I looked up the deep plane facelifts. Look effective but expensive. The average cost (according to Google) is way more than twice what I paid for a facelift 8 years ago. I do feel like I may want a redo in another year or 2 - I am hoping the plastic surgeon I used previously is still practicing but he may not be. My DIL's father is a plastic surgeon in the Fort Lauderdale area but he would probably be a lot more expensive than my Cape Cod guy, unless he gave a substantial family discount?

P.S. My older brother had the "panni" surgery a year or so after the sleeve. He did well with it and his insurance paid for it. He worked for the post office. This is the brother that died of a brain tumor some years later. Glad he went for it. ds

Greetings all

Rain or no rain. That's it. DH did get the dogs out this morning while there was a peek of sun. I did my walking to the sounds of Marvin Gaye and then went to the studio. Did some clean up work and glazing.

So the sushi dinner did not happen. DH was not feeling well. So we are going tonight. After 30 years what's a day or two. He even went to the barber shop for a shave and a haircut. Fancy.

Hi Bonnie welcome back. Good to pop up after hibernation. I am seeing some little buds on trees around here. Yours will take longer but enjoy art class in the meantime.

Yep DD you want to go home which means you want to escape. Glad you have the outing and bet it's fun.

Golf Liz. Now you know why people swear. Good on you for keeping at it. Maybe take a lesson from the pro.

Facelift Peps!! Sure check into it. I did. Had a consult. But ultimately I just did not want the down time. But if you want it, do it.

Kudos to all who are doing well on the weight front. Which is all of you. Way to go.

R.I.P. Department of Education.

I've heard with proper documentation (rashes etc. it is often at least partially paid for!). Get documenting with your doctor girl!

Another winter day behind me. A light snow is starting to fall, but like most snow events this year, it does not seem it will lead to much accumulation. There may be a snowstorm Saturday, with bigger amounts, maybe 6-12 inches. We were hoping to visit my parents, but not if it snows that much.

Optimistically checking the weather reports for Orlando and it is looking very promising.

I have nothing planned for the evening, except recovering from work. Everyday around 2pm I think, I just want to go home. That's during my prep when I'm cranking out paperwork. Tomorrow evening is our monthly Pub Night with friends at our Art Center. I'm very glad we bought the season tickets, because it gets me out on a school night, and we see our friends on a regular basis.

Good to see you! Yeah January, the month that lasts a year... February is just a bit brighter and lighter to carry....

I think I would be such a good candidate for a facelift! My skin is saggy, but not thinning, or papery. 3 things holding me back: fear of pain, cost, but more importantly, I'm not interested in taking time to heal. And I know a panniculectomy would change my life, but I'm even more afraid and less inclined to devote the necessary time to healing... but if insurance would pay for it, it might be now or never. I assume Medicare would not.

Hola Friends!

213.4 - a weight I can certainly live with. Like Paula, I seem to be in a holding pattern. It is what it is, right?

I am having icky sleep so far this week. Three nights of light sleep, lots of waking up and a lot of dreaming makes for tough times when the alarm goes off. I am thankful, though, that I am not having trouble getting to sleep. For me, lying awake is the worst!

Dad was pretty sharp, in a good mood and mildly conversational yesterday. We had a pleasant visit. My brother showed up while i was visiting, so it was a nice family visit.

Workouts continue to be a highlight of my days. Having almost 70 pounds gone sure does make a difference when it comes to exercise. Duh...

As the weight has come off and the fat continues to go away, my attention to my skin laxity intensifies. I'm interested in a deep plane facelift when all is said and done. Apparently this is the new gold standard procedure. Not sure if my guy does them. Hoping so. I see him next week for my "11s", so I'll ask him. Might be a nice little "retirement gift" to myself. Though I don't really want to do it until I have at least another 20 pounds gone (25 would be ideal). Who knows if I will even ever do it, but it sure is fun to think about.

I like that I am able to "talk" about all these things here. Ron and my BFF are not always supportive of self image issues, so I keep a lot of this kind of thinking to myself in my "real" life. My eating disorder therapist knows me so well she has come out and bluntly said, "Oh, I fully expect you to have or seriously consider skin removal surgery." She actually thinks having the skin removal will HELP my eating disorder thinking. Who knew????

Well, enough deep thinking for today.... The sky is blue, the temperature is in the mid 40s, so it's feeling like a perfect California February winter day! No complaints after the downpours yesterday...

Gray and cold can be so depressing. Another month and spring will be just around the corner.

Your body probably needs to recoup a bit before losing again. Hopefully it will do so lower than before you got so sick though.
