119.6 - One-half sleeve of crackers eaten last night. Injection on-board this morning. Enough said.

Maybe my body is feeling like I need more fuel to stay warm LOL. This morning it is 41, feeling like 35 outside. The heating function in this house is terrible so Justice and I are under the heated throw. DH thought I was crazy when I bought it but I think he is jealous now.

I cancelled golf this morning though I am going to the luncheon for the group. The head of the group somewhat encouraged it because no one really wanted to play in this weather. It will be interesting to see who stuck with it. I kept going through what I could wear to stay warm this morning but after freezing at bocce yesterday even with 4 layers on I decided to bag it. BTW, our team won both bocce games.

So today involves trying to keep warm, walking Justice, a luncheon and maybe dinner out to break up the lasagne eating.

Have a Two-Dog Night Thursday!

Here is the lasagne recipe BTW (really good). I doubled it to fill a lasagne pan so I could freeze half:

That reads really great! I'm going to have to try it. Two goals of retirement: cook more dinners at home and put my green thumb back in service.

It really does sound great! Thanks, Liz.

214.8 again.... I can be pleased with that. Stupid dog drama continued yesterday, so to reduce stress I went to the gym and di d 2.5 miles on the elliptical which burned 350+ calories. I felt better afterwards, too. What a productive way to deal with excess stress! Who knew I had it in me? (BTW, the egocentric, self absorbed co-owner accused me of "torturing" her because I'm not dropping my complaint. Um...I'm not the one who submitted a fraudulent transfer of ownership...Sigh...)

Found a new Quest Bar flavor I like a lot: Apple Pie. It's really good - even has little bits of dried apple in it. Not sure if any of you enjoy Quest Bars. They help me make my protein goals in a way that I enjoy.

Shot day today. I do feel like I could up my dose again, but I also realize I am at a point where all of my eating foibles are on an emotional level now. The eating that does not support my weight goals has nothing to do with appetite suppression or hunger. It's all about feelings! I so love/hate being adult. But the truth is liberating - really!

I believe the GLP1/GIP has given me a gift that even WLS did not. I have a sense of normalcy about my eating and relationship to eating that I have always lacked. It is interesting to me how CC, DD and I react to the drug compared to Liz and Paula. I wouldn't mind having a little of the Liz-Paula effect, honestly, but I'm really very happy that I can eat normal amounts of food and can enjoy what I eat. Interesting, too, is that none of the 4 of us has developed "Ozempic Face". We all look very healthy and facially fit - no droopy, hollow, gray-green faces here!

Hoping for some fire containment in So Cal today. The damage is profound.

Some very nice tributes to President Carter this morning. I know he will never be seen as a great (or even good) president, I am very grateful that he is being recognized for his great achievements as a humanitarian, his authenticity, his kindness and charity and his inclusiveness.

I started booking side excursions for the European River Cruise last night. Fun stuff!!!!!

Sounds like the co-owner is a narcissist- never admits to being in the wrong.

I felt like I ate normally - I have enjoyed everything I eat. The meds just keep me from overeating even if I like the food and from craving stuff when I'm not really hungry (most of the time).

Ditto your diagnosis of narcissism with a big streak of assholery.

Greetings all

Another sunny day and we should have them for a week. Monday one of the puppies and owner is coming to town so I arranged a sub at the gallery and we will take dogs to the beach. I am feeling able enough to do that at the easy beach and I think Poppy will be fine. She has never been and has no clue. Walter, on the other hand, has much beach experience in San Fran. Tesla will not go. Too naughty.

So I got a call back from eye surgeon and they never got a referral. So had to remedy that. Geez waiting for months only to be told "gee the fax maybe failed". Well crap, who uses fax machines anymore? Anyway I now have pre surgery apt for feb 7. I was really noticing grayness of vision the other day so glad I followed up.

Yep Peps, Jimmy Carter was a good guy. The tributes were really interesting. Hoping your dog fraudster gets what is deserved. Exercise is indeed mood lifting. How many hundred thousand times do I have to learn that lesson? I almost always feel better afterwards yet it takes an act of congress to get me going.

Liz that recipe looks good. Maybe someday. Good eats for the cold weather you are having. We have more tastee sandwiches for tonight. DH really likes them and they take minimal effort.

CC if we don't hear from you soon we must assume you are imprisoned by your bed and seek assistance!!!

Paula enjoy Maui. Are you on the south side?

I will do gym and studio today. Also need post office. Can't remember if I mentioned it, but my scrabble friend is a quilter and made a baby quilt for my nephew and his wife after hearing the story of their fertility struggles. Its so sweet!!

Brother was getting ready to evacuate the Hollywood hills but I guess things changed and they don't have to leave. I would have gone anyway. He has another place. why stay??

Yes we watched some of Fisk. I like it. DH is ho hmm. We started the series "White Collar" last night which has quite a few seasons. It's a fluffy cop show but engaging. No aliens. Diane S

I was not consumed by my new bed last night, but I did get startled awake when it suddenly raised the head on its own. I forgot it does that when it detects you snoring. I thought it was trying to attack me again. Now I'll remember.

Emergency MI non-profit board meeting in an hour because the president wants to buy a plot of swampy land next to our existing plot of swampy land and has a false sense of urgency about it all because he doesn't want someone to swoop in and snap up the swamp in the dead of MI winter. Am I adequately portraying my eyerolling? He wanted approval over email, but the secretary and I said no, we need to discuss as it's a significant chunk of our savings. I don't like this guy. Happy someone is taking my job later this month. And I'll be done with them and him.

Yeah, I may have thought Jimmy was a lousy president, but he was a good man, never malicious or out to profit for himself, and he had a kind heart. Also my opinion is colored by sharing his last name and having a dad named Billy. Those were 4 tough years in elementary school.

After finishing the Jackal, we've moved on to Lockerbie on Pea**** It's a 4 part series with Colin Firth. Heavy subject, but very interesting as I remember the crash, but was a preoccupied as a sophomore in high school with my own world so the details did not stick with me.

I should go get ready for my meeting. Take care all!

PS - got this dog toy for Kirby. It makes hilarious squeak sounds! He loves it.
