119 - the official weight for the week. Stable weight for 5 months now without counting calories. I have a year of tirzepatide stored up thankfully to keep me here.
Yesterday was busy but all went off without a hitch except that DH ended up having to wait at the car rental place for almost an hour because SIL and I were having a good time at lunch. He decided to go run an errand and meet me there rather than waiting to go when I called and said I was ready. I felt stressed but he wasn't upset. Sometimes I am my own worst enemy.
The initial results of my blood tests are all good - great cholesterol, glucose and A1C numbers. My BP has been right where it is supposed to be of late (though I am sure it will be higher when they take it at the doctor's office vs at home).
Today we are at the house. I need to open all my boxes from SIL's home and wrap. I might plug in my little Christmas tree for atmosphere. Tonight will be date night as most other nights are booked. I plan to eat better for my meals during the day than I have the last few days. Though yesterday I had an excellent chicken pot pie at lunch and only ate 1/3 of it so there is that available. What a deal that was! The cost of an appetizer but enough for at least 2 meals and so, so tasty.
But first a Justice walk in the cold air (40 so not terrible if the wind is down). Have a flirty Friday!

Hard to get your heart into some things when you know your days are numbered at work. Have you told them you are retiring yet?
2-3 inches of Christmassy atmospheric snow would be nice. Even a bit more as long as the roads are dry when we have to embark on our travels. There might be snow showers today...

I used to have a recumbent bike too and found it much more comfortable to use than a regular exercise bike.

Oh boy, I hope the doctor is just being an alarmist. The MRI should be somewhat definitive on whether it is an ear tumor correct? Has Meniere's been ruled out? My MIL suffered terribly from years with Meniere's until the nerve in that ear finally died out and she became deaf on that side. There wasn't much available for treatment in those days so she spent several years in bed a lot of the time.

I need it cold at night to sleep too - In Florida I set it at 64 and have a ceiling fan on. Last night here was stifling because though the heat was set at 60 the furnace kept going on and off and the bedroom was much warmer than where the thermostat is.
You are so careful about taking care of yourself by working out and meeting with a nutritionist that you would think people would focus on the positives. I think people who feel guilty about not taking care of themselves and their own weight/issues sometimes deflect that by making negative comments to others who are doing what they should. But our brains can't recognize that and we hear it as the criticism we used to get from our parents, gym teachers, other kids, etc. when we were younger.
I have a friend who over the years has developed pretty serious heart issues due to his extreme weight and unhealthy eating. He was the most critical of me when I had VSG and also when I started losing again this year on tirzepatide. Guess what his doctor put him on recently? Yep, Wegovy. But he isn't taking it properly because of the expense (taking it half as often as he should). I suggested the compounding route and gave some reliable company names but it is obviously his choice on whether to explore it or not.

I hope Claudia and your Dad got there okay. Yes, mothballs do stink and the smell will probably hang around for a long time (but is better than rodent chewed wires!).

So scary, Paula. Saying a prayer you don't need to go through that again.

Probably mid to end of February? I need them to dog sit for me in February when I go to Tucson!
So far so good on the heat. They were thrilled it was 71 degrees here today and sat in the sun after not seeing it or spending any time outside in weeks.
Liz, what a busy time after a long travel day! I don't know where you get the energy. I guess we do what we have to do.
Today at work I had to have a peer coach observation. Every 3 years, observations are done by admin, but in between we have coaches who observe us. Then you reflect on their feedback in a evaluation portfolio that is submitted along with other data at the end of the year. The carrot is that if you do it correctly (its all graded by another group of evaluators) , you get a quality stipend of $1,500. It's so much work. Each observation requires a pre meeting, the actual observation, and a post meeting. In addition to the stipend, you HAVE to do it to avoid being in a continuous improvement plan the next year, the punish for not having a good portfolio, proving you are NOT a quality teacher. But I am not going to be there next year, so I planned on just blowing it off and forgoing the stipend. The coach talked me into it. Sigh. 2 days before break, it was not our best work. The kids tried, and I tried but we're tired. So then I spent 45 minutes reflecting with the coach about how I would tweak the lesson in the future. What a waste of my time.
But, one more sleep, then some time off. Happy dance.
It finally snowed here. The students were very disappointed we didn't have a snow day or at least a 2 hour late start. Sorry kiddos, 5 inches of snow is not going to do it. The snow is pretty and makes it more Christmassy.
I'd be interested to hear what Peps says, but my thoughts: I really found the recumbent bike helpful with strengthening my legs and glutes. I would peddle slower, but with a lot of resistance (for me). Later I moved to doing the resistance weight machines, but the recumbent bike was a great tool, safe, fairly comfortable (can watch TV), adjustable as I got stronger, and I did not hate it.
