I love when my kids visit even though there usually is work involved, LOL. DS's visit lasted a bit too long (6 years), so it time for him to be re-launched and become a visitor again.

Liz, how wonderfully everything has fallen into place. And now you can relax about the closing date and DDs wedding date. Bittersweet would seem appropriate. You've moved through many new doors since deceased DHs passing. This seems like a big one. I love that you have your Florida residence, something by the water, something that is your new life, something that reflects how you want to live this next chapter.

The cottage we are at here in Rockport is indeed that, a beguiling and enchanting beach town cottage. Its about 2 blocks from the beach. We can see the water from the kitchen window. It has a porch swing, which is the size of a small twin bed, loaded with pillows, where both daughter and I are ensconced reading and swinging. I may spend the whole week out here, except when I'm using the outdoor shower. I don't think I've used one since I was a teenager.

We don't have any big plans. Tomorrow we will go to the beach, and there is a free concert in a gazebo on the waterfront. There are also bikes to use, so I suspect DH and DS will take advantage of them.

I am so very content, here on this porch swing with a glass of wine, listening to DH and DS play a board game. Reminds me of a poem: Life has loveliness to sell.

Barter by Sara Teasdale

Life has loveliness to sell,

All beautiful and splendid things,

Blue waves whitened on a cliff,

Soaring fire that sways and sings,

And children's faces looking up

Holding wonder like a cup.

Life has loveliness to sell,

Music like a curve of gold,

Scent of pine trees in the rain,

Eyes that love you, arms that hold,

And for your spirit's still delight,

Holy thoughts that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,

Buy it and never count the cost;

For one white singing hour of peace

Count many a year of strife well lost,

And for a breath of ecstasy

Give all you have been, or could be.

So glad to hear you enjoyed yourself in the pool! I NEED to be in the water, so that was one thing I always did at any weight, and I always had a swimming suit that fit, no matter how big of a size. At my heaviest weight though, I began to feel scared to jump off the back of a boat. I somehow thought my great weight would propelled me straight to the bottom of the lake. The first summer after WLS, oh the bliss of jumping far out into the air and the water catching me and holding me up.

My kids graduated in 2011 and 2014. I miss my kids in my house, and I miss their friends. I love it when they're home and their friends who live in the area stop over. I loved entertaining them when they were growing up, so I know what you mean about not minding the cleaning up.

FANTASTIC NEWS, Liz!!!!!! I'm very, very happy for you. I understand the bittersweet nature of the sale for you and DS. Makes complete sense to me. Will DH's Cape house be the new summer base for you, or will you sell that as well, and buy an "ours"?

CC, perhaps your body is acclimating to the new lower weight before moving on down. I believe that is what is going on with me. I have been floating around the same pound all week. Today was down a few tenths, but as you know, I don't concern myself much with tenths any longer. I am pretty sure I am reducing in size and that is good enough for me this week. I have seen my reflection a few times this week and been pleased with the changes I noticed. I'm also pleased with my choice to stay on the 10 mg dose of tirzepatide. I think it's the right call. We'll see how I feel at the end of 4 more weeks at that dose.

Yesterday provided another NSV. For some of you, this will be a 'hunh?' type of NSV, but for me it was a biggo.... I wore a swim suit, took off my shirt and got in a pool with co workers. I had a blast and I was not really self conscious about my size. Yes, I'm still a large bodied guy, but I didn't feel like a big, blubbery walrus and was comfortable and had fun. Lots of value in that for me.

Finally did the bullnosed paver edgers repair this morning. I had several loose edgers on a step that were treacherous and itching to break someone's ankle! Of course, it was a larger job than expected (about 10 loose edgers, instead of the 4 I thought), but still only took about 90 minutes for the full repair. One more thing checked off the summer list. YAY!

Stupid lithium batter charger I bought for travel is faulty. Hopefully, Amazon will be able to replace it by Tuesday! If not, c'est la vie. I have survived all these years without it. I can manage a few more weeks.

Bob Newhart and my Pop were the same age. Newhart's death saddened me, more so than other 'celebrity' deaths lately. Makes me realize how fragile my dad's life is at almost 95. He'll be 95 next month. My brother and I are planning a small celebration for him.

It was supposed to be cooler today (only about 90), but it's well above 90 already. Booo....

Satisfying Saturday to all.... (not as fancy as Liz's adjectives, but I like the alliteration!)
