Your body needs to adjust from being sick. It will settle down.

Since you had this occur and your DD had a difficult time a couple of years ago at close to the same age do you ever wonder if it was caused by the same thing. Maybe a major shift in hormones?

I sometimes get a feeling of foreboding as well and it haunts me for a day or a few. Often after a while I realize there is a vague memory of something way in the past which is prompting it. But not always.

Sounds delicious - I make mine a bit mashed and a *****unky but I bet DH would like it more chunky. Interesting that you used some canned tomatoes for flavor... And no cilantro. I never heard the trick about the pits - great idea!

Greetings all

Another sunny crisp day here. We may get a few more. More puffy clouds. My plans for the day sort of fell apart. I did get a butt load of laundry folded. Ended up being on the phone a lot listening to friends complain about the woes of their lives. One has legit complaints. Her husband is in the icu with some respiratory issue as well as major dementia. Pretty good chance he will not survive this. I was going to invite her for super bowl but she has the cough thing too so can't do it. Will try to stay in touch. Other friend will be over tomorrow for super bowl and chili. She complains a lot too but nothing is really that serious.

So Bonnie that guac sounds awesome! A couple of serious cooking secrets in there pertaining to the tomatoes and to tricking the stuff to not get brown. Truly genius! Enjoy. We don't much care who wins the game except I am kind of leaning to the Taylor Swift factor.

Hope you can sleep tonight Ann. No more all-nighters with the NYT.

Liz major milestone to be at the same weight for a week! You nailed this. Yay.

Paula hope you have a great family gathering. Build your own anything sounds good. Yep we have been in this house 22 years. Had planned on getting a bigger nicer one but now I am grateful to have already downsized and have no steps. Same dentist all that time but he retired so now have new one. My last job was 5 years and 15 before that. My first lawyer job paid $15k and I thought I was rich. I was.

Lord CC you have a busy time. Yep you might want to get a guest car. Would be worth it. Hope your Dad is home soon and he is comfortable. Yay on more art. Gotta do it.

Ocean Diane that is indeed a *****in' trike. Can't wait to hear about it. Can you get a trailer for Sadie? How fun would that be. Or she can learn to trot along beside the trike. Yay.

Skipped the gym today so I will punish myself with adult paperwork. So it goes.

Coming up for air!

My dad is home after a week in ICU. Slow recovery. I think he's depressed too as this takes a lot out of him and every time is a step closer to the one time where his kidney won't recover and he'll be facing dialysis.

While he was in the hospital, their friends had scheduled a trip to AZ from MI for one of their birthdays. Very self-sufficient guests, but still house guests among the daily 3-hour round trip drives to Flagstaff. Plus cleaning the house of dog fur and dust. And my folks do not have a car here, so I was often left here to care for Kirby and be here for the guests while Claudia went to the hospital to be with my very cranky sick dad. I may just buy a second car, because what am I saving it for? I hate feeling trapped.

Also last week, I had my girls trip to Tucson and Tubac for the gem and mineral shows and Tubac galleries. Lots of fun. I bought another totem by the same artist. I wasn't going to, but this one has a large golden retriever at the bottom topped by animals a dog loves to chase - a rabbit, pheasant, squirrel, turkey, chipmunk, duck, and a lizard. I swear, it's my last one! For rock things, I got two big onyx bowls with the colors in my house (browns, golds, greens, tans) and a slice of petrified wood I thought would make a great cheese board. I'll upload pics to TT.

Also all last week, my shower was broken, because of course when life is falling apart and all the other bathrooms are assigned that would happen. It's got a Kohler digital controller to turn it on rather than faucets. Grr. So the error message could be one of 2 things, and of course the first part they sent wasn't the thing causing the problem. The right one was a $400 circuit board. But I fixed it myself with the new part and finally was able to use my shower for the first time in over a week last night.

The last two days, the company that does the clear slick strip of scorpion-proof coating was here putting that on the base of my house. Fingers crossed it helps!

I think that's it. Some stress candy eating going on here, but I honestly don't care!

I need to go back and read up on your weeks! Sorry for not participating, but it was one thing too many. Take care all!
