Diane said it was warm up her way. It was downright HOT here. Was 100 degrees when I drove home from school.

Had another good workout this evening - even with the heat.

I'm in the I need new clothes phase of weight loss. I don't have much that fits right now and I'm not loving the oversized look of most of my shirts. What's a boy to do? Buy some new gym clothes, course! Well, they are in the shopping cart. Haven't pushed the "buy" button yet.

The tirzepatide conversation piqued my curiosity. As you all know, I had a lot of trepidation about taking the weight loss meds and did a lot of reading before I took the plunge. I did not do a deep dive into finding information on taking GLP-1 for "cosmetic weight loss" yesterday, but did try to find some information. Closest I could find was warnings against using the GLP-1 meds for small weight loss goals (5-20 pounds). The reason being that the rebound effect of going off the GLP-1s can be extremely intense and lead to a regain of more than one lost. So, in Bonnie's case I am wondering since she had very little weight to lose and was within normal BMI range when she started, if the hormonal effect was significantly stronger on her - thus the low dose needed to cause an intense long term appetite reduction and food aversion. Or perhaps, she is more sensitive to the med. But it sounds to me like her "Food Noise" is back with capital letters!!!!! For me the lack of "food noise" is one of the greatest benefits of the GLP-1. The other information that I found very interesting is that one of the research MDs working with the drug suggested that before decided whether or not to take the med patients should ask themselves if they are ready to commit to the drug for the long term - even for maintenance. He said patients should be ready to take the drug "for life". I am hoping that when it comes time for me to reduce my dose there is some type of guidance. I have devised a plan already and am hoping the compounding companies will work with patients on maintenance plans. I have no qualms about staying on the med indefinitely. I have never felt more normal around food as I do taking the med. I still get great pleasure from my food, but am very easily satisfied and have little trouble eating all my favorites without feeling triggered.

Let's just say I was happy today was shot day! LOL!

BTW, weight was up .7 today. Totally fine by me, though.

DD, so happy for your lovely class this year. You'd already know if it was going to be a doozy. I'm sure you're getting a bit of a honeymoon, but it sounds like you are in for a lovely last year! YAY!

Off to bed for me....

Greetings all

Another sunny warm day here. T shirt weather for me. I don't own very many as long sleeves are the rule here. I went to the studio for a while and made a few new things. Place was pretty empty today as I am sure all are at the beach. Lots of noisy birds around today. Yesterday I watched a hummingbird feed on all of my sweet peas which are in decline but apparently still appetizing to the hummer.

DH is exploring new frontiers in electronics. Something about our Tivo system becoming obsolete and changing to some streaming service and then new routers and now call to the cable company about new line to the house. He explains all this to me in great detail but I don't pay much attention. His favorite thing is when the cable guy comes over. Tomorrow is DH birthday so we will go to lunch with friends. I am also going to help can tomatoes. Big day. And cake.

Stopped at the store for a few things. Corn on the cob looked good. Ditto steak. There was ground goat meat! Passed on that though I have eaten goat and it's pretty good.

Yes I saw BB post about hunger issues. Seems like the balance is what eludes some of us. Still searching....

DD Glad school is good. Pagan festival sounds fun. I bet it's actually pretty tame, fun and silly. We have a fall parade here called the "All Species Parade" where you are to show up dressed as your favorite species. Also a very loud samba parade. Think I will phone in that one.

Not much else. There was a new episode of Slow Horses last night. No telling what changes there will be when the tv system is revised. Just so long as I can watch Forensic Files late at night when I can't sleep.

Another decent day!! I thanked the kids for making the first week so fun. They have been awesome. I forgot my small group classes could be like this. DH just asked me how my day was, and I said great! He looked surprised and said, really? Yup, really. There will be bumps along the way, but it will expected kind of bumps.

I have a sub tomorrow so I can go to the funeral of my nephew's father in law. Cancer takes another good soul, someone my exact age. Sobering.

Not much else to say. We have tickets to a jazz concert tomorrow evening. Saturday, hoping to go to farmer's market. There's also a Pagan Festival in a pretty park in Minneapolis and DH is curious to see what exactly this entails, so that may also be on the agenda. I have my belief system as a Catholic, and it gives me peace, but I have no problem with hearing about other ideas. Would probably have shook up my Grandmas though if they knew I was hanging out with Pagans. :)

167.8, another slight increase. Seriously, how can I gain at 1000 calories per day? I'm guessing some water weight since I am 4 days past due for my injection. My appetite has returned! I actually wanted a snack before bed last night (and had the calories to eat) and am hungry for lunch instead of just trying to figure out what I can choke down to get some nutrition in! I think I will take my shot tonight. It is my last day of the antibiotic as well.

Woman's Bible study this morning and now it is pouring outside. Good day to crawl under the covers and take a nap. Our meeting room was air conditioned and I'm feeling chilled to the bone! A down side of reduced calories and losing weight is always being cold! I think FL temps will be welcomed!

Temps are going to drop all weekend, Fall is a comin' for sure! Cooler temps usually make me want to bake yummy treats! Hopefully the injections will curb that some. Poor DH has had to resort to store cookies and baked goods to satisfy his sweet tooth!

Lots of talk back and forth in our thread yesterday! Also, I saw a post on TT from BB about her struggles with hunger now that she is off the medication. I wonder if she could try a half dose?

We are leaving in a bit to drive back to my home. The fire detector inspection is this morning. I am spending the day doing something with SIL, then will likely come back here to DH's home for a few more days tomorrow. We have no other plans for the weekend now that a couple of things have been cancelled. We might have gone to visit DS in Portland ME, but he is leaving for a weeklong business trip tomorrow.

Today is shot day and I have no idea what my weight is so I will likely stay on the same dose. I do feel like I am eating more so most likely have not lost anymore which is the goal right now in trying to figure out maintenance.

Have a thrilling Thursday!

Exactly: part of our family story.

Great that you can be cheerful rather than washed out. It bodes well for a good last year!

I don't love to cook but when I do everything needs to be in a spot which I deem logical. Takes a lot of arranging in a new kitchen to get it that way. Since I am only 5'3" it also means nothing important on top shelves or high cabinets. Very frustrating here in DH's kitchen where the oils, vinegars and spices are in a cabinet above the microwave which is over the stove. I'm going to have to keep a stool handy here (they don't have any but I have 2 which will end up here).

I had a sleep study prior to VSG where I had to stay in a place overnight with electrodes attached. Most people I know have some sort of sleep study at home these days (an app on the phone I think?).
