Greetings Super People

159 today. Yay me. Its a sleepy sunny day in our neighborhood though the town is hopping with garage sales. Summer de-clutter. I took bananas over to the homeless project today but not too many people there. Probably because the weather is nice and its middle of the month. It appears more people come in at the end of the month when they are out of money. Many are on disability and such. Count my own blessings. My home may be full of DH's junk but I have a home and every electronic part known to mankind.

Liz, glad DS is coming around. We all knew he would. Not easy to accept the inevitable when its not happy.

Cheers Shel - Dave's coffee rules.

I thought I had a great food find - some egg bites from costco. They are quite good and high protein but higher in calories than I thought. I misread the package in the store. 300 for two bites. Guess I just have to get busy and make my own.

Dave so enjoy the Adalyn stories. Soon she will be talking a great deal. Loved the playhouse picture. And glad your garden is doing well. Steamed butternut or summer squash in chicken broth, a bit of onion, then pureed with a bit of gy and chilled makes a great summer soup.

Gallery duty this afternoon - the one with the nice views. I bet its busy. I won't have much time to play iPad games. I have a newer one - Bad Piggies - and I can't figure out how to play it. Feel really stupid.

Nephew is scheduled for VSG in November. I am glad for him. His wife and mother are not totally on board but he is confident that will change. I think his wife will come around but his mom is a different story. A MO person who insists on cooking tons of food for every little thing and who makes everyone else miserable helping as she is not physically able any more. A good person but a bit bossy.

The wild blackberries are starting to ripen here. I am seeing people picking them in the neighborhood patches. Every year I swear I will pick and freeze some. There is a blackberry festival coming up soon.

Well, time to clean up and go. Later. Diane S

Good Morning All, woke way too early for a Sunday! Think its my brain running at a million miles woth so much to acheive at the farm. Yesterday was very productive, picked up a load of timber then a load of rocks- we shoveled them into the edge of driveway to help with erosion. 24 planks of timber stacked in shed- this will be used to build walls to line a couple of the bays when we get back. Cows and calves all drenched & vacinated- poor bull calves are now steers but doing ok. We then did a heap of spraying as weeds as going crazy then made up the big steel tree guards. Lastly we started putting shade cloth on one so the mandarin tree has frost protection- DH has nearly finished sewing it on. Over to sort SIL animals then we got takeaway for dinner as I was too pooped to cook. Asleep by 8.30pm hence the early waking

Today we will take morning tea over to Other SIL then come back & plant 4 gum trees in front paddock before cleaning & drive home.

Great to read what you all have been doing :)

Im off to make my first cup of tea- listening to the cows bellow- likely they will come running up to the fence when I go out there. Love the tranquility here

Love and Hugs to you all x

Shirley

I had to look up the definition of a steer - I had guessed right (LOL).
