Her idea is overblown. Have your cookie exchange anyway. It'll be a lot more fun and relaxed. BTW, where I come from, we'd just call her a *****!

122.1. About the same I think!

Yes, 2 more full days here and then we will take off early Wednesday morning.

Game day (night) for us today. It's going to be freaking cold! Layers will be my friend but might not be enough!

Tomorrow is POD load day. Most of the stuff is already in the garage so hopefully it will go quickly especially with the help we have hired!

Sorry about your inconsiderate neighbor's Liz. You two should definitely have been invited. I've heard rumblings of some of that kind of behavior in the community we are moving to. A friend of a friend lives in a newer section of the community where the homes are a *****eaper and smaller (since that's what the builder's can sell right now) and she indicated that some of the residents in the older sections have a we are are better than you attitude. I sure hope not! We are all equal humans no matter what our bank accounts say or what our former jobs were!

A few more days of high 70s, then fall/winter arrives in the form of low 50s and maybe some rain for a stretch. I will soak it up and convertible away!

Today I need to go to the DMV (I always forget what they call it here - MVD? Motor vehicle division). I paid off my SUV and they sent me a CA title that I need to have switched to AZ. I also have several phone calls to make, which I despise doing. And I need to wash dirty Kirby. He's not a stinky dog (we've had goldens who get smelly), but he doesn't smell or feel clean either.

I might go to Costco too, don't know... I'm a third of the way there at the MVD (honestly, MVD just sounds wrong)

Take care!

This may be one of those moments where being the more generous person is the better route, despite your feelings being understandably hurt. First, if your exclusion was intentional (which I don't think it was, seems more thoughtless rather than malicious), then you inviting them shows it didn't have the intended effect. Second, kill them with kindness. It's hard not to like people that are nice to you... Either way, it makes you the more magnanimous good guys.

117.8

Apparently the 40 degree low for today which I thought started this morning won't happen until close to midnight. It is about 72 right now and the temperature is supposed to drop throughout the day. Tomorrow morning it will be 40 with a high of about 60. Brrr...

Yesterday we had a good time watching the Patriots win at the Beach Club. Good group of New England fans there and a great atmosphere to watch it in.

Today I have water aerobics (lucky that it isn't 40), then a dermatology appointment mid-day to check the filler around my mouth to see if I need more. I think I do but we shall see what they say. It is definitely better than before the filler but looks like it could use more. This dermatologist likes to do it this way to make sure it doesn't get overdone which I am glad about.

I need to think of something to make for dinner. Maybe pot roast like Diane? I haven't made one for so long (not sure I have a slow cooker though - will have to check in the cabinets). Have a momentous Monday!

Pot roast - yumm. This might be the week to make some of that here. It is going to a bit nippy down here for a few days.

Yes, we are in a condo so the neighbor's doorway is next to ours on the 3rd floor landing. The party was sort of an open house (from what I was told) because people started stopping in around 5. At its height, the people spilled out onto the walkway which is how we ran into some of our friends. And the lanais are all staggered in the back so you can't easily see in them but you can hear people out there which is why we were kept up that night until about midnight because of the noise from the lanai. Anyway, as pointed out apparently these people that so many think are delightful don't care much about how we feel. Oh well... Can I be just as rude and not invite them to a building gathering? Somehow I don't think I can but maybe it will be at a time when they aren't here.

Sounds like a perfect beach plan in Brazil. Can't wait to hear all about it. Coming soon, so winter will be behind you for a while anyway.

Serving wine on golf courses and dog shows? Why wasn't I informed until just now?!

Greetings all

Checking in while my hair dries. It is another calm sunny day. I will be going to the gym shortly. I may try to get DH out to take a walk with our without dogs. Nice day for it. I still use the treadmill because I just feel safer - not likely to fall. Might stop in at an open house nearby.

Meanwhile, a pot roast is in the slow cooker and is starting to smell nice. Years ago when I was employed I would sometimes put a pot roast in, go to work and forget about it, and then open the door to a wonderful welcoming smell.

Hmmm Liz, those people should have invited you. CC is right - different than a formal dinner. Your building is not huge right? And I have been thinking about weight bearing exercise. What if you wore a small weight belt while walking Justice? Two activities at once. But yeah it seems absurd to try to add weight for any reason.

Paula two days right? How freeing! Looking forward to your adventures in moving.

Peps Best Puppy at Napa! A big deal and money!!! I met up with Peps at those shows years ago. The show where you buy a glass of wine and keep the glass and get refills. Still have mine. Good luck today.

DD glad to hear the beautiful buck will be spared. As you said, he didn't get that way by being foolish. How interesting that wildlife camera must be!. Stay warm.

Our team won last night and the new kid quarterback was quite good. There is hope for our team. I am so getting into college football I feel like I should talk to CC's Dad.

Well if I don't get moving soon I never will.

Winter is here! A very light dusting of snow here reminds me once again that another year has come and gone, and I forgot to move to Florida. Well, at least Paula remembered! I am in full on winter gear this morning, wearing a bulky winter sweater and fuzzy socks. The windchill makes it feel like 14 degrees. DH was so sweet. He ran out and grabbed my NYT Sunday paper so I didn't have to venture out.

My brother sent me a video from the trail cam on our hunting property. It featured the most gorgeous buck, with a huge rack. He was giving off Bambi's Prince of the Forest vibes. I asked DH not to shoot this magnificent creature next weekend if he saw it. He said, you know if it passed by me, I don't think I could bring myself to shoot it. He then reassured me that nobody will probably bag him, because he must be a smart and cagey to have lived as long as he has. The trail cam is very entertaining, and a little spooky. Without it I wouldn't know that there are wolves, huge black bears and even a bobcat wandering around in the woods I used to play in. (Our land is a section of my Grandparent's farm).

The concert last night was marvelous. The vocalist, named Dessa, brought out a lot of younger people that I don't typically see at some of these venues. That's awesome, because if the art scene is going to continue to thrive in Minneapolis, they'll need them to turn out.

I think the trip planning to Brazil turned a corner yesterday. We want to visit a very pretty beach area north of the city we will be staying in. For many years it was bypassed by tourists and remained a collection of fishing villages. Tourism has arrived, but it sounds like it retains some of that laid back charm. We are going for 10 days, via bus. (About a 6 hour trip) There are some beautiful, but remote resorts, but we chose a fairly plain hotel, in a historic town, where we can walk to one of the many beaches. Our thought was it would be easier to explore multiple beaches from this location. We will use Uber to deliver us to a new one everyday. The first day we are there, we will go on a guided tour that will introduce us to 10 beaches! That way, we can pick out some favorites. It's a long held dream come true.

My weight continues to hold steady, and I don't even always remember to weigh each morning. I'm pretty much on auto pilot, besides a midday reckoning about how protein consumption is going. These last few years are probably the longest stretch of time where thoughts of food (either food noise or dieting) haven't been predominate. It's nice to just be.
