Yes, but he took Paxlovid and is on prednisone so he definitely has been more up and about!
Happy Saturday. Gray, overcast and drizzly here. It is supposed to RAIN, but it's not showing many signs of impending stormy weather.
Liz, I don't really think of any level of yoga being gentle! LOL! I guess it's my bunchy muscle build. Stretching is just plain hard for me - especially hamstrings! So, my comment to the substitute instructor is, "F*^k off, love!"
Paula, so glad you seem to be turning the corner. How bad of a case has your DH had? Has he been as miserable as you?
CC, update on your dad? Did he make to Mayo?
Home fix it fiasco! I ordered a replacement latch for the door handle for the door from the kitchen out to the garage. So much for universal latch sizes... NOT! Door handle was also broken internally, so I decided to use a spare interior door handle. Oh, no... exterior doors are slightly wider so the handles are not interchangeable. Jerry rigged it so it works and we can use the dead bolt, but now I'm going to have to go out and get a whole new door handle and dead bolt set. UGH....
So, January I had to replace the water heater, replace the dishwasher and ended the month having to get replace a door handle. I'm not even thinking about the new roof that I need to have put on. The roof repair will only buy me another year or two... The joys of home ownership!
Good news is I'm down 0.5 pounds this morning, plus I FELT and looked thin in the mirror this morning. WIN! Nutrition therapist is actually happy/pleased I have hit htis road block. She thinks it's great I'm having to face these pitfalls because it's teaching me to look at behaviors without really throwing me into an eating disorder cycle. She makes a good point. However, that doesn't mean I am enjoying this stall and portion of the trip to goal weight.
I am in a mood to ramble on because I am enjoying a leisurely morning (Elderly client cancelled due to the rain that never was), but I have already rambled a fair share.
Satisfying Saturdays to all!
That is what would happen to me too. All of the credit history on the card we "share" could disappear. We have cars, house, all bank accounts in both names, but I forgot how credit cards work, there's no joint tenancy equivalent for them .
Sounds like you are on the mend thank goodness. Has DH been as sick?

132.5. Still dropping. At least I feel like I'm in the land of the living again! It will take a bit to regain some strength but I'm on the upswing!
No plans for the weekend. Just going to lay low and continue to recover. Liz, I am like you. Rarely get sick and if I do it is usually mild and short lived! This one threw me for a loop! Have fun a****er aerobics!
119.6, where I was 117.6 two days ago. I didn't eat that much! My weight really does move around a lot LOL. Probably more water weight than anything I would guess.
I am sure that teachers have to develop immunity over time. I think we all do it first as kids, then those of us with kids go through the cycle again when our little ones are doing it. My nephew and niece have come down with most of the illnesses their toddler caught in daycare. I have been lucky enough over my life to have rarely been sick and even now when I got COVID or have a cold it is mild. I didn't even catch DH's last bout with COVID though I expected to since we were close together when he was coming down with it. They say that immunity wanes as we get older. I wonder if that is because we aren't exposed as often or a consequence of aging?
Yoga yesterday was a bit more challenging than last week due to a substitute instructor. I liked the uptick in difficulty but not the instructor so much. She made us all feel like wimps for taking gentle yoga vs a higher level. I heard that people who had her as a substitute in the Pilates class weren't thrilled either. Regardless, I felt good about being able to handle a slightly higher level (though not inclined to move to a more difficult class). We spent the afternoon at the Beach Club and then went for Happy Hour at the main clubhouse. It was outside for the first time in weeks and was mobbed! Everyone was so happy to be out on a warm night.
This morning I have water aerobics, beach club again, then dinner with friends tonight. Busy days again. I am booking 5 regular activities a week now which is a lot for me. I will definitely hold off on doing more golf.
Justice will probably get his walk with DH while I do my water stuff, though if we can get out in 15 minutes I can fit both in. Have a sagacious Saturday!

Isn't it amazing how heavy 25 pounds feels and most of us were lugging around many multiples of that on our bodies before VSG?!

I have also had all the vaccines. I wish we had a Costco, but I have never lived near one. The closest her in Florida is 40 miles away and in Massachusetts, 50 miles.

I am on the same page as you. My first year in the classroom I caught everything! I remember being absolutely miserable over our February break - sick as a dog and peeved that I was in bed the entire 5 days off!
Now, after 30+ years amongst the littles, I can offer that my immune system seems to do pushups in the parking lot just waiting for some virus, germ, or bacteria to come along and kick it to the curb. Given the number of sick kids and adults I encounter on a weekly basis, I should be sick A LOT! I am hardly ever sick. Every day I've taken off this year has been for personal reasons - no sick days (though some were reported as sick days...)
Like you, I've had Covid 3 times. The last time was a just like a mild flu.
ABSOLUTELY! That is why I had to stop drinking them. I was fine for several years post VSG, but something happened and I am pretty sensitive now to concentrated whey protein and whey protein isolate. That's why I do the Fairlife ultra filtered milk protein drinks. So far they don't have the same effect on my gut as the drinks made from the whey concentrate blends or the whey isolate.
My guess the reason for my reaction is that I have developed an intolerance for the concentrated amount of whey protein. As a baby and toddler I was lactose intolerant, but developed a tolerance for milk as I got older. I have wondered if my lactose sensitivity as a child offers a clue to why I can't tolerate most whey protein products.
As for the urgency issue... I have had some reactions that were so intense that I didn't quite make it to the loo! Not fun!
