It is our last full day here before our travels back home (with the puppies!). I am generally ready to leave but dread the traveling. We have a lot on our plate for the weekend which we didn't initially expect.
Tonight we are going to a gorgeous Italian restaurant on the water for our 3 month anniversary (and last night).
We have spent most of this week with good friends from home (the sand carver and his wife). We are very worried about the sand carver. He is a large man and has had issues with lymphedema and with atrial fibrillation over the last few years. He had COVID a couple of weeks before traveling. He had a mild case but has been coughing constantly since then. They were attributing his cough to the prior COVID but he can only walk about 15-20 steps before he gets winded and has to rest. It reminds me of my mother when she was in congestive heart failure. They are here until next Wednesday. I hope he sees his cardiologist when he gets back. Apparently he doesn't currently have a primary care person because she died recently which is why he didn't see anyone about the COVID. Very worrisome.
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Liz, your friends symptoms do seem worrisome. I hope he does get some medical care. Even if it's like lingering Covid. I know several people (me included) who ended up with secondary infections like pneumonia or sinus infection and needed antibiotics to kick it.
We are heading for a heatwave, with temps possibly reaching 101! But today will be lovely, mid 80s, low humidity.
Yesterday I got a transponder for EZ Pass. We only have a couple of toll lanes in Minneapolis, they are only toll during certain hours, and always free for 2+ passengers, so I've never needed one here. This will make our drive to the East Coast easier.
The next issue to settle, how to get a hot spot in Ipswich. We have a super affordable family plan for our cell phones, that was grandfathered in. The plan no longer exists. If we change anything, like add a hot spot to our phone, it cancels our plan. We're looking at portable routers, but we're still not sure of all the details to get it operational. We only need it for a month, so don't want to invest in some plan.
We had a bunch of bananas going brown. I made banana bread with them yesterday, but initially felt guilt over if. Why is food so complicated? Anyhow, I decided it wasn't criminal to make banana bread or even to eat a slice. So I did. One slice. Might have another today...
EZPASS does make driving so much easier. I needed a hotspot at some point and also had to upgrade my plan to get it but it only added $10 a month so I didn't feel bad.
Our friends just went to Urgent Care here. I hope it isn't anything serious.

You should be able to buy and subscribe to just a hotspot and then link your phones to it using wifi. My school district provided hot spots for every family in need. It is possible. I'd keep you current plan, if possible. I made a change to my ATT plan years ago and they immediately took away my unlimited data.... Was a stupid move on my part!
My current plan is pretty good, 5 phones for $125. The kids have unlimited data, DH, my mom and I have roll over data, none of us ever use it all up. Each phone does have 2gb of hot spot, but we're looking for enough WiFi to enable our daughter to work from the cottage we're staying at. We probably just need to trot over to the T-Mobile store and they'll have a solution I'd imagine.
