Still at hotel so no weight but that may be just as well. I fully partook in appetizer eating and had a full plate for dinner yesterday. Less than most other people but more than my usual. I took my 1/2 dose yesterday but it didn't seem to make a big difference in my appetite. Mind over medication.
We might stay on the pull-out at the house tonight but I'm not sure that will be as restful. Justice would probably be happier but he did sleep for part of the prior night with DSD and her husband.
Today the guys are golfing and the rest of us are going to the beach club. Hopefully the weather cooperates. First we will pack up here and go back to the house to walk Justice.
Enjoy your day with family and friends or just resting. No Black Friday shopping here as that is the opposite of restful IMO.
Have a fitting Friday!

I hope you're in store for a great beach club day. We have 20 degrees, and some sun, so indoor activities! For the next 4 months!
The driving hither and yon went okay. When I was alone in the car, I listened to the 70s Sirrus channel, volume cranked, singing as loud as I wanted. It passed the time.
DD has lost about 50 pounds. She looks like herself, beautiful, just a smaller silhouette. I'm so pleased for her. She is in a good place, with her school almost done, (2 more Saturdays!), and a job offer on the table for the exact position she wants in January.
DS's girlfriend was incredible and gracious after being thrown into a group of over 30 people. She is so fun to chat with.
My parents did great, after some resistance earlier in the week to having help. My brother was so helpful too, going over to their house the evening before, making sure the portable oxygen generator was charging, and then helping them get into the car etc. Christmas, we will bring dinner to their house.
DH agreed to work this morning, setting up Black Friday at 5am. I didn't even hear him leave. He will be home at 10am, and well go out for coffee, and later, see Wicked. Hopefully, DH gets a nap in between.
Enjoy the post holiday glow!
So happy for your DD! And DS's girlfriend sounds like she could be a keeper.

Mind over matter. Powerful, right? ! So, I'm sitting here, having a cocoa coffee with cream, no less, pondering just this... where is my mind as the holiday season begins.... December 1st will be the first month since last April with a net gain- 2# m/l. Fine, because I needed them. However, with my knowledge of past experience with this issue---makes me nervous and anxious. Every time in my life I ever lost weight, I gained it back.
Now, here I am again. I'm eating whatever as I please with full impunity.
What Is my mind? Am I eating all this food for intentional weight gain, or have I awakened the carb monster and head hunger giant? What I really want (opposed to what I say I want ) can be two different things. The important question is, Bonnie, do you want to be/get well, or is the pleasure of food gradually returning you to another regain?
Yesterday the word for the day here was gratitude and thankfulness. Today's (mind over matter) comes knocking at my door courtesy of Liz, and like yesterday reminds me of a Bible passage -John 5; one that speaks to me strongly and more deeply than the obvious- when Jesus asked the invalid by the pool, "Do you want to get well?" (and then advised) "pick up your mat and walk". That little gem was immediately pasted on the console of my treadmill some little time after VGS. It comes to my mind sometimes when I find myself willingly behaving in ways that keep me stuck to that bad and sad situation/space. The question is- Bonnie, do you want to get/be well?
Thanksgiving Day continues (#3) DS#2 arriving and staying a few days- and 2 new recliners to be delivered for Kurt's TV room. Can't wait to see the old ones exit!
Sunny and calm, but cold here. Hats, scarves and mittens required for Swanny's outandabouts.....
PS you all do know just what an amazing sounding board this forum is, and all due you.

I still get nervous when I go up 1/2 pound even though I am at the bottom or below my preferred range. The same fear of old patterns re-emerging which is why I want to stay on the low dose of medication.

Good morning all! Yesterday was a busy day...a little sleeping late (8:30), parade watching, internet surfing while having coffee, and then cooking up a storm! Actually, my leisure time was a bit less than it sounds because I was showered, shaved, dressed with bed made, dogs fed and in the kitchen prepping by 10:00. But that first hour of nothing with the parade on in the background was PERFECT!
Food was just OFF yesterday. Up until we left for Ron's sister's house at 2:00 I had eaten only a Quest bar. I had some cheese and salami and prosciutto while cooking. When I sat down with my turkey dinner with all the fixings I was unable to eat much before the uh oh! signal hit. I was truly disappointed. So, I basically played with the food on my plate and picked at it over dinner conversation. About 90 minutes later dessert was put out. I had a delicious piece of apple pie with some ice cream. Completely satisfying. I got back home to tend dogs about 8 pm.
Then at about 9 pm the sugar monster came out to play. OMG! All I wanted was more and more sweets. I'm guessing it was the lack of protein and decent food yesterday and the overall lack of calories. I did have some ice cream, but that only heightened the craving. That type of sweet drive hasn't happened in months! That and a lack of a BM yesterday resulted in the scale going up a pound from yesterday. But a high for the week on official weight day that is 1.5 less than last week's official Friday weight is a win! So, I think for the first time in my life I have lost weight over Thanksgiving week. Weight was 218.3 today.
Have a grooming at 10 this morning and still need to feed the pack, so I'm off like a herd of turtles to get on with the day.
Yes, Bonnie, this group is a MAGNIFICENT blessing and wonderful place to think things through. I am thankful for our tribe!
Amazing how too little protein can trigger cravings for other things!

146.7. I took a quarter dose of the shot yesterday. I was doing 1/2 doses twice a week like Liz but my suppression has been too much. Really hard to get even 700 calories in. I'm wondering if I just need less medication as I am getting smaller. I know that can be true for other meds. I'm pretty close to a normal BMI (145) and about 15 lbs. from goal (130). Depending on how the reduced dose goes, I may just back down to the starter 2.5 dose.
Long but fun day yesterday. We didn't get to sleep until about 1 am. Way late for this old lady! Nap will be in order for today. Tonight is pizza party and game night! Two more added to the crew. Tomorrow we will have all the kids plus DS3's girlfriend. DS2's BFF will have to endure the political conversations at her parents house.
Love this group! Thank you all for being a part of my life!
