo that really triggered me to think, "You look thin." Then, naturally, my body dysmorphia kicked in and I started thinking, "Well, yes, comparatively, but you still have a ways to go. See the gut..." blah, blah, blah... I stopped the negativity and went back to looking at the positives. It would be so nice if those old tapes would finally just stretch and break!
I think I dislike hot humid weather more than freezing cold weather. Not a big fan of snow either, but I can handle a bit of it. The more I research other places, the more inclined I am to stay in my little house here in very expensive California. The weather and convenience of the area is un-paralleled. Though, I think if I found the "perfect" house in Carson City or in the greater Reno area I would be hard pressed not to move because of the financial plusses. However, it would have to be a truly perfect house and property. Where I am is pretty wonderful- big trees, the owls, the creek, the elevated deck, great medical choices, and the single story living... I have everything I could need close by.
Ann, glad you had a moment of peace. On the other hand, I decided to watch a youtube article about the move to target Green Card holders in the Trump Administration's immigration war. Sigh...
