Greetings all
It's kind of windy today but no rain yet. It is on the way for tonight I think. Probably should be ready for a power outage which occurs when someone sneezes around here. Power company is really lousy.
So I started the morning with a studio zoom meeting of the board. Things are going pretty well and not much controversy. People are pestering me to teach them raku firing again which I have not felt up to but I will try if I am certain I can get help with the physical aspects. It requires enough agility to remove an 1800 degree item from an open kiln using tongs and getting it into a trash can of combustible material. Used to do it all the time. Oh well.
And last night's gallery meeting was not too bad so no *****ing here. The annoying person running for office has a challenger who will be good. So all is well in my little world.
Spent some time at the studio today. Made owls.
Liz that vacation spot looks so fabulous. Perfect. But what do you do without a dingy? Paddle? What a super relaxing trip.
Peps 6 teachers for 500 kids? Thats like 3 cowboys to manage a stampede. Best of luck. Yes I have always thought your schedule was enormous and you do a lot. Full time job plus the dog show circuit. Plus grooming. Soon you will own your time and your mind and your energy. Bet you can't wait.
DD do you still have controversy club?
So Paula the exercise snack article was on a CNN newsletter. You can go to CNN website and see it. Interesting discussion to the effect that even these mini exercise sessions can lower cancer risks and such. I used to think that if I can't do a half hour that it was pointless but that is not true. Today I got my "snack" at he gym as the elevator is still broken. I also get one by doing squats while my eggs cook.
CC post a pic of the new outdoor furniture. You have a roof deck!!!!! How cool. Balloon viewing gallery. (auto correct typed "baloney"}
Well the shredded chicken got delayed until tonight. We shall see how good it is.
Liz is living in some kind of travelogue ad!!! Every photo is outstanding.
Peps, I agree, 32 or 34 waist is very impressive. I do not envy your performance schedule tonight. Great memories for the kids though. I loved every minute of my music education. ( Well, possibly there are a few less than loved memories of the 2 years I took violin lessons in grade school, but even those years have some happy memories).
Paula great job committing to exercise. I bet the ability to increase your calories will come along as you continue your workouts.
CC, the pictures you've posted of Kirby in the last few weeks are so handsome. He is a truly gorgeous pup. Rooftop patio? The options for enjoying life at your house seem endless!
I don't have much to add. The days are marching by as we all try to make it to spring break. (March 29). Still low energy. I went to the fancy grocery shop after work. They have the best chicken salad and I thought that would help me get some more protein.
Overcast, but not one snowflake, despite yesterday's forecast. A okay with me, I do not need snow for any reason. Even so, there will probably be at least one more storm this season.
It's usually AFTER 24 hours post workout that the soreness will hit for me. Give yourself until late tonight or tomorrow for the sore to kick in!
Liz, your vacation pictures are fabulous! Looks like so much fun!
128.5, pretty darn consistent here in maintenance. I am feeling a little food noise creep in and some more hunger at the 2 mg dose. Still able to keep calories at 1100 without much effort. I wish my increased exercise would allow for a little more wiggle room calorie wise, but that does not appear to be the case!
Cut and color this morning and then I did my 40 minute treadmill workout at 3.6 mph and grades between 4 and 6%. Surprisingly I'm not too sore from my Biggest Loser boot camp workout yesterday! This afternoon I will continue my prep for leading Bible study tomorrow morning!
Leftover corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight, easy peasy!
85 kids to supervise is insane! I hope you at least get a similar age group!
Im impressed with either a 32 or 34 inch waist for a 61 year old man! You are looking great!
Your weather is wonkier than ours, you just had snow and will soon be getting 80 degree temperatures? Ours likes to change drastically but that is insane! Good luck with picking out your new patio furniture!

I have spring fever. I just ordered a bunch of plants online. We have a couple of nurseries here, but not a lot of variety. And I'm ready for flowers! I'm also about ready to pull the trigger on a load of new outdoor furniture. My current stuff is in good shape, but there's not nearly enough of it and it's the wrong style for this house, sort of traditional... Italianate? I may move it to the roof deck. This yard needs modern and a lot of it. But it's a lot of money and I've been dragging my feet for going on three years...
Tonight there's an art opening at the art center, and I'm going with my two friends and then we're going to dinner after. Should be fun! Kirby also needs his walk.
there are 80° temperatures in the 10 day forecast, which also may be influencing my spring fever. I think that may be all I know! Hope everyone is well. Liz, glad you're having a great time. Peps, I'm sending you cat herding mojo - sounds like you're going to need it!
What a beautiful vacation you are having. Sorry I seem to have missed your birthday. So, happy belated!
210.something....
Long azz day today... have a performance for grades TK - 12 at the local open air mall for the Education Foundation fundraiser. We have subs in the afternoon so we can set up at the mall. We'll be there until 6 or 6:30. Expecting about 350 kids to show for grades TK-5, then all the middle school band kids and the high school choir will come. So probably about 500 kids to wrangle. We have 6 teachers, so about 85 kids each to supervise. Oh joy! LOL!
I bought 3 pair of shorts (loungy, workout type) with elastic waist. I bought 32" waist size. I should have bought 34. They fit, but just a little more snug in the waist and crotch than I would like. So now I have to lose a few more pounds. Small clothes are never a good motivator for me, so I have to drum up some inner mojo to get this last 20-25 pounds off. UGH....
I am beginning to realize the absolute unreal schedule I keep. It is manifesting in two ways: being apathetic about school/teaching and procrastination mode once I get home. With too much to do, I feel like doing nothing! Go figure! I haven't even started taxes yet.
Gotta run....
