Sounds like DC1 struggles with perfectionism and severe anxiety. Not a great combination. Is DC1 also on the spectrum? Their behavior patterns sound similar to spectrum kids, teens and young adults I have worked with over my career.
Greetings all
It's sunny here right now. Rain to return soon. Nice to "see" a bit of warmth. I went to the studio first today since lately I have been bagging it after the gym. I worked on a few new things and feel better about it. Decided to go to the gym and walk. Assorted Beatles music.
Paula you are a treadmill beast! Way more than me. Good on you. Sorry DC1 is struggling. Sometimes you just want to shake someone and say "power through it" but that never works. Guess you just go with it. Dinner sounds good.
Ditto Liz's dinner. Enjoy. Glad the new clubs are winners It will make your games more fun
DD hope you are poolside at this very minute. And full of charcuterie! And a Mai Tai.
Not much else. DH brought me some pink roses. My fave. I sort of like leading a dull life.

131.2, same which I am happy with. Low calorie yesterday and it is shaping up to be the same today. Baked tilapia almondine for dinner. Breakfast was a protein bar and lunch was 2 string cheese sticks. I should try and get a Fairlife shake in!
DC1 left work again today and is going to take a leave of absence. I know mental health issues are hard, but I wish they could just forge through sometimes when things get tough. They mentioned that next week their manager would be at a training and it was the first time as assistant manager they would need to prove that they could handle it solo. That scares them, so they decide they need to take a leave for mental health reasons (my interpretation of the situation). This pattern has been present since they were much younger. Life (school, work, even things they enjoyed like solo and ensemble in high school) gets tough, hard or scary and they bail (find an excuse not to deal with it). I would like to tell them the pattern I see but feel like we have to walk on egg shells around them. Parenting adult children is hard!
Did the treadmill again today, 3.4 speed again with intervals of 2 and 4% grade for 40 minutes. 4th day this week for exercise! I'm pretty proud of that, I have been such a couch potato!

.79" of rain - welcome!
Mexican food was good last night, but I hardly put a dent in the ginormous portion. And I can eat. I brought a bunch home, but not sure it will reheat.
Only a grocery visit on the docket today. I'm making quiche and salad for dinner.
"Piglet?" said Pooh.
"Yes Pooh?" said Piglet.
"Do you ever have days when everything feels... Not Very Okay At All? And sometimes you don't even know why you feel Not Very Okay At All, you just know that you do."
Piglet nodded his head sagely. "Oh yes," said Piglet. "I definitely have those days."
"Really?" said Pooh in surprise. "I would never have thought that. You always seem so happy and like you have got everything in life all sorted out."
"Ah," said Piglet. "Well here's the thing. There are two things that you need to know, Pooh. The first thing is that even those pigs, and bears, and people, who seem to have got everything in life all sorted out... they probably haven't. Actually, everyone has days when they feel Not Very Okay At All. Some people are just better at hiding it better than others.
"And the second thing you need to know... is that it's okay to feel Not Very Okay At All. It can be quite normal, in fact. And all you need to do, on those days when you feel Not Very Okay At All, is come and find me, and tell me. Don't ever feel like you have to hide the fact you're feeling Not Very Okay At All. Always come and tell me. Because I will always be there."

I just thought about what's in my suitcase. I packed in a decongestant fog yesterday (took a nap half way through). Could be interesting when I unpack. As long as there is a swimsuit (I do remember packing one, I hope!) it's all good.
Your dinner plans sound very nice! Lovely way to celebrate.
I am happy to say I will be dining in the airport with my Valentine. My fever broke last night and while I still have laringitis and congestion I am currently breathing through my nose. The prescription decongestant really worked. I'm so glad I called in sick for today, because part of the congestion clearing involved lots and lots of coughing last night. Anyhow, I don't think I'm a public menace anymore, so I'm going to the airport tonight. I'm sure both the humidity and sun will take care of what's left. Look for me in a lounge chair by the pool tomorrow.

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you all have a good one with your favorite person, dog, whatever!
Golf yesterday was good. The best part is meeting new ladies while being on a beautiful course in the sunshine. I have probably mentioned that our community is an Audubon property so there are birds galore walking around and swimming to add to the beauty. My new clubs arrived yesterday afternoon. They are gorgeous! Pre-owned in like-new condition so it is a better set than if bought new at the same price, but man they don't look like they were ever used at all! I've picked the golf bag I want at our pro shop so I'll be fancy-dancy for our Nine and Dine Sunday with friends.
Today's activities are uncertain as the weather forecast differs quite a bit. We were going to go to the beach club and celebrate the birthday of a friend in late afternoon but it may be thunder storming at that point. Tonight DH and I are having grilled filet mignon, baked potatoes, salad, and a good wine for Valentine's Day at home. I will put out the table cloth, flowers, candles, etc. Much better than dealing with crowds.
DD - your cold shall be dried up in the Florida sun!
Have a vivacious Valentine's Day!
