Those no see ums are nasty! We used to get them in the other house here in Florida but they must not be able to fly up higher because we don't get them on the 3rd floor here.

So the no see ums have made their debut (they say around mother's day here). I am covered in bites I never saw happening! 3 on the top of my head, 2 on my neck, 5 on my calf and ankle. Little *******s! it must have happened in my sleep as the leg with the bites is the one I stick out of my sheets when I'm hot. Grr.

Today I'm having lunch with a friend. The bug guy has been and gone. I have some phone calls to make (schedule the hvac visit to get ready for summer) and when I get home I have a project on dd, to seal all the weird little gaps around pipes and the hvac in my utility room because I think that's where the majority of the bugs are getting in. I have steel wool and caulking and I had the bug guy spray in all the nooks and crannies.

That's my list for the day. Hope you all are well! Hooray for the retirement countdowns!

Whoops ... I meant that we'll be moving all our furniture in. Now we have only a queen bed, a desk and 5 chairs.

119

Italian night was enjoyable last night - good food and company.

Today is an at home day all day as the ho****er heater is being replaced. We are going to eat the last steak that was in the freezer. I think we have a couple of other things in there to throw out.

I will start housecleaning today since we have to be around anyway. Only 3 more nights before we fly north.

Time to get out for the early Justice walk. Hopefully there is a little breeze this morning. Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Poor Kirby - no wonder he couldn't stop licking his paw. Good plan to do it while he is under anesthesia anyway. Justice wasn't neutered until we adopted him at about age 3 so I guess that was long enough to wait LOL.

Good luck with the crown prep. Mine is all done thank goodness. I have lost count of how many I have back there now.

Oh boy - I am sorry. If only they would REALLY get help. I would feel the same way you do. Instead of being able to look forward to the first days of freedom, you have an unpleasant task to do.

I ended up taking Kirby to the vet today. He's been licking and chewing on his right front paw for a week and when I felt around in there, he's got a bump way up in it between his toes on the underside. The vet was so young and cute and she loved Kirby! They took him in the back and shaved out his paw with basically two techs laying on him and giving him smooches and peanut butter, because he's not into being ministered to (and mostly wanted to lick her while she was trying to get the thing in his paw). She took pictures and it looks like a 1/2-3/4" sliver of something under the skin, but there was nothing poking out to grab onto. Not sure if it's sharp grass or a foxtail or a thorn or cactus barb (everything here wants to kill you). So we talked about it and since I have been thinking it's about time to think about neutering, I would do that and they could dig whatever it is out when he's under. So he goes in Friday. He just passed 20 months. That's 7 months longer than I made it with Fergus! He weighed 75 pounds today.
