I bet some people will look at my mermaid/shell decorations and roll their eyes. Oh well...

Yes - the son definitely needs to learn how to be more cognizant of other people's time. I hope my kids are. I think so as they are always on time with me these days - not so much when they were younger but they learned when we expressed our displeasure if they were late and via experiencing frustration when other people caused delays for them (or cancelled last minute).
I hope the Mom said something to the son.

LOL - my home had that same decor in the late 80's.

I haven't had it long enough to know. But the little dog hairs don't seem to show too much.

I think the northeast was jealous and wanted something that sounded impressive too...

Honest, geese were the absolute trendiest thing mid to late 80s. I got so many geese themed gifts at bridal showers. I think my airpot even had a goose on it! I remember a period during the 70s when mushrooms were the thing. My aunt had mushroom canisters and plates. And then there were sunflowers ~ mid 90s? I skipped that one.
Greetings all
It's rainy and cold here. We went to the new dentist yesterday. *^@%!*(^%$$^*@## she wants me to have quite a bit of dental work. Oh fudge. And I thought the other guy was trying to do unneeded stuff. The thing is, they took a lot of pictures and showed me the cracks and decayed spots. So I guess I had better suck it up and do it. DH was the one with a chipped tooth but she just smoothed that one off for him. So I have several appointments. I forgot to ask if they do nitrous oxide but might demand it. Or root around for old valium.
CC that is so rude of those people to be so late when you were doing them a big favor. Hope your friend told her kid he was rude. Sometimes I think people assume that single people have nothing to do so time changes don't matter. My own pet peeve is people showing up unannounced which DH's friend does once in awhile. It unleashes the dog cacophony plus I am usually not dressed. At least you got some costco rewards from it. Peps has a more healthy attitude about the gift of time but then again there is less time later on.
So I went to the studio and then to the gym today. It got really windy and the roads were wet. Yeah I had never heard of an atmospheric river until we moved to northern Ca. In the midwest it was a thunderstorm.
Blue carpet! Thats what we got rid of a couple of years ago for the dog friendly vinyl. Amazing how colors come and go. My first house was tan and burgundy and the second pink and grey. This one is eclectic - meaning whatever was here is still here. I did remove all the borders of wallpaper whi*****luded grotesque floral, plaid, and geese marching around the bathroom. No thanks. Funny DD that you had a geese kitchen. Makes more sense than a geese bathroom.
Liz hope your return trip was uneventful. But I bet you are glad you made the effort. Worth it.
DD and Paula stay warm. Looks like it's a bad winter start. Heated blanket Paula! Rust sounds like a "warm" color at least. And I am with Peps on the avocado color. And harvest gold. Who thought that up?
Leftover Thai food tonight. There have been some power outages around here. Hoping ours holds. I don't do well at camping..

Update, we left at 10:30 so an hour and a half late. My friend was very apologetic for her son and felt bad, which I didn't want her to do! I wanted the son to know it's important to be respectful of other people's time when they are doing you a favor. I didn't make a thing out of it though and just let it go. I thanked him for the points on my credit card and the Costco rewards. He spent $1300!
We closed on our house in 1987 and the livingroom, dining room had blue carpet, and furniture, wall paper etc featured dusty rose. The kitchen was blue and peach with all the geese accessories (towels, cookie jars, canisters, hot pads) known to man. Bathroom, seafoam green, the bedroom more of that dusty rose. People exclaimed with delight, oh I love your color choices! All the hits of the 80s. Blue carpet left us many years ago, but it felt chic and bold back in the day.
Quiet evening at home. BFF is back in town and coming over for dinner. We'll probably order pizza. 2 people on Wegovy/Zepbound struggle to come up with ideas about what to eat unless we have actual menus in our hands providing suggestions.
I would think navy blue would show every little particle that drops! Does it? I like my LVP for many reasons, but especially because it does not show dog dirt!!!
