Paula, I love your Stephen Ministry stories. Thanks for sharing them. I can't think of a better thing to do for someone than to be present, really see/hear them, listen attentively, and then not offer any advice or opinions about their values, decisions, and actions, but just be there for them.

Lizanne, this is the club no one wanted to be in. The only positive is that everyone in the club understands what you're going through and wants to support you, however you need to be supported. Big hugs.

Greetings all
It's sunny after a foggy start. DH is out shopping somewhere so who knows what will come home.
Last night was great. Our football team won big over its arch rival (sorry CC) and the fans were over the top. Studio buddy came over and actually only griped for a little while. The chili turned out great and there is plenty more for tonight. So win win all around. I regard it as a sign of aging that I care about college football but so be it.
DD was that the pagan festival with the tarot readings? Sounds pretty tame. Once I did a fair palm reader but cannot remember what was said.
Liz sounds like you and DH are having a perfect day. Especially the fuzzy blanket and Justice. Enjoy the evening.
Paula let us know when you find a good breakfast protein. There are some low carb breakfast sandwiches that I tried once. Way too salty but there might be some other brands. I have a little kitchen gadget that makes egg bites but more trouble than worth. Actually you can buy the egg bites ready made I think.
Picture sorting is on my list too. Way at the bottom. I have a box that was shipped to me of my mom's stuff since we had no time to go through it when she died. Sat at SIL for awhile and she tossed old slides with was fine with me. So there sits the box. I know it should go to one of those services that sorts and digitizes it but not today.
Hey Ann keep us posted on your travels. Major road tripping!
Gallery duty tomorrow afternoon. Also kiln opening. If I get going early enough I can pick up new stuff for the gallery. All the travel takes awhile.
Time to do the treadmill. Boring but effective. Diane S
The dress actually has a built-in bra - I'm just a bit saggy/small for it. So I need to make sure they don't slip down. It doesn't look too big, but I just feel like that could happen (especially since it did in my bathing suit the other day - not a good look). The other option is having the dress taken in a bit but I don't think I have the time for that now (less than 3 weeks). I'm going to experiment with some options and have something saved on Amazon just in case none of the things I have will work.

Thinking about your dress Liz, do you think a tailor could add bra cups to the dress? Make them an integral part of the dress like a lining? Then no straps?
You definitely get it. I flip from feeling like I am losing so much to being happy to release it. Depends on the day, my mood, etc.

I've been MIA lately due to the 3,000 miles we've driven in the past 9 days. Yeah, I know. It's been crazy due to Labor Day, family, medical, and real estate matters. I hope the next few weeks are calmer.
I'll try to catch up here over the next few days.
Re weight, I've gained 3-4 pounds due to lack of exercise and eating out so much. Looking forward to more fruits and veggies again.
Lizanne, continuing hugs of empathy for you. This must be such a confusing, painful/numbing time. For me, it felt like gravity had evaporated.

Great idea, I'll do some researching myself. There may be a breakfast quinoa option I might like too.
Happy Birthday to your DH!! I love that he starts his new decade with an early morning golf game. The two of you are ageless!
I get the picture sorting sadness. My Mom has a lot of movies from when I was young. I loved watching them in my 20s and 30s, but haven't seen them since. My heart squeezes when I think about them now, could I watch those movies of my 50/60 something Grandparents, my aunts and uncles in their early 30s? I want to, and I don't.
Yesterday DH and I talked about some of our "treasures". Why we hang onto to things can be so complicated. I'm more on the side of release them so someone else can enjoy them. For DH, it's not a moment of releasing, it's a moment of losing something. Yes, complicated.
This morning I woke up at a decent time for me, and enjoyed a London Fog tea in bed while watching a local news show. Seems like everyone in the Metro area was out and about yesterday, as all the footage of the various fall festivals and fairs were filled with folks out enjoying the beautiful autumn weather.
One more tea, and reading the Sunday paper, than off to the winery!
I sure did not like the Quaker Oats high protein packets I bought. There must be some higher protein overnight oats a person could make with Greek yogurt etc. I haven't gotten around to researching that. On my list of good intentions.
