So I lost my post from earlier (inadvertently hit a link). Frustrating!
Weight 120.8. I had the hungry horrors last night in a way I don't think has happened since I have been on the tirzepatide. Maybe the 2.5 mg is too low a maintenance dose for me. Too early to tell though. I consumed a donut, something I haven't craved for 6 months. The remainder of them have been dumped in the trash!
I am very worried about will happen to a friend's mobile home in Venice when Hurricane Milton comes through. It looks like a direct hit there. He is in Virginia at a hotel, but who knows if he will have a home after this. Regardless I'm sure there will be no power and no water for quite a while. He and his wife only have a seasonal home in NH as an alternative and it has no water after this weekend so they can't stay there. I expect they will end up at another friend's home on the same coast ultimately but he may go to my condo for short term (assuming mine has power). Still feeling okay about my condo but the Tornado warnings are a bit disturbing. I guess all will be known tomorrow.
I forgot that DS was flying to Orlando on Saturday to work a conference next week. His co-workers were supposed to fly today to start setting up. The CEO of the company has said that the setup crew will fly on the corporate jet if necessary as long as the airport and conference center are open. What a mess!
Today I am going to continue washing some windows and finish the packing of my Florida box. Grilled swordfish for dinner tonight. Have a wacky Wednesday!

LOL - I thought the same thing about wins against the shark. I think some skill may be involved rather than just luck...

DD, you're right! It's so obvious, isn't it?
A side point is that it's wonderful to have a friendly antagonist in one's life. Friendly competition is one of the sweetest spices of life. When we're challenged, we come alive. Have I mentioned before that my favorite drug is adrenaline?

If the shark wins, it's because of lucky draws, if you win it's because of superior skill! Just like if there is an up tick in weight, it's not real weight, but a downward tick always is a real loss. I don't make the rules, I just live in this Universe.
No weight, on vacation!
Had a fun day in Door County. Started with a yummy breakfast at our B&B, then a hike to Cave Point park, beautiful blue green waters that looked more like we were in the tropics. Then on to a lighthouse. Not worth the $24 entrance fee but got a few pics. Dinner out at our favorite restaurant, I did order the decadent seafood fish I described yesterday. DH ate at least as much of my dinner as I did, probably more. I didn't mind a bit. At $50 a plate I would hate to see it go to waste.
Tomorrow we will go to an art gallery on the water and may do some more lighthouse hunting!
Greetings all
A great cool fall day here though warmish by our standards. I bet it was maybe 70. Started the day with scrabble. Won two, tied one. I beat the Shark again. I have just had really good luck with drawing. We discuss world and current events and are now trying to decide on how to vote on all the weird California propositions. I left with a bag of apples from friend's tree. The bear has not gotten them yet.
Speaking of apples, we watched a movie last night called "Jules". A flying saucer crashes in the back yard of a sort of confused old man and no one believes him. He is kind to the alien and feeds him apples. Nice story.
After scrabble I went to the clay store for new clay. Got someone to carry it for me. 25 pounds are killer to this old broad. Got a half deli sandwich and then went to the gym and did most of my walking. It was late and i was pretty tired. There was also a Grunter there. I think a different one. No thanks.
So Liz glad you and DH are making the home yours together. The news on Milton is terrifying. Bathwater! No wonder there are storms. Hard to believe that ocean could be 100 degrees.
Welcome back Peps. Congrats on closet shopping.
Dinner tonight might be hamburgers. Need a nap first.

Last summer the news kept saying the gulf waters are a 100 degrees. That seemed impossible. But when I entered the gulf water in Veracruz Mexico that summer, it was hot tub warm. It freaked me out! I thought this can't be safe for swimming, what weird things could be growing in water like this? And now we have these hurricanes just sucking up this heat....
Liz, I'm very happy to hear that Milton will probably not do much (if any) damage to your part of the world down there.
However, the "living in Florida scene" these days sounds rough to me. Something I didn't appreciate until Helene hit is how much warmer the waters around and south of Florida are becoming and how that increase in water temps sets the stage for larger, more frequent hurricanes. Also, the home insurance scene down there sounds increasingly onerous.
I also bet that you've had an earful of all this news and worries from those who don't live down there. I have no doubt that whatever challenges that part of the world offers that those who have chosen to live there find it gloriously rewarding. Truth is, no place is perfect or 100% safe. I'm just glad that your situation is comparably safe.
