Rain off and on but the sun is peeking. There are huge clouds off to the west so a big one is on the way. Sympathies to all of you in the middle part of the nation as the cold weather warnings are intense. Lots of people around here have generators but the cold is not life threatening as it is in the midwest. Stay warm all.
Yep Liz, anniversaries are bittersweet. Sometimes I think people near the end of life need permission to pass on. I often think of your struggles with Paul near the end and how hard it was - especially when someone I know here has the same issues. Have a peaceful day. And yay you one playing golf. Sounds like a fun bunch.
So I did my walking today and amused myself tinkering with the treadmill comtrols. Absolutely nothing interesting was going on. Studio time after that. There is some new form that incorporated businesses have to file with the IRS disclosing benneficial owners. Purpose is to track money launderers. I think I have it figured out but it requires electronic filing with uploaded images of IDs and such so one of our younger people will do the tech part if I get the data. Works for me. Lots of business stuff happening at this time of year. Did some other adulting such as call the credit card company about bogus charges and make vet appointments.
CC home service requirements never end. At least you can find someone to do stuff. Are there balloons at this time of year?
DH brought home pizza from his lunch group but it's pepperoni so I won't eat it. Got a beef pot pie for tomorrow and thats as far ahead as I can think.
Yay for on line shopping Ann. Hope you are having fun with it and it's not a drag. Stag snug.
A friend called last night and had had a car accident. She is fine but car is totaled. It was hard to get her to explain exactly what happened. Part is an issue of hearing but I fear she has some cognitive decline. I am concerned how the accident issues will sort out. Guess we will find out.

I am a HUGE fan of generators (I had one on the Cape). Makes it possible to hunker down and snuggle.

Here in Kentucky we're readying ourselves for the big Polar Express headed our way. Not sure the predictions will materialize (12-15 inches) on Sunday with freezing rain, stay-at-home warnings, etc.
Happily, we have a great big Generac that powers all the house if electricity goes out.
Today we're window-shopping online for inspiration about furniture, rugs, draperies, etc.
Not much else to report here. At least we don't have Christmas decorations to take down!

Oven repair guy was here at 8:30, so that's done. Gardeners also been and gone. Grocery store and bank today and out to lunch, then a quick visit at my friend's art show opening. Shower is up next.
We are watching Day of the Jackal on Pea**** with Eddie Redmayne. Quite good.
Still warm and dry here...
Anyway, off to shower!
You will be glad to get to Maui after the cold!

141.8, like Peps, up, down, up down! Come in 130's, you know you want to get here!
Thrilled that DH's MRI was normal and very much looking forward to our Maui trip! Packing starts today! Christmas decorations all down for another year!
Weather here is quite cold and will be getting even colder (below zero with windchill), single digits without windchill! Making chili (appropriately) for dinner tonight. It's actually not my favorite (made it too much for Ben when he was alive as it was a favorite) but the rest of the family loves it! I'll be good for one bowl!
Need to get my business taxes done before we leave so I'll work on that today. DC 1 hanging out today! Not much else happening around here. I sent DH to the grocery store so I don't have to deal with the cold!
120.2 - Worrying about weight gain (I know - what the heck?). I had weighed closer to 119 since early October except for one weekly weigh-in on 11/30. Hmmm...That was right after Thanksgiving week and this is right after Christmas/New Years week. Might there be a common cause?
Today is the 5th anniversary of DH's death. It was a peaceful passing in the end but the last few years and weeks leading up to it were certainly not. My recently deceased BIL was the only other person with DH and I when he passed away. Youngest DD had just come to see him and probably wasn't even back to her car when he let go. I feel like he waited for her to say goodbye even though he was not alert anymore. Their group in heaven is expanding.
A little worried about SIL, as her doctor had her get a full PET scan, brain MRI, echocardiogram and other tests because he saw what could be a little fluid in one lung. She has looked terribly frail lately because she has had two back fractures and pain around her sides which she thought was related to her back but what if it wasn't? No news yet so I don't know if that is good or not.
Speaking of brain MRIs, Paula I hope that the normal result at least rules out the really bad stuff even if he still doesn't know what is causing the vertigo?
Yesterday's golf was good! I hit the maximum on almost every hole but I did get par on one hole and I did get the ball over the water on the one hole I had to on the second try. I met some nice ladies in our foursome who taught me out a lot. Two really good players and one woman probably a bit younger than me who wasn't as good (but obviously better than me). I got a 70 on 9 holes. LOL! But I already signed up for next week which is the official opening of the winter season. There will be a much bigger group - there were only 22 playing yesterday.
On this issue of early takedown of Christmas decorations: In the past I didn't do it until epiphany either but this year I felt like we had so much going on that I should use the one down day I had to do it earlier.
We leave in about 2 hours for the weekend in Fort Lauderdale with DH's family. Packing is tricky as there is a cold wind from the north this weekend that can make it really chilly but DSS has planned poolside activities and dinners outside in the evenings.
Have a Flourishing Friday!

I love the sound of singing tree frogs! We don't have them here.
Yes, balance is definitely an issue for all of us of a certain age. I got pretty good while actively in Yoga (gentle). I may need to get back to that now that I have a functioning shoulder again.
