120

Nice night last night at the wine dinner at the clubhouse. The food was good starting with oysters and shrimp and main meal of sliced beef and paella. Unfortunately DH slightly scraped the front corner of the car putting it in the garage which he has been afraid of since we bought this place. Previously he always had a double garage door on a 2 car garage into which he would put one car. And he could pull straight in. We have a single garage door and the car has to be swung around just before going in. I have had garages like this so it doesn't creep me as much.

Today I play golf with a friend as a partner. She is nervous because she never played in this league before but it should be fun. Unfortunately it will be 60 with 20 MPH winds. Next time I play in this league will be 3 weeks from now after our trip so it sure better be warmer then.

I am making deconstructed pizza tonight - basically lots of pizza fillings in a casserole. I make it with turkey sausage (removed from casings), lots of diced tomatoes, onion, peppers, mushrooms, mozzarella, and turkey pepperoni on top. Not a lot of cheese so fairly low-carb. DH is doing WW because all of his exercising is not helping him lose anything. I know we have all been there. It is snacking and too large portions at meals that are his problem. He also blames beer which though it contributes isn't probably as big a problem as the food because he rarely has any and when he does it is 1-2 lite beers. He doesn't want to try the Glp-1 drugs as he hates taking any medications, even over the counter stuff. He has had success with WW previously but I don't think he went out socially as much when he did. I manage in social settings because I either have an appetizer or only eat part of my meal. He either eats the whole meal or if we split he will get something like a large Caesar salad with extra dressing as an extra. He has to do it himself, his way, as we all know.

Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Lists can be super helpful and satisfying as things are checked off, but sometimes frustrating when something lingers there because you can't get it done because of an obstacle.

Awesome you are getting your passport renewed. It's good to know you have options. If something tempting comes your way, off you go!

Greetings all

Sun is out today. I made a list because I tend to dread and avoid tasks which really are not that much. Writing them down puts them in perspective and I get to check them off. I seem to have a gift for messing up tech things. Finally got an appointment to renew passport since mine is too long expired to do in the mail. Cripes all the two factor verification repeated several times to my phone that I can't read anyway. Getting tired of vision purgatory. So I did my walking and went to the studio and worked on a few things. Did some banking. Check deposit is another thing I need to get an ap for but another thing to drive me nuts.

Yay Liz you found a good hairdresser! Nice. Bet you look great. Inspired me to make an appointment for cut. Paella! How fun.

Ann are you out of motel hell yet?

Ocean Diane is mah jong like duplicate bridge where they pre determine the hands? I know it is played with tiles and have only tried it once and don't quite get it. Bet you rock at it.

56 days Peps. It will go fast. Fat Tuesday meal sounds good to me. I was cold a lot too after the VSG weight loss but it seemed to even out after a bit. Meanwhile, hoodies work. It's the uniform around here.

DD I heard that Minn got the national guard out for the snow storm. My niece in Nebraska has a snow day from her teaching. Must be a big one. Glad you get a home day. There should be a "National Stay Home and Drink Tea Day".

Paula don't you hate it when they plow the driveway shut?

Tastee sandwiches tonight which will suit DH since he had work done on a crown yesterday and needs soft foods. Still, he got the dogs out for a walk.

Not much else. I listened to Joni Mitchel at the gym and also The Doors. Joni was as good as ever. The Doors seemed kind of simple and dated.

50s predicted here again next week. Same in Wisconsin? It's not tropical, but at least it means your face won't hurt when you go outside.

Your Fat Tuesday tradition sounds charming. Sorry you have joined the why is it so cold in here club. Hoodies and cardigans are survival tools.

All fingers and toes crossed that DC1 is fully passed the crisis.

129 on the dot. Shot day will be tomorrow and I'm just starting to feel a little hungrier. Calories still around 1,000 but before now I rarely got there.

Treadmill interval routine done for the day and tomorrow's Bible study reading finished.

DC1 back to work, hallelujah! Hopefully for good! They said they feel like they are/were having a manic cycle which hasn't happened in quite awhile.

Cold, blustery day with snow and howling wind! Yuck! Dreaming of palm trees, ocean waves and warm temps!

Chicken enchiladas for dinner! Yum!

While DH was at his part-time job, the plow came by. 11 inches of snow on the street, pushed up onto the 11 inches on the driveway. Formidable. I was worried the snowblower might not run as it hasn't been used this year yet. Oh, but what sweet sound do I hear right now? The rumbling, grumbling of the snowblower as it gobbles up snow on the driveway, including the glacier at the bottom, and spits it into the yard.
