My report on the Auto Train: Definitely more relaxing than driving or sitting in a plane seat (though longer than the latter). The small cabin is comfortable for sitting and the food is adequate. We shared a booth last night and this morning and it was nice chatting with other people. Now the however: Though lying down is better than sitting in a seat overnight it was not comfortable. I was on the top bunk because there was no way either of us was going up and down multiple times and Mike needed to be closer to the bathroom (which is tiny but in the cabin so that's good). It got very warm in the middle of the night but then cooled down again so I slept about 3 hours, then maybe another 2-3. Which isn't terrible. We are actually getting into the station 2.5 hours early. Apparently they go as fast as possible because they often have to stop for freight trains which get priority. When there is no delay they make great time. So we will have to wait on the train for 45 minutes at the station before disembarking because the station won't be open yet. Then we will have another hour until we get the car. No big deal. They have been really efficient so far BTW.

So we are closing on the condo tomorrow vs. Tuesday because all the money is in escrow already and the sellers signed on Friday. We have a lot of work to do to pack the kitchen cabinets, owners closet and the garage. Hopefully we can get it moved in early in the week so it can be unpacked before we leave on 5/31.

Time to get packed back up for departure. Have a sincere Sunday!

My BIL was an Amtrak conductor. Unfortunately, his career ended with a derailment, and Amtrak gave him early retirement as part of a settlement. None the less, DH dreams of taking the Empire Builder from St. Paul to Seattle. Do you think you would sleep better the next nights? Glad to hear you will be getting the closing out of the way soon.

Peps, such good news on many fronts. I hope your Dad continues to show improvement, in healing and in his cognitive orientation. Congratulations on all your wonderful successes at the dog shows, what a beautiful thing to see.

Diane S. better treat yourself to some new t shirts as needed, because hopefully the sun is going to show up for you.

Can't wait to hear about the Bond Party. Hope it was fun!

Beautiful morning here. I drank 2 chai lattes on the porch, and admired the bedding plants I got in the ground yesterday. 80s predicted this week, so hopefully they will take off and start filling in.

Today's activities, I need to make a cake to bring to a gathering tomorrow. This evening, we are going to see Andrea Boctelli in concert. It's at the Timberwolves Basketball Stadium, so meh on the venue, but I am looking forward to the show.

So Wegovy is sold in a box of 4 one use injection pens. I have 1 left, then I should move up a dose. The progression is .25, then .5, then 1.0, then 1.7, and finally 2.4. I am not optimistic I am going to get the .5 in time. I requested the refill 2 weeks ago, and it's still on back order. I might have to suspend use. At least I'm still at the lowest dose, so when supplies increase, I would be able to go right back where I left off. Apparently the shortage is including the .25, .5 and 1.0.

Would I sleep better on successive nights? Possibly - I am really sensitive to small amounts of cushioning because I have shoulder problems and it was a bit warm. I think bringing a personal fan would help and if you are okay on a somewhat hard mattress it isn't so bad. But be forewarned that the bathroom in a bedroom is tiny - it has a shower but you have to sit on the toilet to use it (basically like a small RV or boat). We were one of the last to get our car but still were on our way home by 11 which was the original time we're supposed to get to the station. It was very organized one last time as they off-loaded the cars.

I too am looking forward to hearing about the Bond party!

The party was so much fun! I saw a woman I used to work with and always really liked (she's the one is the gold suit in the TT pic I posted) and she's hysterical. I hadn't seen her in at least 20 years. We laughed because she left gold glitter on everyone she hugged...

It was just as described. A James Bond impersonator greeted everyone. My best friend's partner has an Aston Martin and he had it parked out front a a backdrop to pictures with 007. He did look a lot like an older Sean Connery. There were martinis, a chef making bespoke pasta dishes to order, tons of sushi appetizers, craps, roulette, and blackjack tables. I still don't understand craps despite them trying to teach me. 45 guests. Everyone was really nice and it was great to catch up with my old friend and her husband and meet several fun new folks.

This is a silly thing, but it made me feel good to hear my friend introduce me to everyone as his best friend. we have been friends for 28 years. My longest friendship. I know he is my best friend, but he is the canceler I've mentioned who has yet to come see me in Sedona from the Phoenix area. He often does more fun outings and visits with other friends, which I think is great, but I have wondered in recent years if I mean as much to him as he does to me. Funny how I can be insecure!

With sushi, pasta, and a chocolate dessert, my blood glucose was through the roof! Time to get back on the wagon.

I think I am going to go sit outside for a bit! Take care everybody!

So glad you enjoyed the party CC! And I understand wanting that validation from your BFF. How could he not love you though?

Proving that worrying is yet again a wasted emotion, Walgreens just texted my prescription is ready. So, at a minimum, I have 5 more doses, starting with this Thursday.

Thank you, DD!

As a chronic worrier, I'm with you on it being a wasted emotion. When your mind maps out every worst case scenario (I'm picturing the inside of my brain as a Murder/Conspiracy Theory board in a basement with loads of newspaper clippings, secret surveillance photos, thumbtacks, and red string), you feel the anxiety of every possible outcome instead of waiting to worry and one having one thing, or if you're lucky nothing, to worry about.

Greetings all

Today really feels like summer. It's mild as always but no hint of chill in the air.

So I went to the studio and made some more owls. Wasn't feeling too inspired but studio buddy showed up to recycle clay. Pleasant afternoon. I came home and took some advil as that second shingles shot is pestering me.

Liz the train sounds good except for the mini potty. That would be weird. Worse than an airplane? Best wishes on getting the house closed and moved.

CC that party picture looked great! How fun to do grown up stuff once in awhile. Shaken, not stirred. I love the analogy of your mind being like a conspiracy bulletin board. Me too. I am positive that if I worry about everything all the time that I will avert disaster.

Peps congrats on the big show win. Blitz is hot!!!!

We watched a weird movie last night called "Nope". It's a sci fi thriller. I would not say it's terrible. Just weird.

DD counting down your school days! Hope you have summer plans. Or no plans. As you like. I love no plan days.

Shrimp tonight. Thats about it. Diane S

No Plan days can be the best especially after too many fully planned/overloaded days. I am hoping for some of those sometime in the near future...
