Warm day here. Going to be in mid 80's, though it feels cold in the house.
Helped Mom with her shower (funny how the roles reverse as they age). She is not physically able to do much so we will probably just sit and visit and rock our phones. I will have to pick up a few things at the grocery for dinner.
I've only been tracking my foods and really limiting my calories below 1200 for a handful of days. It was going really well and I wasn't even very hungry until yesterday. Needed an afternoon snack but had raw veggies and dip and then was hungry (some physical but mainly head hunger) after dinner. I didn't give in but it was pretty hard to resist the, you need something sweet voices in my head. Can't wait for the new meds to get here. I think I will start them on Sunday night if they come this week.
Making chicken salad with celery and grapes for lunch and we are having burgers on the grill for dinner. I never do the bun with a burger but may eat some potato salad.
Busy day tomorrow. Bible study in the morning which I will drag Mom to, heart rhythm doctor's appointment in the afternoon and then I'm going over to a friend's house to help her prepare food for her youngest kid's graduation party!
Have fun at the beach Liz, don't blow away!
That's the beauty of these GLP1 medications. That head noise and the need to resist is gone. You just don't want more than a small amount.
What will happen with your Mom when you move to Florida? Will she come with you?
I had good news this morning. All my labs came back normal. Nary a one outside the good range! My cholesterol numbers have improved significantly over last year. That makes me happy and is reassuring on many levels, now that I've been on semaglutide for just about a year. So YAY!
Off to a line dance class in a bit then the dentist this afternoon. I have two monarch caterpillars on my milkweed. All is well!

Greetings
I am still lounging about on this overcast day. House is being cleaned and I will spend the afternoon at the studio doing glazing. Needs to be finished today so it gets in the kiln for Friday firing.
Food aversions: I don't really have any except I am not so much into sweets anymore. Bread and potatoes have more appeal. DH brings home costco bags of Hershy Kisses and I am not tempted. However, it it was better quality chocolate I might be more tempted.
Liz what a great family you have. No doubt much is attributable to your actions and values. Good on you. Enjoy all your guests.
CC I want whatever it is that you are smoking!!! I could sure use a dose of energy to pick up and organize stuff. Feeling the pressure with brother's impending visit. He is Mr. Perfect everything and his house looks like Architectural digest. Ours looks like a tornado hit a thrift store.
Squirrels!!! They are serious pests. We don't have many here and I have never seen one in our yard. I may have told you the story of my grandfather and the squirrels. He loved birds and had a huge feeder outside his window. To discourage the squirrels he hot wired a tin pie pan and had a control on his chair arm so he could zap the squirrels when they got in the feeder. It was like a little executioners switch. He just buzzed them. Did not kill them. His version of the stripper pole. Our garden pests are gophers, slugs and snails. Some people have ducks or geese to eat the snails.
Lizanne monarchs!! How cool. I assume you grow the milkweed on purpose to attract them. When I was a kid they were all around as we were on the edge of town and milkweed grew in all the ditches. Enjoy.
Steak for dinner tonight. Thats about it.

I never knew that about milkweed.
LOL again about the squirrel zapper. I had a feeder that was supposed to be squirrel proof at one point and it sort of was except some really determined squirrels could get by the baffle below the feeder part. But the ones that couldn't would hang on until they couldn't, then drop to the ground with their arms outstretched. I did check sometimes to make sure they were okay but they always seemed to survive the one story drop into grass.
