119.4 - sinking back down again

We were very tired after the long weekend and drive but DH slept well and me not so much. He was sound asleep by 9:15 but I read until 10, then lay awake until around 12. Woke up at 2 for a while, then woke up again and couldn't shut off my mind at 5, so got up at 5:30. Hopefully I can correct tonight. Two things were active in my mind: how early I could pick up Justice and how to make a modification in the hanging areas in my walk-in closet. I will call and check on pick-up at 7 - closet after water aerobics.

Yesterday it was very calming and beautiful at the Ritz pool but once the cabanas were in the shade it was freezing. We were happy to leave at 3. Dropped off DSD and grandchildren at the airport and we were home by 6 (an hour too late to pick up Justice). Nice weekend but it is good to be home and we are looking forward to a week with no company.

Today are the activities mentioned above plus a seminar on golf rules this afternoon. It's busy being a retired person.

Have a meticulous Monday!

Liz, you are one of the busiest retired people I know!

This morning it's barely snowing. I'm doubting we'll get more than another 1-2 inches today to add to the 7 inches we got yesterday. Louisville's snow services are better than I'd expected, based on the city's map of snow removal (salting, plowing) done thus far. Today there's no school and no garbage removal, and (based on last night's scheduled but no-show delivery of a rug we bought online) UPS and FedEx are also taking some time off. Even got a text over the weekend from my dry cleaners saying they'll be closed today. But Kroger is open, so all is good.

I'll suit up again midday and head out with my poles for one of the Poles.

And as a cold weather coda, this morning I weighed 127, which I'd be so happy to weigh for the rest of my life! Looks like my new set-point-in-progress is 125-130. One of my best long-term post VSG habits is weighing and posting my weight on My Fitness Pal nearly every day.

Sort of the pot calling the kettle black when it comes to being busy LOL. Nice to be at a set point isn't it?

Cooling off here, but still no meaningful precipitation in the forecast (maybe a flurry or two possible tomorrow night, but no accumulation).

Chores today, nothing exciting. I saw the winners of the Golden Globes and I hadn't heard of any of the movies that won. Times have sure changed since the old days of my Oscar parties. Hollyweird has left me behind.

Anywho, I should go start choring! Take care,

I was thinking the same thing- I used to know the movies and actors getting awards but no more.

Happy New Year!

Quick post.... 215.7 (after 5 days of dog show and travel, I'm down with that! Whoo hooo...)

Dog show was somewhat disappointing, even though we did eventually have a good enough day.

9 plus hour drive home from Palm Springs yesterday, and a short night make for a tired me this morning. Luckily, teaching is auto pilot stuff today!

More later.....

I can't do those LONG drives anymore (nor do I love long plane rides but driving is more difficult for me).

I'm feelingMonday kind of tired. Thursday and Friday, we were playing around. Two weeks left of the semester, and now it's getting real. Me, begging students on my caseload who are not passing classes: TURN IN YOUR WORK!!! Please! You're going to have to go to summer school. They assure me they've got it covered... Ummm.... It's crazy when I care more than they do. And I guess also not so crazy, because the mind of a 14 year old isn't always adept and cause and effect. Gotta love em, but they wear me out.

Cold and more cold, but we have seen the sun 3 days in a row, which did not happen at all in December.

DD left this morning. Her connecting flight looks like a go, so the storms didn't delay her like we thought it might. I'll see her again in May when we head to Boston to celebrate her graduation ceremony.

Tonight meeting up with BFF and one of our high school friends. DH will also join us.

Weight continues steady. I am happy.

Sounds like it is time to retire!
