IMHO, YouTubeTv is the right choice. Cable and satellite TV subscriptions are such a ripoff! I think of them as entertainment landlines.

Morning, all! :)
It's 19 degrees and sunny here with heavy frost on everything.
I saw my doctor yesterday about my postnasal drip and sore throat, and he diagnosed that I have HMPV (human metapneumovirus), this season's lovely head cold virus. See https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22443-human-m etapneumovirus-hmpv He prescribed Metamucil DM and (if I start feeling really bad) Azithromycin.
I've seldom suffered from respiratory illnesses, but in the last 24 hours I've learned that Metamucil DM does NOT like me. And I don't like it! Last night I felt like I was stoned--and not the good stoned, but the "Geez, I feel so much worse now than I did before I took this crap" stoned.
I'm about to take my second pill, but if it has the same effects on me as my first dose I'll happily just suffer my head cold symptoms.
Nonetheless, I got so much accomplished yesterday and feel good about that. This morning I'm going to take it easy and indulge in my favorite thing--soaking in my jacuzzi tub. At noon I'll head back to town to accomplish more to-dos--make final 2025 health insurance decisions, change my financial beneficiaries, cancel 2025 utility services, clean out my safe deposit box, pay my annual real estate and personal property taxes, line up furniture donations to Habitat for Humanity and Boys and Girls Club, etc. I know all this will end, but there's so much work involved in saying goodbye not only to a long-time home but all the services that keep it running.
So even with a head cold, it's a gratitude day. On frosty mornings like this I think of folks who don't have warm homes and beds. We are all so very lucky!

119.2 - I was worried as I felt I ate a lot yesterday. I guess not too bad if it is just one day. Our bodies are so weird in response to low or high calories.
I still have a head cold as it sounds like several of us have. But so far this morning it seems somewhat better and I slept somewhat better last night. I was super stuffed up late yesterday but I felt fine otherwise.
I watched 4 episodes of The Geek and really enjoyed it. DH and I watched A Biltmore Christmas last night. Very cute compared to most sicky sweet Christmas movies. Thanks Ann and CC! Sometime soon I want to watch the Christmas Chronicles as it is one of my favorite Christmas movies, not to mention that Kurt Russell is awfully handsome in it.
The house is fully clean and the sisters arrive tomorrow. We need to get a few things at the store to get ready but that's it before the next onslaught of company.
We are in a cold spell right now - 47 this morning with a high of 65 and strong north winds. The heat here didn't seem to be working so we called the AC/Heat company yesterday and they came to look at it. Apparently we have a heat blower that is part of the AC unit newly installed just over a year ago. The heater part is fine and heats the air up, but the blower is so strong that the air is cooling down substantially before it makes it out of the ducts. So it takes forever (and a lot of electricity) to warm it up. I ordered a heated throw to use instead from Amazon. The good news is that tomorrow looks like it is the last day of the cold spell so it will warm up starting Thursday and stay warmer until we leave for the north on 12/18. 15 days?!?!
In the meantime Justice and I are snuggled under a regular throw (I bet he will like the heated one). Have a trading Tuesday!

Picture on FB maybe? 6 layers is a BIG tree. Mine has 3 for a 7 foot tree. Big enough for me though I am always in awe of really tall ones.

Working on getting my tree up. It's in a different place this year because of the new furniture. Looks nice! I was worried. This is not a small tree as my ceilings are 12 and 16' in here and a small tree was going to look dwarfed. But it has its drawbacks. It's heavy and stores in 2 giant baga that I had to haul down the hall. And it has a lean given its height and weight. That would have been good to remember when I was putting on the first sections. But it doesn't start to lean until the 6th and final layer goes on. Oh well. Can't fix it. Can't worry about it.
I then remembered I started making crocheted "popcorn" tree garland last year and then Kirby came and all projects were abandoned. I am finishing it up now. Looks so cute.
That's it from here! Hope all are well!
Greetings all
Another sunny one. Works for me. I want to the gym and did my ritual waddling while watching the surf channel. Yeah one of these days I might get organized enough to find where the tv remotes are and watch what I want. They are probably locked in the upstairs office so I will have to inquire. Before the election one of the tv's had MSNBC on it but not anymore. Too radical I guess.
So after my slightly increased walking I went to the studio and made some more stuff. All this stuff will likely be finished just before christmas which is good. I am hoping to get ahead so I don't feel pushed. Talked to one of our co directors about various plans for the place. It's always something.
Ann thanks for the tip on Geek Girl. Sounds good. DH might like it too. He likes Emily in Paris. Another show we started last night is Murder Mindfully. It's a dark comedy about a lawyer who discovers mindfulness and uses it in dealing with his nasty criminal clients. Off beat and weird. I think it's German but is dubbed. We also like Acorn tv and thats where we get the Brokenwood murders. New Zealand show. Also George Gently, a British cop show set in the 60's. All good stuff.
GRRRR Paula you cann't gain a pound from 200 extra calories. We all know this. Why does the scale mess with us so much? I hope your doggie Emma does ok is is comfortable.
Yeah we got rid of cable tv a month or so ago. You tube tv now. I miss flipping through the channels and find all the menus annoying but I am getting used to it. How did tv get so complicated?
Ann hope you feel better soon. It's the time of year for colds I guess. No fun. You need a tv binge day.
We managed to get Poppys nails trimmed yesterday. Tesla has to be outsourced for that, she is so obnoxious.
Hamburgers tonight likely unless I can find something easier.

People like that are sometimes best avoided in the long run IMO.

I haven't had cable in years. I think the trick is to cycle your streaming apps. Maybe you keep 2 or 3 at a time. And at least one of those is a rotating app. You might get Hulu for a month or two and watch all the things you want to watch, then cancel and swap it out for HBOmax or Britbox etc. Rinse and Repeat.
I have YouTube TV because my folks do and my TVs are signed into theirs. I don'****ch it, but they watch football and golf and some news when they're here. I watched election coverage, but otherwise haven't turned it on in several months.
