CC, I finished Tom Lake and I really enjoyed it! It was refreshing to have main characters that were functional, grown up people. I welcomed a portrayal of a good marriage, and the fierce love the main character had for her children. That the plot, the rising action, came from an older woman's reminiscing about her youth made me stop and think about my "before" time. I was never on the cusp of such a momentous choice, but I can see that once upon a time, I had the opportunity to pursue a less conventional choice and my life would be different. I like the life I choose, which I think was one of the themes. The fact it focused on My Town was okay with me. Not my favorite play, but I wasn'****ching it be performed.

These medications do feel like a miracle which is why we hate to give them up.

Sea foam is such a pretty color especially wearing it near the ocean.

Congratulations on reaching the finish line, Liz!

More heat here. I really do need to fertilize a few of the trees today, There are 3 that are dead or dying. Two I believe are still under warranty. But the rest of the trees look pretty good! I was also thinking this morning how nice the backyard looks. I used to think it was sparse from the previous owner's, but it's filling in nicely. I have a few plants to get for things that died over the summer, but it's not a lot. Two along the driveway, 5 in the back? I think Fall planting for perennials is a good thing, so I will go on the hunt. I may head to Prescott for that as I've already looked at the two stores here and didn't see anything. Some may have to wait until Spring unless I can find stuff.

I made that Thai soup last night. While it was good, the effort/clean up to payoff ratio was not favorable, so I won't be making it again.

Otherwise, I shall be cleaning today. The dog hair is piling up! Have a great day!

I hope there is some trizepatide solution in the works. I still don't see how there will not be a shortage once everyone tries to get it through the traditional pharmaceutical settings. DD is going to try and switch to her own insurance. Lots of hoops. One thing in her favor is she has tried other medications already like Topamax and Saxenda. But at least that might be an option for her. I know it's not for a lot of the tribe, that your insurances are just flat out no.

Yesterday, after coffee I went shopping at Macy's and then to Costco. I got several pairs of pants/ trousers in the Final Act section. I am happy to try out the new wide legged jeans trend with pants that cost $10. I do think this look is fresh and cute, but I'm not sure it's cute on me, and that it's going to last long enough to pay actual retail prices. I also bought a sequined tank in such a pretty shade of sea foam green for $9, although I have no idea just how I'll use it. Might have to season in my closet for a bit.

The Vikings are playing in London this morning, so DH starting watching at 8am this morning, while I've been reading the paper. They are currently winning, but every Vikings fan (or their spouse) knows heartbreak often comes in the 4th quarter.

My school's football team is 5-0 right now, and the kids are getting really excited. Are we heading for the state play-offs?

On our study of 2, DH had a headache after his Pfizer Covid shot, but did not get a fever or body aches as he had for the 4 previous Moderna shots. So not entirely conclusive, but in our household, Pfizer has the edge. I had no side effects at all from Flu or Covid vaccine on the same day.

On the prescription Trizepatide front, DH says he feels more restriction than with the maximum Wegovy dose. He is taking 5, so he had room to increase his dosage. It's too early to know if he's lost more weight.

Wegovy 1.7 about every 9 days is keeping me snuggly in maintenance. Feels like a miracle.

Weight 119.4 (unchanged). I seem to have found a new set point. I really don't want to give up the tirzepatide. I like how I don't have to work at keeping my weight here and I like my less sore joints. I hate that it is likely going to become difficult to get.

Yesterday my goal was to be done at the house by noon, but I beat it by 2 hours. DH was a big help in cleaning the refrigerator and doing some of the sweeping. When we got back to DH's home we loaded up the remaining junk from the basement and garage cleanup here and got rid of it all at the dump. I'm going to attempt to get some sort of estimate for installing the mailbox so I can leave it with the new owners.

Today we have a few remaining items to find places for. I brought pans for baking since they didn't seem to have any here but since they won't be used much, they may get stored in a bin. First we have to sort through and organize what is here. This evening I am going out to dinner with my two SILs to celebrate the birthday of one of them. We are meeting at a restaurant we like located about halfway between where I am and they are now.

Feels like a semi-relaxing day compared to the last couple of weeks. At this point I would be thrilled to have a day when there is NOTHING I feel compelled to do. Anyway the bus leaves at 7:30 so I better get dressed (it is Sunday breakfast day). Have a somnolent Sunday!

Feels good when you feel like you have returned to where you want to be doesn't it?

I haven't wanted a sugary drink since I had VSG. Maybe my brain is getting a message to stay away from that stuff!
