2 years ago my Aunt and Uncle loaned us their cottage in Ipswich for an entire month! What an adventure. They no longer have that cottage, so this time we're renting for just a week in Rockport Massachusetts, then staying a few days with my Aunt and Uncle in Amherst, and then back to a Boston for a few days.

They load him up with pretty aggressive antibiotics each time he gets a UTI in his kidney/stent, but it doesn't seem to keep him from getting new ones. Age and an open environment don't help no matter how careful Claudia is with changing his ostomy bag.

I will have to save the name of that cream. Biting bugs seem to love me too.

Have a terrific time. Good thing you have such a reward (visit) after lugging those suitcases.

I hope those antibiotics forestall any future complications. My SIL has a bladder cancer that requires scraping periodically. The first two times she got urinary tract infections. Since then they automatically give her antibiotics.

OMG - what a terrible set of cir****tances for your friends! Good thing they have support for their return home. You just never know.

We made it to Florida yesterday and had a great time out to dinner with our friends. We hadn't seen any of them in 2 months so they were amazed by my weight loss. I wore a dress that I haven't put on since a month after I met DH.

The plane ride was very relaxing but on our way home from the airport around mid-day DS called in panic because the internet went out at the house and the provider had to be called from DH's phone because they won't talk to anyone else. Actually they don't "speak" to anyone, but we were finally able to work with a technician via text (actually I did because DH doesn't understand technology at all). They couldn't figure out the issue so set up an appointment for this afternoon. DS ended up going to the library to work. But all is well in the end as I googled the error code and someone posted online that it was their cable splitter that was bad, so DS removed it and all is functioning smoothly. It felt like another 3 hours was taken out of my life stressing over that.

Anyway, we got to the Florida condo mid-afternoon and the work we had done in the Living Room is beautiful! There are a few last details he needs to finish which we discussed this morning but it is at a point where I can put it back together in advance of DD's bachelorette party at the end of August.

The Cape house is listed!!! Fingers and toes crossed. Two showings are already scheduled for today and an open house on Saturday.

Injection on-board today and weight tomorrow (with a different scale of course).

Spending the afternoon at the beach (under an umbrella - too hot otherwise). Have a timeous Thursday!

Yes. The stent tube is about as big around as a spaghetti strand, so it takes very little to clog it. And when you're older, especially with a foreign body connected to the outside in your kidney, despite all the sanitary protocols he gets infections. Or they never completely go away..

I think I remember those arduous steps - didn't y'all haul a sofa up those? Is your cottage the same delightful one you rented last? Have a lovely time with the kiddos; I know you will.

Diane, your friends really did have bad luck. What good friends you are for helping them out! Hope the last leg of their trip is uneventful.

CC, glad your Dad can recover at home! Hospitals are definitely not the place for rest!

We had a good visit with my aunts and Mom and my brother and his wife yesterday. Did a little driving tour to all of the hometown haunts. Had good Mexican last night!

Today we took a walk by the river (Mississippi) and will hang low until we meet up with my girlfriends around 5. Going to the Tapas place for dinner again. Will head home tomorrow morning.

No weigh in while here, but I?m staying on track with calories and protein. Tonight may have a little alcohol.

I?m not noticing any difference in the increased dose and may even have a little more hunger. I may inject from the new vial this Sunday, just in case something is amiss.

143.0

Ocean! Howdy and good morning, ma'am.

OMGosh! I am astonished at the overwhelming misfortune your friend and her BF are experiencing. So good to have friends to provide for needs and comforts. Prayers that the cleanup (business end of ordeal) will go glitch less.

I tend to get caught up in the chaos new experiences naturally create and lose the joy of the adventure. Your post reminds me to appreciate and have gratitude every day for my body's ability to do and enjoy the journey.

Peps, that is such a problem- dealing with clothes too large for you ( reminds me of the retort "are you bragging or complaining?") If you buy new, don't get very much. I have a feeling you'll be needing to size down even more.

****ly, I use a cream, Triamcinolone Acetonide, for poison ivy- works well so could be great on bug bites. It's a prescription, but I bet your Dr would call it in without a visit, maybe.

To all in vacation mode- enjoy! Ditto for all at home, too.

Speaking of the day- off to finish up the house for tomorrow.
