As I recall last time I had my hair done here (highlight, cut, dry) it was close to $300. Way too much. The hairdresser I am seeing in March is in the next town and moved here from the other coast last year. She was the longtime hairdresser for a friend of mine on the other coast so the friend had her hair done here when she visited last spring. Her hair looked fantastic and I think it was somewhat less expensive. We shall see...

The one good thing about a superbowl party with friends here is that it is in our community so no driving more than 5 minutes and we don't have to be on the main road.

That dinner sounds wonderful - comfort food!

I'm sure that you will be very happy after the surgery. All my friends who had had it done have been. And yeah, doing much of anything with dilated eyes is pretty darn difficult. I hate when they do that.

Sorry Ron's back is hurting. Not much one can do comfortably when your back is in pain.

Same question as Paula. Sounds yummy.
I put pictures on the floor underneath where I think I want them for a few days to see if I like them in that location. Not exactly like viewing the, on the wall but I find it somewhat helpful.

VERY late post at 3:15 am on Saturday morning, so I'm putting this here. Yesterday was nutty busy, but I got a lot done. One highlight was an online consultation with an IKEA designer who was very nice and knowledgeable.
Also was dealing with changing my Medicare supplement insurance--a change made necessary by my move from MO to KY. But I've got a great insurance agent in MO who jumped through necessary hoops to be able to sell me insurance here in KY. He's one of those service people you guys were talking about above--really great service, attentive, works hard to make me happy.
Also got car insurance transferred to KY (package deal with DH's car insurance policy and our joint home insurance). Don't need to go into details--you all know the drills I'm going through, because you've been through them yourselves.
And YES to the hairdresser expenses and travails. I had my every-five-weeks hair color and highlight visit this past week, but no cut this time, still it's always so much money ($200 including tip). I know some folks pay more than that, but it gives me pause. My guy is really good with my hair, but maybe I'll get serious about trying to find someone cheaper but still good.
And I think I've finally found the right gym for me that's 1.2 miles from our new home. I loved my gym I joined last year, but it's a 15-20 minute drive away, and the last thing I want to do is make "the first rep" (actually walking in the door of the gym) too onerous to take. Pretty sure I'm going to go sign a one-year contract this morning.
At 3:20 am, that's all I got. I wonder if I can get back to sleep. If not, the New York Times Spelling Bee is now online, and that'll suffice. (Bad dog! Bad dog!)

You've got to get the new clothes! Its too much fun, and so nice for you and DSD to hang out.
A good hairdresser is everything! I had one DD and I went to for years, but during Covid she moved to Arizona. When Covid restrictions lifted, I asked my niece if she could fit me in after she saw her regulars, and I liked her work so much I decided to just keep driving the 60 miles one way to see her. Outside the metro, they charge a lot less, so I always give her a big tip. To me, she's worth more than she's charging, and deserves to be appropriately compensated.
Closing in on 6pm, and I've had a routine blood draw on the way home, been out to dinner, and am now getting ready to put on my jammies. I feel quite accomplished.
Our first sizeable snowfall is supposed to start tonight and everyone is losing their minds about a couple of inches. This use to be a nothing event when I was younger, but we're in the 3rd winter of below normal snow.
Today my previous supervisor was in our building and stopped by. He swiped a key card (where'd he get that?) and popped into my room. After I hugged him goodbye, I felt a wave of loss. He solved so many problems before they ever became problems. Its been 3 tough years with all the administrative turn over. He was a gem, and really had our backs and even better, a huge advocate for our students.
The music last night was outstanding. We've done 5 Pub Nights this year, this was the clear winner. Great evening.
We have no big plans. I wanted to visit my parents, but the snow will be heavier where they live, so I don't think we'll risk it. Maybe just a cozy day at home. No Super Bowl party on Sunday. We occasionally used to attend one hosted by a friend of DH, but they have moved. I am perfectly content to stay home, and I think DH is also.
