Greetings all
It's sunny and dry here. A blue bird day. But there is wind and makes me worry more about so cal. Talked to brother last night and he was leaving town so that is good news. He was concerned about some valuables at LA place but I say who cares. CC I will mention the gas pump idea for swimming pool water. I bet the fire departments have those down there as there are so many pools, but does not hurt to have your own.
So I am packing up the baby quilt to ship to nephew in so cal. He is safe from fires. Our other nephew is also safe but has a bunch of friends and dogs staying with them who were evacuated. Sounds like a circus and their kids are out of school.
Today's plans are gym, various errands and studio time. It's much more pleasant to be there on a sunny day as my room has big windows. It feels bleak when cloudy.
Got video from my niece and she is doing agility with the puppy she got from us three years ago. Looks like she is catching on finally after a slow start due to attention deficit issues. Fun to watch. Meanwhile another of the puppies will be up here Monday for a beach visit if weather holds.
Not much else. Good to hear from you Bonnie. Leave those lights up. Why not.
Ann $50k???? Your face is priceless but really???
Paula we are enjoying Hawaii vicariously. Live it up.
Does anyone have unflavored protein powder to mix into soup or other stuff? I vaguely remember doing some such thing years ago. Was reminded of it by Lunch Lady yesterday.
Stay warm DD and all. Traditional shopping malls now seem quaint. The big one out here is a ghost town.
Cheers all

Liz, would it be easier to just move your shot to tonight or tomorrow morning? I've done mine a smidge earlier or delayed it a day or two so I didn't need to bring it with me. Finding sharp disposal away from home is sometimes a hassle. We have a sharps disposal system at home ...
No coffee shop this morning. BFFs grandchildren go to a Spanish Immersion school, and the school was having a fundraiser breakfast. The food was predictably mediocre, but that's not why you're there. It was near a shopping center about 20 minutes from home that has managed to survive, and even thrive. The one 5 minutes from our house that used to be a big deal is now a zombie mall, with only 2 (out of 4) of the anchor stores and a handful of stores (rock on Victoria's Secret) operational. I took the opportunity to check out the clearance racks at Talbots, Chicos and Loft, and got a few nice sweaters at very nice prices. I do not need anymore sweaters, but .... I just can't resist nicer middle aged ladies sweaters at Amazon prices.
Not much in the way of plans for the rest of the weekend. DH has a full day of football watching planned, although the Vikings don't play until Monday night. I hope to enjoy some time to read and cocoon while I wait for warmer days. It was 27 yesterday when I left work, and while not warm by any measurement, the air didn't hurt my face lime the 19 degree days. Small mercies.

Thank you, me too. I?p'm hoping it follows the pattern of bringing an umbrella means it doesn't rain!
I got the idea watching an Instagram post from Ricki Lake. She had one. Sadly her beautiful home was lost in the fire, but at least they tried. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEoDh8uSkAj/?igsh=MTVpdjA5ZnA 4bXBrdQ==
They ran out of gas for it, no****er. So sad. So keeping enough gas on hand would be important.
I'd love to have my stuff up longer but I use the first available day after the year starts because another one may not be free for a while.

We still have the outdoor lights up. Indoors has been dismantled. Our excuse for the outdoor lights is it's too damn cold to go out there and take them down. So we might as well light them up and chase away the dark gloom. I'd say half to a third of the houses on our street that put up lights are still displaying them.
Only $50,000? Glad to hear there are still bargains to be had in these inflationary times.

Been lost in the holiday- maze - o - activity and still in the midst of decorations and Christmas lights that DH seems to enjoy during the dark winter season. I think stuff should come down January 1st and we made a compromise to keep Xmas up until the battery powered lights died. Damn batteries will not give it up despite being left on 24/7. Time to renegotiate....
The snow here is lovely and with the full moon about here, spectacular! Swanny often engages in after walk zooming and the snow just intensifies his enthusiasm for more. more, and more.
Even though 140 is slap in the middle of my desired weight range, being so close to it makes me nervous in the same way as 120 does you, Liz. The good I see in this is that I can take inventory; easy to see how slider carbs have taken too great a percentage of my food intake. The # doesn't matter- what does (and should) make me concerned is the " no big deal, will start tomorrow " tape I've been playing for days now.
If not now, when? If not me, .... who?
