I am also in denial about my capabilities even though I get reminded every time I have to get low to the floor.

Good morning! Not too much to report here...my weight seems to have stabilized for the time being, so that's good. DH's younger brother and wife are in the Bay Area visiting from LA, so we're taking the ferry into the city this afternoon to go to a Giants baseball game. Should be a nice evening for it, though I always bring a light down jacket because it can get COLD! The ferry leaves from the next town, about 15 minutes away from our house and goes to the SF Ferry building, which is a really fun foodie place, so we will poke around there for a while too before walking to the park. Coming home, the ferry leaves directly from the ball park, which is SO NICE! Looking forward to it!

Also, Kirby needs to be at least 2 or 3 before you bring in another dog. There is very sound logic and wisdom behind this advice. My guess, given Kirby's personality, you would be best to wait until he is closer to 3 rather than 2.

I got back from Long Beach on Sunday night. I spent yesterday being a slug. I really didn't do much at all, except visit my dad. I did welcome a new puppy for a week or 10 days. A friend is getting Bug's sister. Her house is being painted this week and the breeders are going on a trip to the giant sequoias. Silly me offered to take the pup for a week to 10 days. I regretted my commitment as soon as it was bed time. The new puppy barked, yowled and complained on and off ALL NIGHT LONG. I was cranky this morning.

Upping the dose to 10 mg of Tirzepatide on Thursday went well. No negative side effects. However, I did notice yesterday that my want to eat really took a nose dive. I had to keep on top of my nutrition yesterday, and actually didn't do a very good job at it. I realized at 8 pm I had not really eaten a proper lunch and still had not had dinner. Not good. I quickly downed a Quest Bar and got on getting some dinner. Having been a slug all day, I had not thawed meat, or gone shopping for salad makings. I jumped in the car and grabbed two grilled chicken tacos at the local taqueria. I finished only one. The other will be lunch today.

I'm down to 238. 2 more pounds until I hit -40 since Tirzepatide. But 43 down from December all time high. ACK! NSV - getting rid of all my show dog pants. They are just too big. I ordered new trousers. They are 4 inches smaller. I am hoping I didn't over estimate my how much I've reduced. What will be trickier is dealing with the suit coats. Those are too pricy to just replace. I will see about getting some of them taken in. But I can see that losing another 40 pounds will require a newish wardrobe. I'm hoping i have enough left over to closet shop. We shall see....

I still need to catch up on the postings made since last Thursday.

Hasta la bye bye!

Do you have a forced air dryer? Using that to dry him will make a huge difference in the shedding after a bath. When a double coated breed is clean the hair releases from the other hair more easily, so it seems the dog is shedding more. The forced air dryer blows away a lot of what is ready to release. Win, win!

This is basically the same one that I use: Forced Aire Dryer

My son enjoys mountain biking and hiking, and often goes solo. He carries the GPS fob, and that gives me some reassurance that if he gets injured, he can be rescued. Yes, follow your safety plan, because while you are out doing what you love, there are people in other locations waiting for your safe return.

Scale still showing a bit of a gain even though eating and calories have been on point. I'm not going to sweat it and will just trust the process. Not feeling as strong of an effect of the injection this week so maybe I will go up to the 5 mg on Sunday after all.

Boring day today. DH is working. Weather is nice so perhaps I'll take a walk after lunch. Pork lettuce wraps for dinner. I cook up ground pork loin with onions, peppers and shredded carrots, add Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce and serve in lettuce wraps. They are really tasty. I just love the sauce (I get the big bottle at Costco!)

I'm so glad you'll do well on your house sale! I was aghast at how much my little tract house sold for which was 225% more than I paid for it. As astounding as that was, the Zillow price is currently more than 300% more than I originally paid, which was a lot in today's dollars even then! Absolute monopoly money insanity.

I have backed off the idea of another golden right now. We went to the vet yesterday and the vet nicely suggested I should try a trainer. HAHA! He just gets so excited by the presence of people, he can't contain his enthusiasm.

I think the folks are going sailing this afternoon with neighbors. They bought a smaller sailboat, and want to sell the big one as it's a lot of work and so much requires height my dad's wife doesn't possess and doing things my 83 year old dad probably shouldn't be doing. I think they would love it if this family bought the big boat. (Though my dad is in that denial phase where he doesn't want to admit something might be beyond his physical capabilities).

I have chores to do today, but that's all. Getting my hair colored tomorrow, which is a week overdue and it shows. Today is a hat day for sure.

Scale is roughly the same. Grr. No alarms since the one in the wee hours of Monday. Still waiting for input from the people who put it in.

What is it about washing a dog that makes the shedding so much worse for the next week?? I have brushed, raked, combed and still I look like I'm wearing a hair shirt after he sits on me. One chore today is washing one of the new couch covers he already has covered in dog schmutz and a lot of fur.

I think that's all for me. I need to jump in the shower...

Take care all!
