Will new tariffs affect stuff from Ikea? Does it come from Sweden or actually from China? ds
Paula, you'd be a great workout partner! :)

Greetings all
Woke up to rain but it has slowed now. Hoping that continues as I need to go out and about. Countdown to cataract thing tomorrow and I am on the full eye drop regimen. Two kinds three times a day and another one tomorrow. Have to organize all the stuff I have to take today as early tomorrow morning I will be in a fog. Must have it all figured out tonight. Also need a store trip as I won't be able to drive for a couple of days or more. I can always send DH but I like figuring out my own stuff and knowing i have what I need. Guess I have trust issues. I am told they offer valium before the procedure and I plan to take all I can get. I will also try to get to the gym today.
DD what a haul on drugs! But I am glad they gave you "the works" and not just "oh lets try one conservative thing and then wait and see". Hoping your last day is pleasant and you get some pool time. Late check out indeed.
Ann WTF on your DH surgeon? Nails sticking out!!!!!! Well yeah Sherlock. Hope the procedure goes well and that there is relief soon. I guess feet heal slowly so make sure your DH takes it easy and does not overdo stuff.
4 Events Liz. Lots of stuff. I am convinced that those of us who have maintenance success are those who are most active. I think it has more to do with it than we realize. Ergo I am not doing so well because I am a SLUG. In fact, my spirit animal is a banana slug. But even a banana slug can do a treadmill (imagine the slime). Anyway good on you Liz for keeping in motion. You earned Italian night.
Interesting musings on parents and children and the lasting impact of peculiar mothers. It has always amazed me how some people had horrid childhood but grew up to be fine people. Others just continued on the path of disaster. DD so interesting that your therapist suggested you mother your mother. My own mother was fierce and demanding when I was young but became pleasant and kind in her old age. Unfortunately Crazy Pat intervened with a huge dose of nasty. I know you will handle things with grace and honor.
Paula glad that you and DC1 are cooking. A great family activity. And you end up with something good to eat. Win Win.
Yeah my post yesterday appeared to be circling the drain so I copied it and reposted. Thats why it ended up twice. I thought the first one was in cyber purgatory. Then it showed up. Who knows. Messing with tech stuff that only partially works is the biggest time waster of modern life. My doctor yesterday was trying to order some extra tests for me due to my bariatric history and all the computer hoops he had to jump through to get what he wanted and get medicare to pay was ridiculous. He gripes about it a lot. Lord knows how I would manage a law practice in this day and age, I bet it's all digital and no actual books or papers. No thanks.
Enough stream of consciousness, Must get organized and make a list.

It's funny how sometimes the same workout can be super hard one day and fairly easy in another.

Any improvement in your health? My DS called this morning and it sounds like he has something similar to what you have had.

Love what your therapist said

I love what your therapist said! How true! And you have such a wonderful relationship with both of your kids and a great husband to boot!
130.5. Almost there!
I count 4 activities for you Liz! A Justice walk definitely counts and so does going to dinner even if it means you don't have to cook!
Still cold in Wisconsin! Yuck! DC1 and I are making lasagna for dinner tonight. Happy they like to help in the kitchen! Bonding time and they learn some good life skills! They learned quite a bit of cooking skills in scouts but Mom's foods are always the best. All my kids can cook and love the tried and true dishes of their youth!
I did do the treadmill yesterday and today did a walking and strength training DVD by Leslie Sansone. It was only 30 minutes but it felt difficult today. In a month it will feel easy. The DVD is intervals of stepping (marching in place, side steps, kicks) and then upper body resistance exercises with lighter weights as you are doing squats or lunges. I was sweating! Feels good to be moving the body again, even if I need to talk myself into it daily!
Not sure what else is on the docket for today. Maybe balancing checkbooks, getting ready to meet with our tax guy or editing Hawaii pics!
Oh man Ann! That sounds awful for DH! Liz is right, too many surgeons have a god complex and can't believe anything could go wrong with their work! I hope they can fix his loose screws without too much pain and damage!
Reminds me of a story told by my defibrillator rep. An old, very thin man had his defibrillator erode through his thin skin. Instead of seeking help from the doctor, the wife simply sewed pockets into all of his shirts to place the defibrillator in, wires still being attached to the heart! They only discovered this at the man's yearly check in! Can you imagine?
