Late check in on iPad. Brother has come and gone and we had a great time. A few complications with his dog and ours but it worked out. Went avenue of giants and other stuff. More later when at key board,

Greetings from Michigan! My two very sweet friends drove me up to Flagstaff for my flight. The jet was enormous and just for Kirby and me. Any concerns I had about the cost flew out the window the second one of the pilots told me it would take two hours and 25 minutes to get here. I would hardly be out of Flagstaff had a driven two hours and 25 minutes! Kirby was good for his flight and settled down with a bully stick, then napped.
Michigan was only in the 60s today, but beautiful. Kirby was very well-behaved and has my dad and his wife convinced that my complaints about his behavior all in my head. Just wait until he settles in and doesn't feel nervous about his new environment! Then they'll get to meet the real Kirby who is always sweet, but could dance outside your last nerve like no other dog. Claudia took him to the beach while I went to the grocery store and he was unimpressed. I think this should-be water Dog is missing that programming. But we'll work on it. My Embrace pharmacy 10 mg comes tomorrow, so no worries about timing for my next shot. They apparently mix theirs with B12 so that should be interesting as should the fact that I have to inject 125 units! I'm sweating currently doing 75. I think I'll break it up into two syringes and take a break in between.
Funnily enough, nobody mentioned my weight loss or how I look. I'm a little miffed, ha ha. I had bought a container that looks like a thermos to refrigerate my medication and it was sitting on my counter when Claudia came in and asked what it was. I couldn't think fast enough on my feet so I just said it's for medication. She probably now thinks I'm diabetic and I'm just not telling them, I'm sure it will come up at some point...
I think that's it for me right now. I think I need to go to bed!

I love the name Bug! And I have recent first-hand experience with that crate screaming... Wishing you a peaceful night ahead.
A day without DC. Was kinda nice to get a break and they had fun hammocking with a new friend (met her in the outpatient therapy program they were in).
Good eating day. Protein bar for breakfast, protein smoothie for lunch and spicy crab and avacado for dinner with my 2 squares of dark chocolate sometime in the afternoon. Just under 1,000 calories for the day.
Had woman's Bible study this morning, short nap after lunch, work a bit on getting ready for my next art show and then sushi date with DH. Will watch a bit of the debate until I can't stand listening to Trump anymore.
It has been many years since I have had a puppy that was not born and raised here. That is the preface to reporting that Bug (the puppy's current name) screamed bloody f**king murder before settling down for the night in her crate. Luckily, once she was done screaming, she was done for the entire night. I gave her a big crate because I knew she wouldn't be able to last the night and would need a potty area. Good call. She wet at the back of the crate and slept in the front. I got up at 6 am to let her out. Upon return to her crate she screamed for a good 10 minutes, much to Ron's chagrin. Luckily, somewhere along the way I have learned that they always quiet down. You just have to ride it out. I am already deeply infatuated with her.
Weight was the same today as yesterday.
I'm confused by my latest Orderly Meds fulfillment. I got a smaller bottle of meds than I did for my 7.5 mg dose. I got a 2 ml bottle of meds which is the same size as my first bottle that was 20 mg (2 ml) working out to be four 5 mg doses. This bottle is labeled 40 mg, 2 ml, and says it's four 10 mg doses, but the directions call for 50 unit injections which I understand to be a 5 mg dose. . I don't start with the new dose until next week, so I'll figure it out, but sheesh.... Does not boost my confidence in the company - especially since there were prescription issues this past time, too. Hmmmm.....
Not much else.... Had a client dog this morning, fetched the RV for this weekend, groomed Bug a bit, accompanied Aunty Kathryn on an errand to a sketchy part of a neighboring town, etc...
It's hot out this afternoon so I'm just taking it easy.
Back from lunch with my Controversy Club. Possible topics for our next meeting s: increasing screen time and automation (ex ordering at table with QR code, self checkout), what is happening to our younger generations. Someone recommended a book called The Anxious Generation. Another topic: how does the use of electronic texts vs hard copies of books effect learning?
One of our members was late because there was a shelter in place order in their neighborhood. They live in a golf course community, and apparently someone entered the clubhouse with an automatic weapon. They cleared the pool and golf course, and held people in some service building. Scary. The world is a crazy place some days.
The rest of the day is for getting ready to travel. DH worked his last part-time shift until the end of August. Now it's really summer!
I have a BIL like this too. You can barely walk through his apartment with all the furniture, rugs, and knickknacks that formerly belonged to family members. And there are lots of other family memorabilia stuffed in books, drawers, etc.

You have such a poetic way of describing the sorting process.

My sister is a bit obsessive about family artifacts, but it works out great for me. She wants and will take ANYTHING that was ever owned by our parents or previous generations. So I can purge without guilt! Her little house is STUFFED and looks a bit like a museum of the 50's, but if I ever feel a bit nostalgic, I can go over and see a recreation of the past, lol. I think it will end with her, though, as neither my daughter nor her son has any interest in all the old junk, er, I mean, family historical items...

Good morning!
Second time I have seen the 4 showing in the 10-spot. Like many of us flip-flopping around and looking to slip closer to, or settle a bit more into the middle of our desired range--the going has slowed. I tally up the 1st of the month and check progress. July begins the half point of this year (sooooo quickly!) and looking forward (instead of dreading) comparing w/same time last year.
Liz, it will be super satisfying to watch that dumpster filling up as stuff that is no longer useful to you (or anyone else) leaves the house. It's all so much junk that hasn't paid "rent" for years---Evict the squatters!
I'm now in the midst of waffling over those things that, like mooching friends or now distant relatives and have overstayed their welcome, should have been dealt with long ago. Feels like I, the curator of all that is the physical representation of both DH's and my own families history, am about obliterate just what I was given to preserve and pass on....But, to whom (??) do those family photos, artifacts, boxes of ephemera, books, etc....when no one wants them? What happens when the generations after this generation curses me for dropping the baton?
I know, inevitably, what the answer is. It just makes me sad. If not now, when? If not me, who?
Definitely needing a bit of theurgic inspiration this Thursday, for sure.
Am off to address the 2 large branches that fell on/over the fence during the storm early yesterday morning. I can do that with out self debating!
