Yes! Avoid Costco on the weekends whenever possible!

I'm wondering how your niece did, was she able to keep up the pace? But as they say, go big or go home. Is it even a Pub Crawl if you don't feel destroyed in the morning?

Liz, I'm guessing that you Miami game will be warmer than my Minnesota Gophers game. Have fun!

Operation house clean got a lot done. Deep cleaned the kitchen (which took hours) the dining room, the living room and foyer. After hours of getting up and down from my step stool, I pooped out, so we didn't get to the bathrooms. We'll each do one this week. Part of cleaning was dealing with the pantry cupboard. All tidied up, and items that had been languishing got tossed. I gave myself permission to throw away many items such as old vases with hard water marks and stained tea towels. I do my best to recycle and donate when I'm purging, but some stuff just has to hit the trash bin.

I thought I would fall asleep early last night after all the physical activity, but I was awake past midnight. I decided it was because the chi released from removing dirt and clutter was zooming around the house. :)

Today is laundry, a smallish paperwork task for work, and then a show at the Guthrie Theater. It's called All The Devils Are Here, and is a one man show about Shakespearean villains. It's had great reviews, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I have SO much paperwork, despite using my paperwork day for the quarter. I decided to use a sick day on Tuesday and get some more knocked back here at home.

Yeah, that's why I called it wine colored. It's described as red, but we know better. Someone else called it Cabernet!

218.0 The drop continues...

Ann, what a great time with your niece. You made me laugh about the pours at the bar. In my heavy drinking days I always thought the pours at the bars were skimpy! It's all in the perspective. But let's face it, I'm a guy who has never embraced moderation well, try as I might!

I suspect Molly is pregnant. She is not eating in the morning, which is a good indication of morning sickness. Three weeks into pregnancy is about when it hits. Ultra sound is this coming Thursday. Fingers crossed.

I have a day off from everything! How very, very unusual. I am going to get at least a little cleaning done. I noticed yesterday the doggy dust bunnies in the entry way look like tumble weeds! I may also try to squeeze in an extra workout since I have the time!

I had weird stress dreams early this morning. I dreamt I awakened to find the front door ajar and cars parked on my front lawn and workers had started emptying my garage of its clutter. Then while trying to help them organize, my BFF shows up, which is fine. But then suddenly a client I haven't seen in years shows up followed by a groomer friend with a friend in tow and I realize I have a grooming to do. BFF is angry that I have a grooming, then the client forgot to bring her dog and suddenly I'm living in a glorious house up on a hill that has a four bridge view of the San Francisco Bay, but I'm supposed to be moving or deciding to move. Then there was something else about the guy who was in charge of cleaning up the garage being interviewed by my client because he was some bigwig celebrity. Oh, the tangled dreams I dream!

I am off to have a leisurely morning, a second cup of joe and to enjoy the Sunday quiet. Toodles!

150.4, still in the damn 150's.

Just got back from church. Went early to attend a friend's baby dedication. They were having a chili feed fundraiser but a bowl of chili at 10:00 am didn't appeal to me. I just put cash in the donation box instead!

Time to go grocery shopping. I think I will save the Costco run for tomorrow. Landscaping guy is supposed to be here at noon to take down the plants. We've been waiting for weeks! Hard to get good help these days.

Not sure what else is on the docket today. DC1 hanging out here on their day off!

We stopped at 5 yesterday! She does 10-15 mile hikes regularly. So I felt as if I was cheating her by running out of gas at 5 to 5.5.

Trust me, we stopped at 5. I couldn't have gone a mile more. I think we've hiked 30 miles this week! I had 18,000 steps yesterday before my watch died.

What a great visit and how wonderful that your niece has grown into a great young woman! I can't drink mixed drinks these days and try to just sip wine. I drank water in between at DD's bachelorette pub crawl which saved me.

The big pub crawl of 2024 with the niece is in the books, and it was awesome! It's the most one-on-one time we've spent together in a long time, and it was thrilling to observe how INCREDIBLY WELL LAUNCHED she is! I'm so proud of her for what she's accomplished, both personally and professionally. She's so thoughtful, knowledgeable, smart -- OK, I'll shut up now. :)

But boy oh boy was I hung over yesterday! For one thing, bar drinks are about twice the size of home pours. The best I can remember is that between 5:30 pm and 1:30 am I had at least five ****tails. I can do the math and am aware or how many of my brain cells I probably killed. I likely won't EVER drink that much at one time again for the rest of my life. And frankly, I'm not sure how long it'll be before I muster the courage to order a single ****tail in a bar.

But as they say, we don't regret the things we did--just the things we didn't do.

Today I will mulch leaves and keep sucking down water.
