Greetings all

The rain has started after an overcast day. I stayed home. I attacked "Mount Laundry" as DH calls it. He waits until every single thing he owns is dirty and then does it all at once in a marathon. I don't do that but quite a bit has piled up so it's three loads today so far. I had planned to go to the studio but just did not feel like it. So it's True Crime and laundry for me. DH at least got the dogs out for a walk before the rain.

As Peps said funerals are never fun. Even seeing people you have not seen in a while does not make up for it Liz. I hope the trip goes smoothly and that you can enjoy the company even on a sad occasion. Hope Justice perks up and that sciatica sister does ok.

CC that sounds like the holiday event from hell. Hours on a crappy bus followed by crappy show. Reminds me to always have an escape route planned for any event. LOL at the show descriptions.

Peps that looks like a killer workout. No wonder you are muscle man. Still not sure how you will do 140g protein but good on you for trying. I have a friend who eats almost no plants. Not sure why but he looks well. Out to dinner he gets a 20 oz steak.

Tomorrow we go see the new dentist. I am prepared to flee if this one makes me nervous. I can usually tough out about anything but a scary dental experience in college has made me a chicken. Fingers crossed,

A few days ago I was getting ready to shower in the am. Major poop event inspired me to weigh myself. Not pretty and neither was the scale. Guess my 47 calories burned by ritual waddling is not enough.

Not much else. DH brought home deli turkey sandwich. Time to address Mount Laundry.

145.6 or 7? Can't remember! Are we losing it Peps?

Liz, sorry Justice is reacting to his shots and sorry this trip isn't for a reason you would choose. I hope you do get to see some people you normally don't see around Christmas!

Tonight we are having a social gathering with our couple's Bible study group. One family is hosting and we will all bring appetizers or desserts. I'm bringing shrimp ****tail and caprese salad. Always smart to bring something you can eat!

I don't do cardio anymore, but may just for some aerobic stamina. The type of weight training I do using super sets keeps my heart rate and breathing elevated for most of the time I'm working out. Science supports weight bearing exercises over cardio for overall health and wellness.

Definitely not your typical 60 year old guy's workout! Most don't do anything! Do you have some cardio days too?

This was a little concerning -https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-14182453/Warning- experts-discover-weight-loss-jabs-like-Ozempic-render-breast -cancer-chemo-ineffective.html

So yesterday's outing was pretty awful! First the bus had an extreme vibration (and bad bus smell). I still felt like I was moving for a good half hour after we got there. The shopping portion was very short, then off to dinner at PF Changs. Once all 23 of us had ordered, a burning smell was very evident and smoke filled the room. It was an electrical fire and the whole building was evacuated. So back onto the bus without any food and we headed to the theatre. But there was an accident on the freeway, so we took side streets leaving only 40 minutes to show time. I can't see how they thought we would have had enough time to eat and settle individual bills and get all the way across town. My friend and I broke from the herd after seeing a Jimmy Johns across the street, so at least had sandwiches. Everyone else went inside and got the only snacks available - caramel corn and m&ms. Then came the show and it was indeed what I feared - 80s electric Christmas music with lasers and weird 80s effects video clips with strange imagery that didn't seem to match the music. Like belly dancers dancing on the tables at an English medieval feast while Christmas music played? And disembodied mouths singing a carol while silhouettes of people did interpretive dance. Or nature scene's like a Peloton view of a galloping horse in a forest. At one point my friend joked it was like a Thomas Kincade picture come to life. We had wishful thinking that everyone would have seen enough and wanted to leave at intermission, but no dice. Then back on the noisy, teeth-rattling bus for 2.5 hours followed by a 35 minute drive home from the final bus stop. I walked in the door from a perfectly dreadful, expensive day at 1 am. I pretty much decided I don't really like anyone in the group other than my friend and I will let my membership lapse! You win some you lose some when you agree to do things you normally wouldn't do...

After only a few hours sleep, I had the 3 hour round trip to pick up Kirby from camp. They said he had fun and was covered in dog spit when I got him. Now he's sacked out. I need a nap too!

So that's it from here. Take care all!

216.? (either .3 or .6.... brain like a sieve...)

Liz, funerals are never fun! I hope that it is not overly emotionally draining for you. I am hoping that my trip to Baltimore this weekend is not too gloomy. The service for my aunt is supposed to be a celebration of life with no religious overtones.

Breakfast was 32 grams of protein. Lunch is about 25. I don't know about this 140 grams of protein goal. Not going to be easy. Though I have to remember I can easily get in 100s of grams of carbs without trying! LOL!

Liz, you comment about your DH's workouts was interesting. I don't consider my workouts super duper, but I do think they might be a little more than the average 60 year old man's workouts. Yesterday was my non trainer day so I focused on a little back, but mostly leg. Here's my choreography from yesterday. It's a basic push-pull for symmetry and balance:

Wide grip cable pulls (160 lbs, 4 sets)

Kettlebell deadlifts (35 lbs, 4 sets)

Seated rear delt flies (40 lbs, 4 sets)

Seated shoulder press (80 lbs, 4 sets)

seated leg curls (80 lbs, 4 sets)

seated leg extensions (40 lbs, 4 sets)

Back extensions (body weight, 3 sets)

Hip Thrusts (bench, body weight, 4 sets)

Deep squats (butt to hip thrust bench, 4 sets)

Rope Cable Tricep extension (80lbs, 4 sets)

All but the tricep and back extensions were done in super sets.

Off to Third Grade...

119.4

Not looking forward to this trip home though I will probably see some people I normally wouldn't during a holiday season visit. The reality of BIL dying is going to be tough. This morning I am staging everything that needs to go, but then want to go to water aerobics, take a quick shower, finish packing, and leave for the airport. I packed a snack for the plane as there is no real time to eat until then. DS is meeting me at the hotel and we will go out for an early dinner.

Poor Justice is having a reaction to the many vaccinations he needed yesterday including rabies. He is rather lethargic and a little warm. I hate leaving him but DH will take good care of him. I liked the new vet and the location is very convenient.

My other chair has been found! I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't called (would it have just sat in limbo)? The new appointment is set up for this Saturday. The customer service person gave me the number to call at the shipping center it is located at in case there is any problem - I got the impression that they were the ones who messed up last week by only setting up delivery for one of the chairs.

The sisters leave tomorrow which DH is looking forward to. Over a week's stay is a long time. And it has been a bit difficult for them as one of them has had what seems like sciatica but much worse than I have ever heard anyone having. She has been on the phone with her doctor several times and he also seems concerned. She is having an MRI here today so that he has the results in hand when he sees her on Friday. She is going to arrange for a wheelchair at the airport but she has a long transit as they take a shuttle bus on the other end to their car to get home.

Time to get cracking (and packing). Have a whirlwind Wednesday!

I think the positives about your muscle outweigh the negatives by a lot. I know DH's numbers wouldn't be anywhere near that. He does work out but not like you. I guess it makes sense that you need a lot more protein than one would calculate for you based on body weight since you have so much more muscle. 140 grams!
