Another warm, sunny day here. It looks like this month will be a repeat of last year with most every day like this.

Our friends left, laundry is done and it is just the 3 of us (Mike, Justice, and I). Very nice to be alone for a few days. The bedding and towels are washed but we already have to buy more laundry detergent. Mike stocks his home with about a months worth of detergent (for laundry, dishwasher, and sink) as well as at least 2-4 week supply of paper goods and all the usual plastic bags, foils/wraps, and food storage containers. We have only been in one other rental as well equipped.

We made a reservation for lunch on a very exclusive island (Little Palm Island) not far from here for the end of the month. A Florida friend recommended it and I am glad we tried early. They were booking 10 days out (with nothing on weekends).

Today is probably the Justice walk, beach, a quick shopping stop, then grilled chicken and salad at the house. Nice to be in a routine and not entertaining.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

We took a drive yesterday out east as we were all stir crazy in the house. very pretty in the mountains with all the snow. This morning the balloons were back in force with 8 of them spotted at once! 2 drifted over the house.

The landscapers are back planting and staking trees and weeding. I'm way overpaying, but it's getting done and will be taken care of long term. And who am I kidding, I wasn't going to weed 2.6 acres.

Today I am going to one of the neighbors for a meet the neighborhood ladies get together. Should be fun. Can't believe I'm saying that. I joked with the hostess that it'll be nice to meet people because sometimes it feels like no one lives here. Which doesn't bother me, but can seem very quiet at times.

I should probably go get ready!

Enjoy the get together. Yeah, landscaping can be expensive but it is totally worth it IMHO!

Enjoy your no company days. You'll have to give us the scoop about Little Palm Island once you get there!

CC, I bet it feels different than California, where actual space seems to be an issue in many places. More space where you are. I hope you find the neighbors delightful as you get to know them. We have neighbors on one side that we like so much. The other side, they're tolerable, really, but irritate me just the same.

The testing went pretty well, I got a decent number of breaks, so that definitely helped. I think these kids are pretty heroic to keep testing this long.

Otherwise, just a normal day. It's overcast, perhaps more snow tomorrow, and then a fairly decent amount on Thursday night (6-12 inches, although that forecast could still change). Can't complain to much though when we see how hammered parts of California are getting.

Greetings all

Another atmospheric river is about but we just saw ordinary rain and not even all that much. But I pity the inland folks. Snow and more snow.

Played Scrabble this morning and won two, lost one. In the last game I had three bingo words. Sure speeds up the game when you put all 7 letters down at once. Of course I was defeated by the shark who is doing well after hip surgery. We all compared our canes and walking sticks. The big laugh was that I had forgotten to start the slow cooker pot roast and had to call DH with very rote instructions "put two cups of water in, put the roast in, salt and pepper, put the lid on and turn on high." (not to mention remove packaging from roast)

Then I stopped at the peculiar little asian sub stand. It's in a very strange building that was built as a coffee place. The sandwich was excellent - fresh bread, roast pork, delicious sauce and veggies. Could only heat half.

Then I did the studio payroll and spent some time glazing at the studio. Lots of driving around as these places are in different towns.

DD test duty sounds awful. My mother used to refer to it as proctoring exams. Sounded like good duty until you got to the part about no book or phone. (ear pods?). Anyway glad you are through that. Not sure how you could cheat on one of those machine scored tests except by looking at the paper of a smart person.

Liz enjoy Palm Island and tell us about it.

CC what a joy to live in a place where it feels like there are no neighbors but there really are some. Enjoy the gathering.

Cheers. The sun is out. Diane S
