A lot of work to have family coming and going for the holidays but so worth it. Reminders that life is short need to be heeded.
Our kids are also mostly on the same page with us politically which makes it easier. But I can't help but remember how my mother, a die-hard democrat, loved a heated political discussion. She and her friends could come away respecting each other even if their political views differed. Not so these days.

147.5. I'll take it. The loss sure is slow going now!
I wonder if the rules for continuing on a GLP 1 would allow for maintenance meds. If not, that's crazy. They wouldn't make someone stop taking blood pressure, diabetes or cholesterol meds once the drugs got them to therapeutic levels, the same should hold true for weight loss meds. The ignorance is frustrating!
Cleaning day, getting ready for the Thanksgiving crowd. DS3 will get here tomorrow, DSD and fiancé will get here Thursday morning, DC1 will come over Thursday and DS2 and bestie will get here Friday night! It will be a bit to juggle arrivals and activities with meals but it should all work out. DS2's bestie is staying over here Friday to avoid her family as long as possible as they have differing political views and the conversations make her uncomfortable. I'm glad we don't have that here. My kids snd I are on the same page politically but even if we were not, the conversation wouldn't go there! I really do feel bad for people that have a lot of family drama. Thankfully I have not had to deal with that much! Hugs to any of you that do, I know this time of year can be particularly stressful!
Have fun at Universal Liz and I want to see pics CC when your new decor is all done. How exciting!

I'm sorry about your BIL. So unexpected when someone is otherwise healthy.
Had my dental cleaning and check up this morning. My dentist and hygienist were joking I was the worst kind of patient from a financial perspective. Ha! I thank my dad - we have the same great teeth.
Then my interior designer came with the installers to put in the banquette in the family room. It looks great! Still needs back pillows, a table and 2 chairs, but the bench part and seat cushion is here. They brought a few other pieces, took the dining chandelier shade away that's fabric was coming unglued, a mirror that was scratched to be re-glassed, hung a painting and a different mirror and some new accessories. It's coming together!
Then I went back to Costco. Grr. Got my prescription and updated my card that hasn't had my picture on it for 20+ years. The guy at the counter was so cute and flirty and winked at me when I left. Fun.
Regarding Medicare and weight loss drugs, politics is dirty business on all sides. When you see Medicare Part D premiums jump next year, it will be because the current administration created a program to push off increases to Medicare Part D (estimated to be 179% for the average plan) caused by the Inflation Reduction Act until after the election so it wouldn't hurt Biden/Harris. So even if Medicare covers very expensive weight loss drugs, you will still pay for it some way (ie higher premiums), just not at the pharmacy cash register.

Anyway, Other than a meeting with the landscape guy, I have nothing else scheduled, but lots on a list to do.
Take care all!
No weight today (at Universal). Everyone got here okay yesterday so we are meeting in about 2 hours to begin the exhausting day.
Tough news last night. My SIL called to tell me that my BIL (her youngest brother) had died suddenly of a heart attack. Christopher was only 65 and had always been a fitness nut and for the most part ate healthy. He hadn't had a drink in about 20 years and didn't smoke. He had some heart issues but they didn't sound that serious. He never married or had a partner but had lots of friends so many people to find. He died while taking a walk with his brother who he was visiting in Arizona. Lots of logistics for them to work through as he lived in Massachusetts and I assume will be buried there with his parents. His siblings have a challenge. I will likely be flying home for a few days next week. Calling my kids to tell them last night was a tough task.
I just saw in the news that Biden has proposed changing the Medicare law that prevents coverage for weight loss drugs. The new rule would supposedly only cover them for people with a BMI of 30 or higher which means those of us taking them for maintenance still wouldn't have access. In fact I wouldn't have qualified when I started taking them as I was overweight not obese. But the new administration may block it anyway.
Not much else to report. Hopefully my feet survive the day. Have a tippy Tuesday!

Not much to say, A very ordinary day. I'm tired. No doubt I need more protein. I will make myself drink a protein shake here in a bit.
It's so cold! Highs of 20 this week. Maybe next year I'll be somewhere warm part of November.
A few more days and my kids will be home. I haven't seen my DD since the end of July!!! Another bonus of retiring that we will be able to fly off to Boston when I start to miss her too much.
Greetings all
Off and on rain today. At least I had some good coffee from yesterday's errands. I did my waddling at the gym today. No grunting heard. I was amused by watching a young woman with a personal trainer do strength training. Good on her. Ater that I went to the studio and did some glazing and went over bonus stuff. Discussions of building purchase still out there but I am not diving into it until things are further thought out. Sometimes people seem to think that because of my background I will just perform all these business tasks automatically. Maybe I am paranoid. We shall see.
After studio I picked up payroll and went to the hippie dippy grocery for thanksgiving supplies. Spent a lot on wine but they were having a sale and I want to take good stuff. Also got turkey roll and roast beef for us. Now I am enjoying delicious fair life milk which almost tastes like a milk shake.
Paula I hope your puppy dog is ok. No fun when they are sick. Enjoy the holiday prep.
Wow Liz, Universal in Orlando! You are brave to take that on on a holiday. Fortitude needed.
Thinking about musicals. My favorite old ones are Fiddler on the Roof and My Fair Lady. Of course, the all time best is Les Miz. Well the best we will get around here is Tuba Christmas if we remember it.
Peps you need a bigger font on your post! I did discern you did some closet shopping and need a tailor. Good news! Hope you can beat back that sinus infection or whatever it is. Takes so much out of you.
Home remodel Ann! Lot of work. When we did our bathroom the contractor offered choices and I was not too eager to look elsewhere except for bathroom light fixture. It is a logistics nightmare to coordinate all that stuff. And yeah then you pay.
Not much else. There will be scrabble tomorrow so we will hear the tales of our person who just went to antarctica. Penguin report needed.

Sounds like you may have a secondary infection that may need antibiotics to chase away.
Remodeling vs moving - that will be your challenge to decide!
And it did not escape me that your number is now 217, not 219. Yeah!

217.3 this morning! Couldn't resist, Liz. I do think you have a point about wanting a 1 in the hundred place on my weight.
I have a phone appt. with my doctor this afternoon at 3:50. The congestion in my sinuses and now bronchia and lack of energy are leading me to believe I have some sort of secondary infection. No fever, but I do feel just kind of BLECH....Run down, but functional. Today marks 3 weeks from onset of the cold. Should be much better than it is.
Dog show was pretty good this weekend. An owner handled group 1 and group 4 for Buster and he is really starting to get the idea of what I want from him. He's also such a willing boy! I think he and I will have a lot of fun the next couple of years!
I wore one of my closet finds yesterday. My friend commented that it was a lovely suit coat, but it needed some "adjusting". I think I will hit the tailor sometime this week. I'll get the wine colored suit fitted, the jacket I wore yesterday and another grey herringbone tweed I still like very much. I think I have reached the rapid size change stage of weight loss. This happened to me after VSG, too. I was able to wear a lot of my clothes for the first 60 pounds of weight loss, but the last 30-40 pounds saw significant sizing changes. I had some clothes that seemed to be too big after only a month or so. Since I have about 30 more pounds to lose, I'm wondering if I should hold off on altering some of these things. Hmmmm????
Ann, I envy your remodeling stress! I would love to be putting in brand new bathrooms, but even more a brand new kitchen! I also need a new roof, but that is not a "fun" expenditure. A new roof is a lot like the $20K retaining wall I had to have built in the backyard. Necessary, prudent, and a wise expenditure, but not a lot of fun. I would love a more functional, easier to keep clean and pretty kitchen. I do understand the time involved, too. Ron and I have spent countless hours discussing even the smallest of changes around here!
Having "Thanksgiving" lunch with my dad and brother today. Dad chose Chinese, so Chinese it shall be.
Well, must get on my broomstick and get some things done before lunch!
Lots of work to build/fully remodel a house. More energy than I have these days.

148.4, up down, up down within a 1 lb. range. Took my second 1/2 injection for the week last night. I've noticed lately that sometimes the needle meets resistance about half way in and I really have to push to get it in. I know there is less fat, but come on, there is still plenty there!
Made a Costco run and regular grocery run already this morning! I think I have everything for the turkey day meal except for Costco rotisserie chicken which will be picked up on the day of (Saturday for us).
Need to take Emma dog to the vet today. She needs bloodwork prior to her teeth cleaning appointment scheduled for next week and they need to check out a growth above her eye that has been bleeding/weeping a bit! The plan is for them to remove the growth when she is under anesthesia for the teeth cleaning if possible!
DC1 hanging out today. It was nice to have company/help with the grocery shopping. DH working 12 hour day shifts for the next 3 days then has a good stretch off!
Rainy grey day, might turn to snow later.
