Time to pack for our Key West trip! I haven't really celebrated my birthday which is on Tuesday for years. Sixteen years ago it was a crisis day when eldest DD went on morphine for her last days. We thought we were going to lose her that day so I didn't want to tell her it was my birthday so she would feel she should intentionally hang on. Then I didn't celebrate because of that memory and when I was finally ready to, DH was falling apart and last year there was the Covid lockdown. So we are leaving tomorrow morning for four days: 1 in Key Largo, then 2-3 in Key West (the last might be back in Key Largo). We are taking a boat to the restaurant on my birthday (Latitudes). I am beyond excited! For once I haven't bought myself any birthday presents...
No more side effects from my 2nd vaccine shot. I was just a bit tired yesterday during the day. Today my arm is still slightly sore but that's it. I am getting my hair cut/highlighted today. Somehow I have to get her to cut back on the highlights. I tell her every time but I keep ending up way too blonde (and my hair is still really quite a dark brown these days, not gray or white).
Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Key West is a perfect place to celebrate. DH and I spent part of our Honeymoon there. Like you, we started in Key Largo, then drove to Key West for a 5 days, then back up to Miami for the final 2 days. All of it beautiful.
Today is bright, and will be warm, maybe in the 60s. DS and his girlfriend are here, along with girlfriend's little dachshund. Cute little pup. They came to Minneapolis to celebrate her birthday. Options for a covid style birthday, we will have dinner (gf is actually cooking), use the hot tub, have a bonfire, I guess it depends on the birthday girl.
Due to visit, normal weekend cleaning is already done! It's nice to wake up on a Saturday, and not run through a mental list of chores to accomplish.
Our Governor has dialed back some more of our Covid restrictions. Restaurants can open to 75% capacity, no numbers limit on church services, and looks like there will be fans at Minnesota Twins baseball games. I don't go to Twins games all that often, but our outdoor stadium is a real architectural gem, so I do enjoy it. We'll probably check it out again this summer now that it's an option.
Feeling hopeful!
