I had to look up Amarone wine. I don't believe I've ever had it. Yes, life itself is the perfect reason to enjoy it. Cheers!!!

Greetings all

Steady rain today on the north coast. Started in the night. It's not a downpour but the steady kind that ends up being a lot. I did not feel much like going out but needed to. I picked up the three kinds of eye drops i need for the cataract surgery next week. Yikes it's getting real. Need to get organized and figure all this out. I did go to the gym and did my walking. Lots of cars there but no clue where they were as the inside seemed empty. Quick stop at the health food store for my favorite wine. Still have costco casserole for tonight.

DD wishing you health and safe travels. I bet a few days of lizarding does you much good. No fun to be on a plane with a cold. Get well and have a marvelous adventure.

Paula I think you are right to stay with your plans and not let DC1 change them. You can be supportive without facilitating. Enjoy the evening.

Liz I guess golf is about practice. Mainly a reason to get outside and enjoy with friends. Hope the group continues to be fun.

Ann hope the DH foot thing goes well. Not easy. Feet heal slow I guess. He will need much TLC. He is lucky to have you!

Not much else. DH is engrossed in ancient aliens. Crop circles edition. I might try to talk him into a silly movie like Caddy Shack. At least I got the gallery lease stuff done yesterday and a bit of other grown up stuff.

The dogs know it's pouring so they are essentially hibernating. Sounds like a good idea.

When are kids were little, we used to host a Valentine's Party for friends and their kids. I made pasta shells, heart shaped bread, and butter in heart shaped molds. Everyone else brought something pink/red or heart shaped. Bonus points if it was both! The kids would run crazy through the house hepped up on chocolates, and the grown ups would sit in the dining room, drinking wine, chatting and taking turns checking on the cherubs. Wonderful memories.

Rain is coming! If you need me, I'll be out back doing a rain dance to ensure it's a decent soaking.

I walked Kirby, vacuumed, and sprayed my house plants. The white flies are bad right now.

I think we are going out for Mexican food tonight. Dad continues to improve and started taking walks again.

That's all from here!

127.0 lbs.

DD, you and your sweetie so deserve this Florida vacay! I look forward to your pix and rhapsodies of warmth.

We have more cold weather coming next week, so I'm already planning my layers.

Hubby had a medical appointment this morning to plan for a surgery to correct hammer toe surgery he had 17 months ago. He's not pleased with the surgeon who did the initial work, but this guy's the local foot expert, so DH is sticking with him for the repair work, which the surgeon swears is minor compared to the initial surgery. That guy better be right or else!

Nothing new to report. A grey day, and we're just hanging out. But we're contented.

Tomorrow night we're going to a Valentines dinner party. We're bringing dessert--a Bundt cake soaked in orange juice, which looks fab (I picked it up already). Dinner will be bolognese, which sounds wonderful to me. We'll also take a bottle of magnificent Amarone, which I hope is still good (2012). No need to save it any longer for a special occasion. We're alive and in love and having a Valentines dinner with lovely friends. How much more special could life be?!

Such a fine line between support and enabling. I have been there. So hard to know how to help sometimes.
