In my former life I was a project planner for many years. I guess it comes in handy sometimes!

We are getting ours once we get back to Florida. We have only had Moderna and I've never been sick on it other than the first time so I'm sticking with that.

Asian food is often pretty salty. I would blame the uptick on that!

P.S. I saw this yesterday: a man riding a beautiful horse with western tack along the sidewalk in our town. He was not holding the reins because HE WAS LOOKING AT HI PHONE!!!!

Beating the shark by 100 points! Impressive! Maybe you should take on the shark title!

Greetings all

It's sunny and warm here. It was almost hot at Scrabble as my friend lives more inland. I won all my games today including defeating The Shark by 100 points. I did have good draws.

After that I had to go on a somewhat dreaded mission which was to sort out some check payment issues relating to studio bills. Its complicated by the personalities of the parties involved; a person who won't let a sentence be finished before getting defensive and other people who let stuff sit and fester for months and then are calling other people who have no power to do anything. Hence enter Diane the perpetual peace maker. I think I have it mostly sorted. Stopped at the bank to order copies of some older checks. There is a small possibility that someone stole and cashed a couple of checks but more likely someone forgot they were received. Oy vey.

So after scrabble I got a taco. Quite good.

So Liz just one more push and you can relax. Hope you will do so.

DD good on you for getting flu shot. I agree Phizer shots are best. Mine were all P except one booster was Moderna and that one made me feel crappy.

GL with tree grinding Paula. Sorry you got shovel duty.

I thawed some ham to have with beans for tonight.

DH is happily watching Ancient Aliens. Meanwhile I must get back to my banking forensics.

Yes, welcome October! A little coolish today, but bright sun! It's been marvelous weather.

Today's news: I got my flu shot at a vaccination clinic at work today. I could have had a Covid shot too, but all they had was Moderna. I'm a Pfizer girl, so I'll be going to CVS later this evening for my preferred brand. In my study of 2, I never get sick from Covid shots. DH has only had Moderna, and gets sick everytime. I'm not going to chance it! We are continuing our data collection: he is also going to a Pfizer shot this time. We will note if he gets sick or not sick.

That's it. Work was again fine, my weight is nicely steady, and I slept pretty well last night. Oh, and I'm still wearing sandals to work. It's a good life.

160.2, Grrrrrrr. Up again for no reason except maybe calories are too low and my body is in preservation mode.

We lost a beautiful maple tree after putting that curb surround around it (they warned us that it could happen as they have to cut some roots to get the curbing in). We cut the tree down ourselves but needed to get the stump ground down. Called a few weeks ago and we were told about a week. We asked for a couple of day's notice so we could take out our rubber mulch to reuse (that stuff is expensive) and save the hosta plants in the area. Got a text at 11:15 saying they will be out today! Guess what we have been doing since then? DH isn't happy!

Time to figure out lunch! We went out for Asian food last night and I have tons of red curry Thai shrimp left! Can't decide if that will be lunch or dinner!

Liz, didn't you say DS's apartment was already packed with furniture? Where will he put the new stuff? You should be a professional move organizer if you ever want a post-retirement job.

Lazy day yesterday with minimal HOA drama encroaching, which was much needed. The drama is still there, it just wasn't directed at me yesterday. It is still HOT here. Hopefully relief next week.

I have an appointment at a framer's shop in Flagstaff today to put new liners in two paintings from my parent's house (the ones with mystery stains on the linen liners, which I thought were mats, but was corrected by the framer lady when describing). Hopefully since I'm not replacing the frames, it will not be as expensive as framing usually is! I was thinking of dropping Kirby at the doggie daycare up there for a practice run. He needs dog socializing as evidenced by his meeting with Archie the other day. And it's about 10 degrees cooler up there in Flag (ha, what the locals call it). That will require driving up there twice unless I can find enough to do up there (doubtful), but that might be okay. It's a gorgeous drive.

183 (I saw 182.8, but reweighed just to be sure and always take the higher number). Tomorrow is shot day.

I feel awful for the people of North Carolina. I researched that area of the Blue Ridge mountains quite a bit when deciding where to move, so the towns, the highways, the rivers, all sound familiar. My cousin just bought a home in Brevard not far outside Asheville, which is on the high side of the river so while it's okay, there are no roads left in or out, and no services expected for at least 2-3 weeks. Nature is a powerful force.

Hair shedding has finally caught up with me after 8 months on the meds. That's really not too bad in my book and certainly better than any historical weight loss I've had. I'm stepping up the protein and the iron, both of which I got a little lazy about over the last few months. Getting my hair cut Friday which should help with volume.

I think that's all that's going on in my sphere. Hope you all have a great day!
