120.5 - no surprise at the uptick as traveling yesterday has me a bit constipated. Hoping this morning's coffee takes care of that.

The temperature here in Albany is 27 this morning so not horrible. The high will be in the mid-30's. Not sure we will take long Justice walks here but he has staked out his spot on the couch under a fuzzy blanket. He and Stella, a smaller doodle, get along fine except when Stella tries to cozy up with me when he is already there. He snaps his displeasure and she moves elsewhere.

Travel yesterday was smooth. We had breakfast with DSD before she flew out to Miami. Granddaughter was home mid-day from her Dad's and grandson home from his activities in late afternoon. The neighboring girl who is like an older sister (18) came over to hang out and we took the 2 girls to dinner (grandson declined and got his own stuff). A friend of the older one came over for a bit after work. Nice young ladies! I met them a few years ago and it is great to see them keeping their great personalities as they mature. The older girls are seniors so are making college decisions these days.

Today we will drive around DH's old neighborhood where the kids grew up and eat lunch at the deli he loves to get lunch from. We will split a Reuben today (the best I have ever had) and I plan to get chicken soup to go for tomorrow. Not much else on the agenda other than shuttling the granddaughter around. The grandson has his own car so we just have to keep tabs on him.

Have a magnanimous Monday!

Liz, what a perfect space to dwell in amongst gchildren old enough to take care of themselves; you just get to play with and enjoy!

Up and getting around early. Have taken some more x-mas down and made a batch of cottage cheese- experimenting to see how dry curds keep in the freezer. Will pull the frozen out in a few days, "cream" it and compare with fresh for texture and taste. Am hoping for positive results as a whole batch makes more than I can use before tossing. Like yogurt, it is so much tastier and costs only the price of the milk used.

We're off on a short trip this afternoon to pick up some items won online, mostly art paper, tools and paints. Scored big time, including 3 Arches water color blocks (9x12, 11x14 and 18x24) $47, Koh-I-noor set of pens $9, Paasche airbrush kit $11... etc as well as some mystery boxes .... For this half off half kind of shopper--I'm in 7th heaven!!!

Congrats on your online wins, although I have no idea what any of those things are. However, I hope you'll show us some of your creations.

Here in Kentucky we're still snowed and iced in, but the streets are cleaned up. DH and I figure the whole mess will be gone by Thursday.

I am in the making New Year's resolutions phase of 2025, which always makes me feel good. This morning I read the BEST thing on Facebook about what someone's second grade teacher told them that has made a great difference in their life: "If something feels too hard to do, it just means that the first step isn't small enough." Isn't that brilliant?

Here's to small enough first steps! :-)

I am amazed it all hasn't melted yet in Kentucky. Agree with small steps - having been a project planner in my past that was always the key for any type of project.

I was into making cottage cheese for a while a few years ago but then I got lazy.
