I haven't read James yet, but really look forward to it. I've read Huckleberry Finn at least three times and loved it from the get-go. I never ever misunderstood its message, even as a tween growing up in Mississippi.
I look forward to hearing what your DH and DD thought about Nosferatu.
A relative who's an actual playwright (he gets paid for his plays) went to see Nosferatu and walked out after 30 minutes. He said it sucked--not the word he used, but what he meant. However, quite a lot of folks who are paid to review movies have praised the movie's cinematography and acting.
Love your story about DD's coming-out season.

The much of the wire insulation used today is made from soy beans. Thus, the attraction!
The electrical system in my Ford Expedition was eaten by squirrels. Ford stopped using the soy insulation, but the German manufacturers have not. Still a problem in Mercedes and BMWs and Audis and Volkswagen.
Squirrels are notorious for chewing up outdoor lights. We have way, way too many squirrels in our area, and we have given up putting lights in trees or bushes. We string them from poles on our deck. Even then one of the varmints crawled out on a WIRE and chewed off one of the Edison bulbs. Apparently, some plastics used in outdoor lights smells like food to them.
141.3. Down a bit!
Church this morning. We had a guest speaker, very good. She told her Mom's story of being a teenager in Nazi Germany during the war. The overall message is that we all have a story (testimony) that needs to be shared. Interestingly enough, I just completed a book that Vale got for me called, Mom, I want to hear your story which took me through a series of questions that helped me write my story!
Most of the outside decorations are down. Two more wires to the lighted trees were cut so now DH thinks it must be rabbits chewing on them. Darn rodents! I think I will tackle the inside decorations tomorrow. Dinner out with DH's work buddy and his wife tonight.
Safe travels back to FL Liz. I'm glad Justice does okay on the plane. I doubt we could fly with our puppies!
Your description of the weather here these days was perfect! No wonder we dream of the tropics!
Rain is gloomy! It was foggy/drizzly on the way to the airport today. Hopefully tomorrow brings sun along with warmth.

And I bet warmish was high 50's/60? In Florida that is considered freezing LOL.

215.0 Weight back down to an "acceptable" number. Hahaha.... A year ago I only dreamed of weighing this. My NUT therapist read her notes from last December to me. Boy, I was in a bad place emotionally. She noted I wouldn't even tell her my exact weight, just that it was over 280. She told me she was worried for me at that time. In hindsight I wonder if that depression helped me get on the medication train? Probably. So, so glad I did!
It is raining, raining, raining... The creek is full, but flowing lazily. A normal winter day for this area of CA. BFF is having a lot of trouble with the ongoing gloom (and of course, the heart issue)! Wish I could help him, but all I can do is be there for him. It must be dreadful feeling down and what seems "hopeless" for days and weeks on end.
2 client dogs today. They are easy dogs. One is small and the other one is a clip job. I had planned to do a little cleaning in my Transit today, too, but with the rain, probably not. I still have Buster grooming to do and plenty of inside chores that need doing.
Safe travels Liz! I'm sure you'll enjoy the warmth. I am looking forward to sunny days and warm temps in Indio later this week! (For those of you not in the know, Indio is the eastern most city in the Coachella Valley (aka Palm Springs). Other than its exquisite Polo fields and horse properties, it is considered the arm pit of the valley. I get to hang out at the Polo fields for the dog shows, and there are a lot of mid price restaurants with great food, so I am quite fond of Indio! It fits my bill, just fine!
Off to feed the dogs and get ready for my day!
I fell asleep in my chair after posting here! I told Ron, "I'm just too old for that much a disruption to my sleep schedule!" LOL. He stays up super late all the time, so for him it wasn't a big deal.
I will be interested to hear what your DD and DH think about Nosferatu. I liked it, but was not enthralled.
