My cousin has left after a lovely visit. He's great! And zero politics were broached which meant an even nicer visit. Just lots of laughs, dog walks, puzzles, and reminiscing as it should be.
Nothing planned today, but it's another gorgeous day in a long string of them. Eating and desserts increased and digestion/elimination interrupted by houseguests, but still down 0.8 of the 1.8 I managed to gain last week. I have less appetite than before meds, but nothing like the rest of you. Oh well. Something is better than nothing!
Off to start on laundry... take care!
Write that damn letter! Retirement is da bomb.
I still chuckle when I recall how worried I was 10 years ago thinking that retirement would be the end of "me" (the lifelong hard-working girl). Two years later when I retired I rapidly and happily realized that to every time there is a season.

What a lovely description of small-town Americana. Corn queens!
And on the corn front, we've had sweet corn on the cob the last two nights. It's incredibly delicious!

The discussion about kayaking and corn yesterday reminded me that I need both in my life. So little time this summer. The kayaks are still at my house so I just have to wheel them down to the pond. Need to plan that!
Last night we had a good meal at a restaurant we hadn't tried previously in Saratoga Springs. I ate half of an appetizer as my meal and DH ate half of his main meal because we both ate a lot of a delicious shared salad. We took the leftovers because we have a refrigerator and a microwave in our room but when are we going to eat them???
We will leave for the horse track in a couple of hours. We like to get there right at the opening so we can find decent parking and good hangout spot within the grounds. We don't get dressed up and sit in the fancy areas. We just bring our folding chairs and cooler and sit under the trees. It is easier to get up from there to watch the horses and riders walk to the track before each race (my favorite part), then we walk over to the side of the track to watch them run.
My next shipment of tirzepatide arrives today (wouldn't you know). SIL is going over to the house to put it in the refrigerator for me. I'm glad I got this shipment as it looks like there is a serious risk that the FDA is going to shut down allowing compounding of the meds at some point. When I read BB's comments on FB about the raging hunger coming back when she stopped I got scared. I looked up the expiration for the patents and for Zepbound it is in 2039! So unless Medicare requirements related to weight loss drugs changes or Lilly reduces the price I am going to lose access to the medication at a fair price.
Time to get cleaned up for the day. Have a winning Wednesday!

I guess that's the beauty of warmer climates and boats - the docks can stay out all the time. Probably the only risk to them in the south is hurricanes.

If you don't want to do it, don't!

You are doing great! I felt like the tiredness subsided after a while (unless I got used to it?). I had a lot of energy when we were getting the house ready to sell - at that point I had been on the tirzepatide for just over 2 months.

I haven't had any fresh corn this summer! Need to put that on the to-do list!

We bought 2 dozen the other week, cooked it then cut off the cob to freeze for the winter! Tastes summer good all year!
