The party was nice. And the wind died, so it was actually very comfortable outside thank goodness. I wore jeans I haven't worn in months. They have a little stretch, so I wore them hen I was heavier when I probably shouldn't have, but nothing else fit. Yesterday they were loose and I definitely needed a belt I didn't have. The perils of having no dip in your waist! But I still felt pulled together and not overweight, if overweight is a feeling.
The hostess was giving me a tour of the house they just had totally rebuilt (oh my God, it's stunning and I had many moments of friendly envy). She commented that I looked so skinny (in a very nice way) and asked if I was using Ozempic. Taken aback and being a bad liar, I told her I was on tirzepatide. What do I care, I'm not ashamed of it! She said her sister in law (the other hostess of the evening) was starting it and she hoped her husband would. He is very overweight in his stomach area the way men can get and it's so dangerous. I worry about him, so I hope she convinces him to try it. Their next door neighbor's husband died this last winter from a heart attack and was similarly built. So I quickly told her about the health benefits aside from weight loss too.
My weight jumped up a pound and a half today even though I didn't eat a ton. Maybe slow digestion. Who knows.
I hope you all have a lovely day. Looks to be a nice one here with no wind! Take care!
No weight - we are at DH's home. Also almost no sleep - about 2 hours. Like Goldilocks I couldn't get comfortable - it was either too hot or too cold.
ThinLizzy posted on Saturday's thread thanking us for sending messages to her.
Today we are going to breakfast (skipped yesterday) and then probably the beach if the sun stays out. I need to sleep on the beach. Haven't figured out dinner yet - we either need to shop or go out.
That's all I know. Have a lazy Labor Day!

My DH passed away almost 5 years ago from complications related to dementia. It seemed very sudden when the neurologist asked if I wanted to call in hospice and 2 weeks later he was gone. I felt the same as you when I reflected on the last few months of his life that he had decided it was time to leave this earth because it had all become too much for him. Hard to accept it at first, but when you look at it in that light it is a blessing. Take care of yourself and hold on tight to DD.

Hi, everyone,
I saw all of your notes of sympathy, both here and on FB, and I'm very grateful. It was such a shock to lose my DH so quickly. I knew the Parkinson's was getting worse and that he was struggling more, but I can see now that he was probably holding on and quietly suffering more than he was letting on. Anyway, I'm kind of a mess but trying to put one foot in front of the other and get stuff done. My DD has been staying with me which has been tremendously helpful. And I think it helps her too--she was really close to her dad. Anyway, I'll be checking in again, maybe not everyday, but I did want to thank you all for your kindness!

Harriet has a mop of curly hair, is 4, and has the most marvelous 75 year old smoker's voice!! Raspy and deep. Like Kathleen Turner of the playground set.
Love those names! I would not call them unusual, but rather old fashioned! I have had an Astrid, Louise, Margot and Arthur as students! No Odette or Harriet though!
Greetings all
It's a lazy sunny day here. Still feels like summer. Not much planned (like always). DH has some kind of toe fungus so I agreed to go to CVS for some ointment. He is supposed to go to foot doctor. While at CVS I bought other things including contraband cookies. They had Halloween candy out. I was reminded why i dislike that place as I watched an 83 year old man make his purchases. He kept mixing up his phone number and his age which he needed for their rewards coupons and liquor purchases. Well that will be me soon. At least I found my favorite coffee and other goodies plus wine to take to party.
Then I made a stop at the hippie grocery for a watermelon and parmesan cheese so I can take stuff to tomorrow's party. I am going to need a hatchet to cut tha****ermelon (which DH has) or maybe use the power saw....
Sounds like everyone is busy. Paula I bet it is the antibiotics that are messing with you. Hope you can finish them up soon.
Liz so Justice has a pack! Good for him. Sounds like a wonderful day. GL on picture sorting. Yeah it's not fun if there is pressure to discard and organize. Better to just look.
Yikes Peps on the RV adventure. Some kind of omen. Your house car lot sounds like our neighborhood. No clue where all these cars are from but there are loads. We have one less now that the old SUV has been towed away. The college kids next door have already taken the spot with one of their cars. Not clear how many people live there but I count four cars.
DD so you venture into the big city! Big cities were fun in my younger days. In college we used to hitchhike to Chicago and run around. No clue how we survived. Anyway good on you for taking advantage of all your city has to offer.
CC a 45 person dinner??!! Thats a crowd. Agreed on wine; especially if decent flowers were not available.
The grocery deli had nothing interesting so its hamburgers again tonight. Maybe some fancy cheese. Thats about it.

The names sound like they came right out of books. I love that kids have such different names these days.
I miss Shirl too!

My father worked in Boston and ultimately I did too. I commuted from the town my children grew up in near Worcester MA, 50 miles into Boston and back. I was amazed at how many people in that community had never been to Boston because it was too far or too scary. They thought I was crazy.
