I am off to Cape Cod this morning. I will be there by 10, then plan to do a Covid test in the airport. DD is picking me up with the new boyfriend in her new truck and we are going to brunch. I will be seeing some friends late afternoon/early evening. Then I expect to crash early because I slept very fitfully before my trip and was fully awake by around 3:30 am.

I will post a picture or two on TT from yesterday. It was a fun day with my Florida friends!

Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

DD, good job getting the fam on board for procuring healthier provisions ! Ceci, when do your Dad and his wife have to be out ? I love seeing photos from your walks !

I'm at the point where I have piles of spring and summer clothes laundered, folded and sorted in piles. Next step is putting away half of the stuff I think I want to bring. I DO NOT need ten pair of shorts or eight capris... we have a washer and drier in our Virbo !

Going with yesterday's weight: 154.8

Though I must say my jeans have determined that was a lie (boy they were tight!)

Has anyone else noticed covid relax? I was out running errands yesterday and so many people were without masks. I so so cannot wait to ditch the mask...but maybe it's a tad too soon?

But I recognize the covid fatigue. We feel it. In fact, we are going to Jamaica over spring break. Apparently we take a covid test before going and before coming back, masks, lots of cleaning, and we have our first vaccine doses so I feel pretty at ease about it.

Church also opens back up today. Trying to decide whether to go or not. I'm very much feeling the spring renewal and rebirth and wanting some church.

Yesterday was an unexpectedly beautiful day. 60s and sunny, no wind. We took the kids outside and were able to play on playground, blow bubbles, while we surveyed our long gardening/yard to-do list. Rich grilled burgers. Nice weather cannot get here quickly enough. I think that maybe nice outdoor weather will help with covid fatigue and carry us through this weird half-safe time. Plus, I need to get to walking. My body really responds to that!

I read Peps' discussion the other day. I had also just been thinking about my WLS journey. And then I found my youtube videos capturing the thoughts/process leading up to and immediately after surgery. I might share them with you. I have so many thoughts on the subject and will share them after I can put them down in a more coherent manner.

So much to do this week. I have some bar exam grading, getting ready for Becca's birthday! Not to mention the daily rigamaroll of having house, kids, laundry, etc.

On today's list is easy pot roast, probably taking kids to park if it's still nice. Church tbd. Finishing up some probate stuff. Start on laundry.

I think good weather does change everything. It's easier to say no to some things that aren't a good idea when you can say yes to things like getting together outside with friends etc.

I think everyone has Covid fatigue. There is definitely less mask wearing in Florida. We went to a restaurant for lunch here on Cape Cod and though everyone had masks on the street and when not sitting, all tables were full and they had entertainment inside. This is the first week since Covid started that live music was allowed inside in Massachusetts.

Another sunny day today. It is a little cool still, but it does look like spring. The Creek Willows are leafing out and the Black Walnut trees are filled with round balls of tightly curled leaves that I expect will begin to unfurl today. This is a favorite time of year for me. I know I've said it before, but that new, young, soft spring green brings me so much joy!

Liz - your walking group looked like a lot of fun. Congrats on your Silver medal! Have fun at home. Glad you brought Justice with you! BB - don't know how I missed your vaccination day!!!! Congrats. That is awesome. Here in CA you and DH would still be waiting in line. Diane O - when do you leave for Pawley's Island??? Ceci - Hope you are doing okay. I know how it comes and goes at this point. Know I'm always here for you. And yes, I think a TX meet up is in order!!!!!! Shirl - your shoe win triggered my inner Imelda! LOL! Diane S - love your experience with the homeless man. You're a mensch! DD - I love that you are teaching your SPED kids the classics. That is awesome!

Eating has been really spot on in the sense that I am in control. I even found myself having a lengthy internal discussion both at breakfast and at lunch about what I really wanted to eat. Breakfast ended up being over easy eggs, with avocado and a ham slice with a side of greek yogurt with fruit. Lunch was left over carne asada quesadilla with three cuties. Being what i really wanted, those meals were very satisfying and lasted.

I am down just about 6 pounds since my high several weeks ago reached during my compulsive episode period. 270.1

I was proud to be able to post the push up video yesterday. As i'm sure you all know there is a lot involved in posting something like that when you are one of us. Each of us has our own set of issues with self image (and in my case body dysmorphia, too boot!). I was able to see how good my form is and how nicely my muscle structure has developed. I also felt great that I could just pop those out with very little effort. I went on and did two more sets of push ups after the video set yesterday.

I also now am very clear that while I am over weight, I do not need to lose 100 pounds. The scale may indicate a 100 pound gain, the BMI chart may say I need to lose 111 pounds to hit normal BMI, but that is just BS. My goal is still to get to under 200, but you know, I may get to 240 or 220 and say, hey, I feel good here. I will just have to see.

Off to feed dogs and then groom, groom, groom to get ready for my Texas road trip and shows. Getting 3 dogs in coat is a lot of work!

Weight 187.4

Other than a walk yesterday, I didn't really do anything! Can't say today will be much different. I got sucked into a book and am happy to see there are several more in the series.

DianeO, my dad is out of the house on 3/24.

Peps, maybe I need to get planning my TX visit!

Liz, your race walking day looked like lots of fun!

Bonnie, hurray for nice weather. I'm so jealous you got your first shot. Oklahoma must be way ahead of CA

Shirl, your car is adorable! And your shoe haul was very impressive.

What book? I am always looking for something good to read and all the better if there is a series.

It's a fantasy series, which I normally don't go for, but considering reality is really bumming me out right now, a little something unworldly is a nice escape. The first is A Court of Thorns and Roses.
