Greetings from the porch! We got in about midnight and DBIL picked us up and deposited us at home. It's one of the love languages of DH's family. They will pick each other up from any place and ridiculous time. We told him we would take an Uber, but he insisted. Very kind.
Things look good here at the house and all my plants are blooming. There is squirrel damage though. They ate some succulents and a begonia. They might have been coming back for another feast, because when they were running across the yard toward the porch, they actually kind of screamed when they saw me.
I think Triple A is always a good idea. We have the kind that will tow you 100 miles, and have used that feature more than once over the years.
Matted pet hair! Argh. We had a fluffy, long haired cat who matted seemingly overnight. We finally had to except he needed to be clipped once a year. His brother was never impressed when he came back home looking like a rat for a few days.
I would really like to hang close to home these next few weeks. We will need to go see my parents, and my Aussie sister who is visiting.
The weather here has not really improved. It's warm and sunny today, but a thunderstorm is predicted for the afternoon, followed by a week of below normal temps. I think Monday's forecast was a high of 68! Boo!
We got upgraded to Delta Comfort again. Has a few more perks than economy (or as DH calls it: steerage). The best is closer to the front. I finished a book on the plane: The Perfect Marriage. It was a free Prime download. I've read more complicated psychological thrillers, but it was entertaining and quick to read.
Well I suppose time to start laundry, and think about a trip for some groceries.
ETA: I am up 1 pound! Yeah!!! If I'm retaining any water from traveling, I may find myself a bit below my vacation starting weight in a few days.
Your view sounds lovely!

So glad Justice is improved!!
My dad is doing so much better. He went sailing yesterday. I couldn't help but I told you so him by suggesting if he'd gone to the doctor Monday instead of late Thursday he wouldn't have lost so many days to it!
Kirby is the worst to brush! He thinks it's a giant game and I struggle to brush his undercarriage and ears - the places most likely to mat. He bites (in play, but it's still teeth), squirms, flails, and kicks. A real workout for me. He's got two big mats in his groin and I can't get him to let me cut them out (brushing them out is a non-starter). Fergus would let me at least brush him for a few minutes before he would call an end to it. I think at Pep's suggestion I will get a table with harnesses for home, but I don't really feel like buying all that for here too. I may see if Claudia can help me hold him down.
Looking outside, the lake is an absolute mirror this morning. Nothing moving out there except the fishermen walking along the channel wall hoping for bass or perch.
Anyway, maybe some time outside today would be nice. And maybe a dog walk. Yesterday's quick 20 minute walk took an hour as we kept running into people - friends, neighbors, the contractor... I also ordered a couple of new lamps that arrived that I need to unbox. Off to get a protein shake. Have a good day everyone!
Weight 122.4.
What a difference a day makes. Justice ate a little and drank a normal amount last night after taking a short walk, then slept super heavy (after sleeping most of the day). He looks and acts great this morning. He already ate a little more and I gave him his pain medication. It was scary yesterday morning. We so love these family members.
DS called in panic yesterday afternoon because his car was shimmying when he was driving to DD's home, 90 miles away. All I could think was that here was another thing I was going to have to deal with. DS is not good with mechanical issues and likes me to problem solve for him. DD called a little while later and told me not to worry about it as she and her fiancé were going to work with DS to resolve it. Thank goodness. I think I am going to buy him a AAA membership as a gift. Everyone but he has it in the family.
Tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of DH and my first date. We are going to lunch today at the place we met. Hopefully the weather clears as it is on the water.
As CC says, that's all I know. Have a satisfying Saturday!

I can't imagine how hot it must be with the kilns firing. Makes me think of hot flash days.

I so love popcorn--any version of it! Even with all that fiber, I never seem to find the stopping point before it's all gone.

When I was a kid, friends and I took our dime or 15 cents and hung around the local 5&10 candy counter huffing the wonderful endorphin loaded smell of roasting nuts and deep frying Spanish peanuts. Instant gratification the moment the coins changed hands for the warm paper bags of goodness.
Greetings all
Sun is out and it's almost hot. Slept late as DH went early to a doctor appointment. He had some more leg vein stuff done. I hope it's really needed but I guess so. He is now sentenced to 72 hours in compression stockings. Not fun on a warm day.
Spent some time in the studio trying desperately to make stuff for my sparce display. Talk about hot! I went out into the kiln yard and with two huge natural gas kilns firing all day it was pretty warm. But its a nice place to be in the rain.
DH went to costco and brought home a chicken casserole. Thats dinner for a few days. Good thing. As mentioned the salmon roll up was a bust. I felt like I was eating a goldfish sandwich. Even Tesla would not eat it. But Poppy the Pig did.
Poor Justice! Sorry he was feeling bad but glad he got some additional help. He is a little guy! How would any of us feel if we lost 7 teeth. Seems like little dogs have more dental issues. Once my old cairn grabbed the other one and pulled a canine tooth right out of its head! It was sticking out sideways! Took her to the vet and they pushed it back in and it was fine. Who knew?
Yeah house repairs are expensive. Much of our home has been replaced. Roof, siding, flooring, ductwork, bathroom. Not much left. Deck is next.
Movie popcorn CC! It's the best. Not sure why - maybe the smell when you come in. But I remember old Kmart years ago had popcorn and the whole store smelled like stale popcorn and it was awful. I assume I could just go in the theatre, buy popcorn, and leave since they now sell the tickets at the popcorn stand.
Car mice!! Years ago I had that in a car I didn't drive for awhile. They had a nest made of kleenex. Agreed - how could you know you had mice until you opened it up to look?
The bear is still in our neighborhood but I have not seen it. Just as well.
CC glad your dad has meds including codeine. Thats the only thing that works. Hoping for rapid recovery for everyone's sake.
Hey I have a few sweet pea blooms. Purple, lavender and white. Pic when its peaking.
