It really is my favorite Shakespeare comedy. DD loves it too. When she graduated from high school, her grad party was Midsummer Night's Dream themed. We had fun stringing fairy lights everywhere in the yard and lots of fluttering ribbons and flowers...
Yeah DD those reports are so annoying. *****ally looks at them and how do they ever help students? Answer no-one and nothing. This stuff was my pet peeve in the business world - annoying projects just so some manager can think they are checking up on everything The IRS supposedly has a Paperwork Reduction Act that they cite but it is worthless. One studio board member heard a rumor that our director was unfriendly so she wanted the director evaluated but that turned into evaluate everyone and voila: a bunch of bogus paperwork that is not needed and wastes energy. No thanks. Sorry you have to do this. Stepping down from soapbox now. Ds
My SIL did what seemed to me thousands of those IEPs (deaf ed) Her personality and work ethic (do it completely to the nth degree and 100000% correctly) made the chore seem maddeningly...., well, my sympathies are with you.
Missummer Night's a delightful play. I've had the role of Titania back in the day...fun.
We have a portfolio we need to do every year for evaluation. I asked my principal if she ever learned something she didn't already know about whether a teacher was doing their job well or not and she smiled ruefully. I don't mind being evaluated, and I actually enjoy observations, I want to show off my kids and what they can do, but again it's the silly paperwork. Your portfolio ends up reflecting whether you're a good writer, not whether you're a good teacher.
The last year before I retired they rolled out a new employee evaluation system. It took longer to put the information into it than to do a thorough evaluation of people. And if you were being a good manager, you should have been meeting with your people regularly and frequently so nothing that is going into that evaluation should be a surprise. A colossal waste of time.

I bet you will be glad when you are done with those eyedrops. Ten a day!?

I found them in FL too, so don't think it is regional. They just use a lavender syrup, look at the list of flavors offered next time you are out for coffee.
Is a Lavender Latte a Midwest thing? If so, I'm glad to be in the Midwest because they are delicious! It's hard to describe exactly. Have you had Lavender Macarons? Also delicious. Or a lavender infused ****tail? I bought some food grade lavender to sprinkle in my lattes at home, but I forgot about it! Thanks for reminding me Paula.
Peps there's no doubt things I need to do for retirement, places to call, paperwork to submit. Maybe I'm not feeling enough urgency because little stress here.
While retirement is not stressing me out, work sure tries to. They just rolled out a new way to do those reports I hate so much, and they've made them substantially more time consuming. Ugh. But then I think, what do I care. I only have to do them 2 more times. And then I am free, free, free of their nonsense.
The weather seems very dicey again with wildfires and storms coming for a big swath of the country. It's 55 here, so no complaints. Well see what Wednesday brings.
The show was delightful last evening. I've seen Midsummer Night's Dream several times, so I wasn't sure what new things they might do. The staging was so unique. A romp! Worth being out a bit late (10:15pm) on a school night.
