I have never visited the Laura Ingalls Wider sights. A domestic saint makes no miracles. People speak highly of the one in Minnesota though ( Walnut Grove?) Austin Minnesota has the Spam Museum (Hormel headquarters). Probably not dog friendly. Southern Minnesota by the Mississippi River is very picturesque, but its very flat and Iowa like once you move away from the riverbluffs. Might be too far North from your route, but Baraboo Wisconsin has a Circus Museum (Ringling Brothers Origin) that is very cool. Don't know if outside exhibits allow dog visitors.
Here is a cool State Park close to the WI/MN border. I have not been there for 30 or so years but remember it being so beautiful with great hiking. Not sure if you actually camp in your camper, but is so, they have a camp ground!

Me too! Love ice cream! Have you ever had Graeters brand? To die for. Their toffee chip is my favorite!
Scale was down a few more tenths today, so I have a new digit in the ones place! Yay!
Liz, you gotta cut back on the meds. I worry about your lack of eating. There is no way your body is not cannibalizing muscle tissue to function on as little as you are eating. It's going to mess big time with your metabolism. You don't want to end up gaining weight due to metabolic slow down.
Late last night was spent solidifying and confirming reservations for the road trip. Too many different hotels to track over such a short period! I did make the sad decision to skip Yellowstone on my way home. I will have to save that "bucket list" item for a different trip. Hotels were too expensive for a one night stay. I was able to find great multi night deals, though.... Ha... my brother just texted me suggesting different methods of "hoteling" for Yellowstone. Maybe I will change my mind. We shall see.
UPDATE: Just booked a room for Molly and Me in Yellowstone! My brother has better Google skills than I! I will be staying in the park itself. Yipee... One more item off the bucket list. Now, have to cancel my reservation in Coalville, UT.
I still have an open night between Wisconsin and North Dakota shows. I was thinking about going to Pepin, Wisconsin to visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum. Minnesota Diane, is there anything that is a must see in MN that I can do with a dog in tow? There is a Judy Garland museum in Grand Rapids, MN, but that seems a bit out of the way. Maybe I will Google "Prairie Experiences in MN". That sounds dog friendly!
I am presenting at a professional dog groomer organization today. A bit intimidating in a way because I am not a "pro", but what I do is highly specialized. So few people know the technique. It's estimated that there are fewer than 1000 people world wide at my level of "expertise". That's how damn specialized it has become. There are many, many thousands who can pull hair and roughly trim a terrier, but very few who can put a competitive trim on a dog.
Superfluous Sunday to one and all!
Ice cream remains my favorite dessert. When I was a student at UC Berkeley many, many, many years ago, I had a job as an ice cream scooper at the Swenson's on Durant Ave. Everyone said, "Oh, you'll get so sick of ice cream." Here to tell you, NOT TRUE. I might have gotten a little tired of one particular flavor after eating it every day for a month or so, but I'd just move on to something else. Not my smartest job choice.

OMG! National Ice Cream Day???? It is a day especially created for me!
on 7/21/24 8:34 am
We use AIS from Everybody Loves Raymond... "We're leaving at 8:30 AIS (Asses In Seats)". Not 8:30 finishing up getting ready, 8:30 in the car.
Cloudy today so far. I'm headed to my next door neighbor's for "ladies of the cove" brunch; all the houses at the end of the street. My dad's wife has a nasty cold (and she's just as bad a sick person as my dad! Birds of a feather...) so is not going. I'm taking a salad with chicken and peaches if the peaches are ripe enough. Eek if they aren't! So hard to plan shopping for recipes with fruit and avocados that need to ripen. They are in a paper bag with an apple.
And it's national ice cream day so later we are going for ice cream. i do not expect a drop in the scale!
I have informed Peps, but just in case anyone else plays, I've gotten Wordle in 2 guesses two days in a row! I think I'm suddenly a little psychic, haha.
I should go check the peaches and avocados. Wish me luck...
Take care!
I use the "bus leaves at (whatever time)" phrase too! Not sure where I picked it up, maybe my parents?
Weight still up this morning. Today will be my second injection at 5 mg. Perhaps I'll try and get a walk in later on today!
Going to watch church online instead of attending in person since DH is working nights and sleeping days this weekend.
I bought some metal cranes (the bird) as a lawn decoration to put in place of the tree we took down a few weeks ago. Need to spray them with a clear coat so they don't rust. The tree was surrounded by 4 hostas, so the birds will go in the middle of those.
Time to make breakfast!
Is it Sunday? Must be because "the bus leaves at 7:30" for breakfast at the usual Florida spot. DH is quite a creature of habit sometimes with Sunday breakfast being one of them. Every regular place we stay has a specific place we go to for breakfast at the allotted time. He used to only frequent the same selection of restaurants at night too before I met him, but I have broken him of that and the breakfast habit is fine. He said it started with his father cooking Sunday breakfast every week for the family. A great memory.
We had fun with our friends out on a boat yesterday which kept us cool. The dinner/dance last night was sultry and the banjo based music was not conducive to dancing. But the full "Buck" moon over the water was beautiful.
The first few days here weren't any hotter than it had been up north and there was a nice breeze if you were out of the sun, but last night and today felt like a sauna. The air feels thick to breathe. I'm not sure we will be able to sustain our usual long walk. No specific plans for today other than breakfast and maybe a walk which is fine with me.
It was a struggle to eat enough yesterday again so I am going to start dropping my dosage of tirzepatide this week. I had some great food but could barely eat more than a few small bites. This morning I will get my usual 2 eggs, but I'm going to add hash browns. We shall see how that goes down.
Have a salubrious Sunday!
