We are watching the storm headed your way, kind of mystified. How is it passing south of us with such ferocity, while we sit here cold for sure, but no snow? Stay safe!

Grettings all

Rain off and on but the sun is peeking. There are huge clouds off to the west so a big one is on the way. Sympathies to all of you in the middle part of the nation as the cold weather warnings are intense. Lots of people around here have generators but the cold is not life threatening as it is in the midwest. Stay warm all.

Yep Liz, anniversaries are bittersweet. Sometimes I think people near the end of life need permission to pass on. I often think of your struggles with Paul near the end and how hard it was - especially when someone I know here has the same issues. Have a peaceful day. And yay you one playing golf. Sounds like a fun bunch.

So I did my walking today and amused myself tinkering with the treadmill comtrols. Absolutely nothing interesting was going on. Studio time after that. There is some new form that incorporated businesses have to file with the IRS disclosing benneficial owners. Purpose is to track money launderers. I think I have it figured out but it requires electronic filing with uploaded images of IDs and such so one of our younger people will do the tech part if I get the data. Works for me. Lots of business stuff happening at this time of year. Did some other adulting such as call the credit card company about bogus charges and make vet appointments.

CC home service requirements never end. At least you can find someone to do stuff. Are there balloons at this time of year?

DH brought home pizza from his lunch group but it's pepperoni so I won't eat it. Got a beef pot pie for tomorrow and thats as far ahead as I can think.

Yay for on line shopping Ann. Hope you are having fun with it and it's not a drag. Stag snug.

A friend called last night and had had a car accident. She is fine but car is totaled. It was hard to get her to explain exactly what happened. Part is an issue of hearing but I fear she has some cognitive decline. I am concerned how the accident issues will sort out. Guess we will find out.

Beef pot pie? Is it like a shepherd's pie?

Definitely balloons this time of year! And at a much more reasonable hour as they go up at sunrise.

I hope there are balloons when we are there in mid October!

Very worrisome when someone drives past the point where they should. But hard to ask them not to drive if they can't recognize it. We were just lucky that deceased DH did not get into any accidents before we had to stop his driving. His ability went away in what seemed like a month's time. He drove me back and forth to a hospital an hour away in January but tried to drive in the wrong lanes more than once in March.

Liz, I'm impressed with your golfing! I'm beginning to suspect you may be one of those athletic people who are able to pick up many different sports. I continue to be highly uncoordinated! But I think I will follow your example, and try some golfing in the next year.

I have heard so many stories about people waiting to pass until someone either arrived, or left the room. We sat a vigil with my Grandma, and eventually my Mom and cousins left. I stayed and stayed. Finally I went to her bedside, said I love you and started driving back to my uncle's house, 10 minutes away. As I was walking in the house, the phone was ringing that she had passed. I really felt she needed me to leave the room before she could die.

Short week of 2 days that felt like 20! I was so unproductive at work, but I did check airfares at one point, and we have booked 6 days in Orlando. Not sure where we will stay yet, but if my 2 major criteria are met ( pool with palm trees and a balcony) I will be happy. Hopefully I can buckle down and crank out some actual work Monday!

I also spent some time texting with a friend from Brazil about January 2026. It was so fun to discuss our plans, and where we might stay etc. We are thinking 2 weeks in the city, and then 2 weeks at the beach. I am excited about just living there. I hope DH shares my enthusiasm and maybe one winter we will stay even longer.

Tonight DD and DH went to a movie Conclave, that I already saw. It was very good, but I didn't want to see it again so soon. DD hadn't seen it, so DH went with her. BFF came over for dinner and wine. Feeling a little sleepy now.

Tomorrow we will skip the coffee shop because we are going out to lunch with some friends. Sunday is of course, the Vikings game for DH.

That trip to Brazil should be fantastic! And good for you booking Orlando.

I am not naturally athletic AT ALL. I am naturally uncoordinated actually. But it was important to DH that we could play golf together so I figured this was a good way to get better at it and meet some more women at the same time.
