Weight 121. Shot day today. Hopefully it will calm down my hunger, though it was better yesterday.
I was awake around 4 thinking about Florida. We all got up at 5 though Justice didn't seem like he was ready LOL. The damage reports from where my friends are don't seem too onerous yet, but the one from Venice still hasn't come in. Venice is just south of Siesta Key where Milton made landfall. On social media they are saying that it wasn't as bad as Ian so that is a good sign. Yesterday afternoon the fear where we live was Tornados. Several people in Fort Pierce, just south of Vero Beach, were killed in a Tornado. The power was out for about an hour in Vero late yesterday afternoon, then back on for the night but it went out again early this morning. I get notices from the camera in the house when it goes out. I should clarify that this will happen when either power or Wi-Fi goes out, but likely it was the power.
Today we will just wait to hear how bad it is. I expect the power outages on the west coast of Florida will be a big deal for the next few days.
I should clarify what the CEO at DS's company planned. He wasn't going to fly if commercial airlines weren't flying. He was going to use the corporate jet if they couldn't rebook the employees on a commercial airline early enough. Right now they are rebooked to fly in late today on a commercial flight, but that will only happen if Orlando Airport is open by then. We have a friend in Orlando *****ported that it was raining hard and he had no power but there wasn't much damage there. At that point the hurricane was just getting to the east coast so still passing over Orlando.
Today the plan is to ship the Florida boxes then meet DH's sisters for dinner off-Cape. Have a thrifty Thursday!

I feel like your home is jaw dropping, so I can't imagine something all that much better. Your house has such amazing views and great bones.

Honestly, the time they will be useful here is limited. Between scorpions, snakes, wasps, tarantulas, bats, roaches, locusts, lizards, no see ums, mosquitoes, birds, 110 degree heat and 15 degree snow storms, I think the idea is better than practicality of them!
Boredom and transitions are the worst for me! Procrastination eating is another biggie!
Peps, count me in the emotional eating cohort. I can be triggered by boredom, stress, procrastination, and other ailments.

Day/night 1 of conferences is done, one more night tomorrow. One parent cried. I hope it was because this year was starting better for her daughter. She had a very rough time socially last year. Middle school can really chew up the nice kids. Sigh.
Speaking of emotional eating, definitely did some tonight as baked treats were provided and lord knows you need comfort on a 12 hour day, fraught with emotions; yours, the parents and the kids. And I learn yet again the comfort or relief gained isn't very long lasting, and leaves your tummy feeling weird. Tomorrow parents are bringing a meal, which will offer comfort, but potentially better choices.
Time to get the bedtime routine underway. Watching the news about Florida, and hoping those who chose to hunker down, or had no easy way to leave are safe.
Oh I love those doors/walls that can roll back and open to a great expanse of outdoor space. Not too useful in Minnesota though. All the bugs in the summer, all the snow in the winter. Guess I'll just have to keep my 6 foot slider.
It's that time of year when you go from hot to chilly so quickly.
I believe that WLS was successful for me, because along with restriction, it did quiet the food noise. I was fighting a war on two fronts: biological and emotional. Removing the hormone driven impulse made it easier to deal with the emotional impulse, or the head hunger as some call it. Also, I don't think there are many people who don't experience a desire to eat something absent real hunger. That urge strikes just about everyone, it's just for some people, the emotional call to eat is not as frequent, or maybe as persistent as it is for some of us.
