125.4. Good bathroom day! Yay!

I did get that lift chair off Facebook! Good investment and I can resell when done with it!

Sunny and a little warmer today. I hear the birds chirping outside, so Spring must be near! It is actually going to be close to 60 over the weekend so DH has begged me to grill out. Thawing out burger for that right now.

Got back on the treadmill today and did upper body resistance training with hand held weights. I?m beginning to see muscle peeking out of my somewhat loose skin! I had my arms and boobs done after VSG and both are sagging just a bit but not enough to consider having a revision surgery just yet. I guess the implants have a 10 or so year lifespan so if I need to replace them at some point I will do a lift again at that time (if retirement finances allow).

Making pepper steak for dinner tonight with rice.

Liz, your party last night looked like so much fun and the food you described and showed on FB looked delicious! Safe travels up north and try to stay dry and warm.

Ann, your remodel almost sounds like a complete redo! I will be anxious to see pics when it is all done. Hoping DH?s health issues get sorted out and he feels in tip top shape soon. I agree, our little group is a tribe of badass warriors. We have had awesome success and deserve self congratulations!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

128.6 lbs. and finally back under 130.

Good morning, friends, from the local Red Roof Inn--a small upgrade from our Extend America stay a few weeks ago. Yesterday we were evicted from our home by the flooring people who needed one last 24-hour period when no one was walking on the floors while their final sheen coat dried. We'll head back home this morning.

It's been a busy week--complicated tax prep, remodeling errands, some new medical issues and tests for DH who's got arthritis in his upper back happening for the first time time (the cheap mattress we bought for the attic has not done him any favors).

We're also preparing for Remodeling Phase 2 which will happen this spring and summer--construction of a new patio and walkways, a covered back porch, new driveways and landscaping. I'll be so glad when all of this is over!

Nothing more to add, except that Bonnie H started a good thread over on TT about the eternal effort required to battle our weight issues. Obviously, this challenge is not unique to us. But I was reminded of how successfully our little group has responded to this challenge compared to the vast majority of WLS patients. I do think our OHM group has played a significant role in our success. Sometimes I wish some serious researcher would delve into the micro-sample we represent and try to find out what we have in common ('ish) that has helped us. Interestingly, some of the traits and behaviors I'm aware of that we have in common appear to be outliers compared to most WLS patients.

Yes, I'm patting us all on the back. But seriously, y'all, we really should pat ourselves on the back more often than we do.

Hence, today's affirmation: "I love myself and deserve my love!"

Bonus epiphany: Regarding myself with loving kindness feels a lot better than being disappointed, frustrated, and angry with myself.

120.6

What an amazing night at the Spring Fling - pictures on FB. The food was delicious, the people and costumes were colorful and fun, great music, dancing, and even fireworks! I had oysters, shrimp and Caribbean lobster for an appetizer, then Maine lobster and veggies for my main meal. Yum! I'm glad we took the shuttle bus - so much easier not to have to drive.

We are off to rainy, cold Cape Cod in about 1.5 hours. So easy to get the flight from our local airport 10 minutes away. We are taking Justice too so he will hang out with Brandy and Stella for the weekend. DH's daughter is picking us up at the airport so we will take her and her husband out for dinner tonight. The other daughter, granddaughter and 2 close family friends arrive early tomorrow. I am dreading the weather but DH is really looking forward to it.

Time to get my shower and throw any remaining items in my canvas bag. Have a fun Friday!

It's hard to give up a local paper. DH still pays for the Boston Globe (online).

Just one more paperwork day! Doesn't that feel amazing to be getting so close?

DH wore a Nehru collar shirt. You must be glad that the eye surgeries are done. Just a bunch more drops and you will have perfect vision!

Sounds like a good plan to try stretching out the days. It is definitely best to add healthy calories, not empty ones. Though I did add bread to my half sandwich for lunch when I got to your point (previously I just ate a scoop of tuna). However usually I can only eat one half of that amount of bread anyway.

Yay you for the focus to get the 20 progress reports done! And a bigger Yay that you only have to do it once more in your life! Those little countdowns must make it all seem more real. DH has just under a month left! I bought him a fun retired shirt and myself a fun "60" shirt that we will wear in Door County the weekend he retires and I turn 60.

Liz, that party sounds so much fun! I know you are going to accessorize just perfectly to fit the theme. I haven't had caviar since I was young, and I was disappointed because I didn't enjoy it. I wonder if my palate has changed enough to appreciate it now. Champagne on the other hand, I have loved since my very first sip.

Today was my quarterly paperwork day, where I wrote all the scintillating progress reports for my caseload. I "locked in" as the kids say, and managed to crank all 20 out. My brain is buzzing now from that high level of focus. I requested my last quarterly paperwork day for June 5. The last time I have to write these tedious reports 4-ever.

We had a nice dinner to celebrate DHs birthday. They had clam chowder as an appetizer, which was perfect for the Wegovy stomach. I shared a Caesar salad with DH, and had a bite of his steak. The salad was pretty filling, so I had enough chowder leftover for lunch today.

No plans this evening, I need to catch up on my paper reading, since I didn't get to it yesterday, or today yet. Having the Minneapolis Tribune delivered daily is getting awfully expensive, but I'm afraid I wouldn't know what was really going on in my city without it. Even more than the hard news, I love restaurant reviews, and news about the fine arts scene etc . So we'll keep it for now.
